I'm not getting shut of them, pennystretcher, thanks anyway - they've got plenty of use left in them, they were really good quality when I got them a million years ago, I'm just going to wear them out unequally so I only need to get rid of one at a time :)

I had a break from MK as I went on holiday. But I've now been back four weeks so that excuse is wearing thin.:o

DH has started re-decorating the dining room this week so I emptied the sideboard (everywhere else in the room had been kondoed previously) to make it easier to move. I've just wrapped a dozen spare glasses for the CS so that nothing goes back in that I don't want to keep. It's not that everything else in there is joyful. Some of it is but others are simply spares so it wouldn't be very mse to get rid and then have to buy replacements in future.

When painting is finished then I'll take over with soft furnishing. I've bought fabric to recover dining chairs, make a cushion etc. so that'll keep me busy. It'll be great to have another room all joyful. Sitting room is still a happy place since it had the same treatment a coupe of months ago.

I had one thought about bath and hand towels, oddly :o I'm going to start using the same ones as much as possible - until now, I've always tried to wear them out equally, but I've just realised thats not really helpful. I need three hand towels and a bath towel - I might even rearrange the airing cupboard to take account of that!

Bathroom is on our list of rooms to be redecorated. In fact whole house is as we've been busy and let things slide. I'm determined not to use/buy any new towels until we revamp it so I'm using the same couple of sets, wash and wear. I have got newish ones put away (lovely joyful White Company ones) but they're in the wardrobe in spare room (with the spare bed linen) so I can put them out for guests. I'll be become a guest in my own home when the decorating's finished:D.

How sad Gary the fading star. Perhaps he could appear on a reality TVs programme to restart his career.

Doesn't "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here" start about now? I'm sure I saw a news article about the 'celebs' (didn't recognise any). Although GQ might take Gary at his word and permanently evict him! :rotfl:

  • Just to let you know that Gary is running a mobile snack bar on the dock road north of Liverpool city centre.
  • We are in process of revamping the living room...expensive but joyful

    Thanks Jinny.
I say professionally, its in its very early stages, I've done a few friends of friends and I don't charge a huge amount just a small daily rate that covers me not only for being there doing it with them but also taking stuff to the place they choose, be it the charity shop, the tip and help sort stuff for selling. I tend to charge what I feel they can afford to build up some experience and good will.
    I love it.

  • I'm considering getting rugs for my newly uncovered and tidied floors. I'm in a rent flat, and the carpet is a very nuetral but incredibly boring brown. Seeing such wide expanses of it isn't sitting very comfortably
