Sorry not been around much due to full time work, but today is first day of the Christmas hols. Possibly back to job sharing in new year if my friend is well enough to return to work.
big box of stuff went to the CS at the weekend, final pressie Posted just have a couple of local hand deliver then family stuff to go.
Couple more Christmas cards to do but this year I've almost cleared the stash box I'd accumulated over several years by not buying new ones. They were all nice but had built up over various January sales etc. Wrapping paper is heading the same way as I had a huge stash of that but haven't bought more this year.
Going to kondo the ironing pile today but will restart proper in the new year.

Hope everyone is as well as they can be
Welcome to the new kondoers and any lurkers reading, please join us no one bites.

    Have a joyful day all.

Also caught up on Christmas card stash. I brought mil's cards over here for her to write - a lot in her stash with wrong envelope, about thirty spare envelopes in pile and about a dozen hideous cards no one will use. So we now have a small neat carrier sorted and ready for next year for both of us. Some have gone in RC, envelopes in my envelope drawer. We may need a couple of packets so I will buy 2/3 in sales this year.
Our joint stash of wrapping paper now down to just three partially used rolls. A few things to wrap so think I will get rid of some before 25th. None bought this year - again may look out for 2/3 nice rolls in sales.
Seem to be kondoing lots of money atm. DH bought a couple of new brioche baking pans so he understands two items have to leave. Some new electronic gadgets have arrived but I don't really understand what they are - something to do with TV and wifi.
2 hours wrapping yesterday - just a few small bits to get and the fruit.

    Morning all :D
Thank you everyone for your best wishes for my Dad I am pleased to say he is 100% recovered and back to normal (if that is the right word) ;)
He is now with my Bro on hoilday until after Christmas :D

I have really enjoyed spending time with him I think I have calmed down a lot now and we get on really well only taken 50 years :D Oh well better late than never :rotfl:

I have still not purchased any presents and have decided I am NOT going too :) and its like a weight has been lifted :D No gifts will be returned from ungrateful people this year as they were the wrong colour etc etc ect as they are not getting any :j
I have treated people I want to though the year with gifts I know they need and thats good enough for me.I have donated to worthy causes and also given time and energy to hopefully make a difference.

So this weekend DH and I have spent this weekend relaxing in the spa ;) So while everyone was rushing round the shops we were enjoying the lack of people in there :D In fact most of the time we were the only ones there.

So roll on 2016 I am ready for the fall out over the gift thingy and I dont care :D

Thank you everyone for sharing this joyful kondo year and onwards and upwards ;) In this time of madness take time to step outside it and take time to see things you would have missed had you never started this KM lark :o

Today I have Kondoed all the bits of tat from my sewing box, a job that has been on the list for ages, you wouldn't believe how many bits of thread, rusty needles and bent pins had been lurking in there. It is lovely and tidy and bulky things like ribbon, elastic and hook and loop fastening are neatly placed in a lovely tin that will live in the spare (junk) room.

The sewing box was given to me after setting up my first home (1969) by my Nan, it was in a sorry state, but OH has mended it for me today bless him.

Joyfully - so pleased that you are feeling happier today.

Mavvymoo - well done you regarding the presents, you seem more than ready to face any flack, more power to you. Also, so pleased about your dad's recovery.

allybee101 - I have a huge drawer of stationery to Kondo in the new year, OH used to go to a lot of exhibitions and return with loads of goody bags given out by the companies for publicity, we have been nibbling away at it all for years, but surplus polypockets, and stuff can be rehomed somewhere or other and the space better used.

  • Ironing basket is empty again. Given the boys theirs to put away with instructions I want their rooms tidy. Just having a quick S&S of the lounge now before starting tea. No plans to go out at all tomorrow so will catch up on the stuff I've missed off today's lists. Especially as I won't have any ironing to do.

Hi everyone. I have finally finished the entire thread and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Feeling a bit low today, I've had 2 days of very little energy and am scared I am slipping back health wise.
We also did the parent visit today and I always find that draining.....
I feel as though I am getting too insular and am really worried about going back to work mid Jan after my illness.....
I get times like this round Christmas wish I knew why!
Well done on the konding though everyone xxx

I also have a month I get really down, every February. Luckily, I realised quickly that it was related to my getting fired February the year before, which was stressful. It is now 11 years ago, and I still get stressed every February, but now that I know, I take steps to distract myself. I try to kondo the stress, but the dismissal felt sooo unfair. Until last week...... when an ex colleague got in touch through email. He mentioned at one point that he had always felt a bit silly/naive (in Dutch: onnozel) next to me, and I suddenly realised I had been too smart for that organisation. It was a shipping company with 50 male colleagues, and three female. No wonder I got fired...I made them feel uncomfortable.
I'm sorry I got carried away responding to your remark; apparently it needed to be kondoed from inside of me :rotfl:
