Finally accepted that the flowery trousers i bought in the summer, are truly not me and time to let go.
I haven't even worn them....:o
But they were part of my 333 wardrobe, so a waste of an item. Even though i am changing to my "winter" wardrobe on Tuesday, I substituted something else to wear out tonight.
The 333 has gone well, I am not as strict as the rules say but i like the limitation - seems to give me more choice somehow. And i have worn stuff previously being saved for special occasions - even though they were everyday things. My burnt orange day dress is a case in point - i have worn it several times and had many compliments. Why was it lurking in the wardrobe, just waiting?
Sorting out photos has also shown me that some of my clothes are extremely old:rotfl:

Finally got our new house and starting to declutter it - around 30 bags between yesterday and today .
Those two old favourites, Justin Case and Keepfor Best have figured strongly. Most of the Keepfor Best died in storage - mainly new bedlinen and tablecloths, badly mildewed as all piled up with Justin Case in cupboards with no ventilation and against outside walls. What a waste
. Most wasn't my taste but would have been great for charity shops, instead it's gone straight in the bin. Also got rid of about 10 years worth of received Christmas cards and years of bowling club minutes - why oh why??????
Feeling a bit guilty now. It's customary in Spain to leave unwanted 'treasures' next to communal bins as no real recycling facilities. I left a massive bunch of artificial orchids, 2 large stuffed toys and an old ironing board, all gone in 30 minutes, no doubt to clutter someone else's house. Oops
.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Yes, it's getting easier and easier now, only a few more things to list for November.
Loopychris, you are doing really well. I wondered about doing it backwards (ooh err, missus) but am glad i did it the traditional way as i found it easier to get rid of stuff as i went on. VJs mum
Thank you, I found it easier doing it backwards as I was doing a general clear up and moving rooms round so found a lot of things in the first few days. Plus I could get shot of more of it after a few days, if you see what I mean. Now on the last knockings of the month, then I can start properly!!!
Day 27 - 4 items
2 pairs of trousers
2 tops
Been in my craft cabin today sorting it out, but it isn't worth putting things in all the cupboards as we have to get power and light fitted to it, and all the furniture etc. will have to be moved while that's being done and sockets put in etc.Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

IQueen, hope it's easing off!
Have to report that since I Kondo'd the cd's both DH and I have been listening to much more of them. DH went to the cd wallet this evening, no complaining that things had been moved / changed etc. It looks like I pretty much sorted them in a logical way cos he found what he wanted with no questions or complaints.
Breakthrough on DH kondo front as well, he said, we'd better get that other cd wallet to do the rest (I had planned to get it a few days ago but no time). And, he didn't question why I want to get a large plastic storage box tomorrow (for the diy stuff as mentioned prev, defo going to put the 'project' items like paint brushes, wallpapering stuff, etc in the loft). That will free up 2 cupboards that are rarely opened because how often does one need to get one's wallpaper kit out??
I have plans for the cupboards but have a few xmas things to concentrate on soon - sudden
change of plan because FiL is having major medical procedure in 10 days time so I'll be taking on the turkey this year !:j I know it's only a roast dinner really but I'm used to cooking for 2 not 10 and they want all the trimmingsI am looking forward to it though.
Have some chores to do in the morning but would love to kondo the cupboards tomorrow, I think it'll really make a difference, they are in the room of doom and I reckon that will be at least 60%
done then - a corner turned :T
The friend who I have been helping with her sorting out, tidying and folding al la MK (daren't mention that there is a little magic book on how to achieve this, she'll think it's a trick to psych
her out) just burst into tears when I last saw her. She said she can't believe how much we have achieved and she feels in control again. Weirdly I had spent an hour at her home the day before, while she was at an appointment, following her instructions of where to relocate some items, and I had indeed thought that we had turned the corner. Helping her has kept me on the straight and narrow, although of course it has eaten into my KM time at home, but that is only a short term issue, I 'll get there soon
Nite All,
MI have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
Re-arranged my unmentionables today after kondo - two bras (one not worn, the other one used maybe once or twice before and I tried it on again - not comfy for the size I'm at the moment ) so they will go to Africa collection that a friend of mine does. Unmentionables now reduced to two drawers (pun totally intended) rather than three.
And all colour-co-ordinated. Blacks in one drawer and coloured ones in the other. Although ignoring Marie's advise on folding, folded the bras so I have a neat row of each (tops and bottoms) per drawer.
Might kondo my nightwear and get that to the empty drawer now.....
Afterthought - does anyone use the word unmentionables anymore?0 -
Tomorrow evening - the big clothes kondo starts. Not expecting it to finish before Sunday evening or Monday morning..0

Morning all
On my kitchen worktops lurks only a kettle, microwave, DAB radio and a joy bringing fruit bowland thats it everything else is in the cupboards.
I love it its so easy to clean and if anything else gets shoved on there its easy to spot the outsider and do something about itToaster was on there as well but as you know that has been kondoed along with the mouse that somehow got in there and wont be replaced we do have a grill after all
Its a lovely day today which is good news as we have 2 tons of sand to kondo into the Chicken area as it gets so muddy and slippy when it rains. So I reckon doing that cleaning them out and other odd jobs over there will take all day . Also slabs to go down to put the plastic storage thingy on as well.
cant wait for it all to be done as it makes life so much easier for these dark mornings and evenings.Which is great for the kondo way of thinking everything I do now must be easier than it was before

Anyone bought a scanner to scan photos? I really want to reduce the bulk of these blessed albums as well as other bulk paperwork - the minimalists are recommending this one
