I did the classic...phone in my back pocket, dropped it down the toilet. No life.
I'm in a contract and I don't have phone insurance. I'm 7 months in to a 24 month contract. What do I do?
I can see two options...
1. Try for some insurance. I rang Vodafone and I don't have any insurance and there's nothing they can do their end. I have a Barclays additions card but I haven't registered this phone to it (FAIL) Worth a try?. I don't have contents insurance. Can I take out insurance and then retrospectively claim?
2. Sell the broken phone (Mazuma are offering 50 quid) and buy a cheap handset.
Thanks

It may recover.
Take it apart, get the battery out, dry as much as possible, put it in a bowl of rice somewhere warm for a week or so.0 -

You could do that ....it's a process they call FRAUD !

Oh no I didn't mean in a deceitful way! I actually heard someone did this- specifically said it to their phone company and they advised them to take out insurance and claim there and then...I would never do anything illegal and didn't mean to give that impression :eek:April Grocery Challenge: £218.82/£6000 -

Please please do not get insurance and claim. It is both fraudulent but also morally wrong. Try and dry it out as best you can and then take it to a mobile shop. They can do wonders and it may ( well fingers crossed ) costs a lot less than you think.Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0

As I explained above I really didn't mean lying or anything like that!! I would never do anything fradualant or morally wrong..I just heard of some people who were advised by their phone companies that if they took insurance out there and then they could claim there and then. I really didn't mean anything else! Think I read it on mumsnet.April Grocery Challenge: £218.82/£6000 -

Basically I was able to use my work phone for whatsapp, and didn't use anything else. I decided at the beginning of this year to get my life in order a little bit and I want to start saving. I know I can't use my company phone forever and having looked at my finances properly for the first time I know I'm paying [FONT="]£39.50 a month on a contract I'm not using and should be. I wanted some help to sort it out.
Embarrassing reallyI really just wanted some advice..not to give the totally wrong first impression after being a lurker for 6 years..now people think I'm some disaster who is going to commit fraud! Not the case
