I noticed today that MK has a New Illustrated Version of her book coming out in January. Billed as the #1 New Release (in Zen Philosophy) on the US Amaz.com website. There isn't even a sneak preview of the illustrations on the US site, so we'll never know if we are 'doing it right', cos we don't buy books now do we? About a third of my books are packed up and awaiting collection by the Amnesty International bookshop. Odds and ends will go to local charity shops on the second sweep. I notice what is on the shelves more now, they have become individuals, not just another shelf of books.

I really need to get my bum back into gear on this thread again! I have put to one side a couple of pairs of jeans that have holes in them and have seen better days! That will reduce the jeans section of the drawer down - slightly ;)

I am in the habit now though of just hoofing things out as I go along. Had another 'cull' in the dressing table drawer although the cupboard in the en-suite has grown in it's contents which makes me conclude I have moved it from one area to another! Talk about trying to kid yourself :D

Realised this morning after cleaning the kitchen that I could do with another session on the cleaning stuff/sprays underneath the sink and reduce it down although to be fair compared to where it was three years ago it's about a quarter of the size it was.

MMF007, can I ask about the CDs - have you thrown out the cases? I'm having a real dilemma, I have a CD storage thing but the bottom shelves are so hard to see and it's in such an awkward place that I hardly ever play them. I'm dithering over wall shelves (expensive) or putting them in wallets. Someone suggested loading everything on to iTunes but I think it'll clog up my phone and I don't want to pay for cloud storage. I have always struggled to manage iTunes to be honest. I'm wondering if your wallets might be the answer. But what about the cases?

    Good morning all

Shared a takeaway last night with a friend from our favourite Chinese place.
We got a fortune cookie. I love those.
I just had to share the one she got.
    It read:

'Help will only come when there is room for it to enter'

This was such a woo moment she is having a life changing decision to make soon.
Her life can be hectic and her place can be a bit cluttered.
She is that person who is buying up all of our CS donations.
A terror in a Chazzer as I was once.

I've told her often about the book that changed my life.
Maybe she should read it now.
I truelly believe that living simply and modestly is the way.

Don't forget my late Mum's favourite, Will Cummie-Nandy.
I've met his stuff as well in the last few days :rotfl:. Some of his stuff (bubble wrap) will for a short time but most actually belongs to his Chinese cousin Won T Cummie-Nandy :D.

Laughing Cavalier ornament with broken-off hand cunningly stuck on with blu-tack anyone? Or hi-fi system where only the cassette player works?

    We laugh at that Gallygirl
    Cos we've all been there
My afore mentioned friend asked me to turn down the tv while she rang for our takeaway.
I picked up a remote and she said "no not that one it's broken, use the new one"
    ????????!!what the!

I remember a comic strip character in one of the papers years ago
    He was called Useless Eustace
I think he has lived in many of our homes.

    Loving the names for carp!

Pollywollydoodle I have thrown all cd and dvd cases away! But tbh I don't play either very much so don't have great amounts, I bought an mp 3 a couple of years ago so put all cds on it and that just plugs into the speakers to listen to music.
In fact I had a flat cd player on the wall which I took down when we had a wall built in lounge and since then it's lived in spare room,I am only keeping it as I didn't put Xmas cds on the mp 3! :rotfl:
I wrote my Xmas cards on Friday so I brought it down to play Xmas songs as I did the cards!
My first Xmas meal is on 9th Dec and will see a large portion of family so hand them out then :j

Hope everyone is safe and doesn't blow away!

Help!!! I'd put the word out at the club for Aunties clothes & had quite a few grateful recipients BUT its triggered off their clearouts & the stuff is being given to me!!!! Very difficult to refuse without hurting feelings so as I get rid of one bag another is taking its place. Just seems that tact and diplomacy will make this task take a bit longer! Still I suppose at least Stuff is finding new homes one way or another!
Off next weekend to DH's uncles 85th birthday lunch. Like me he loves anything Ginger so I've filled a basket with Ginger cookies, chocolate, crystallised Ginger etc and a pot of my rhubarb & Ginger jam. A couple of my aunt's jumpers will be taken up to DH's Aunt so that will be a bit more gone from the RoD.
Getting very windy here now so stay safe everyone x

PWD, yep, I threw the cases, and I was amazed how much the big recylcing bag weighed when I took it to the tip, I kept the playlists from the inserts and just slotted them into the same pouch.

I am planning relocation of, guess what? Photo albums! So the cd and dvd wallets can go in sideboard where cd player is, obv place for them :)

i haven't done photos yet, I don't think I'll find it difficult emotionally, but I do want to spend time on it and as yet I haven't thought of the best way / place to store them. It will be hard copies tthough, not going to scan as will never look at them and would fear losing the e-files somehow.
