  • Silvasaver - I had a look on amazon and they are lovely but yes v pricey.
  • Haha, that's a great quote Mrs MP! I think if there's something you need then it makes sense to look for a bargain but I'm very cynical - most 'sales' stuff is reduced because they couldn't shift it or because there's a newer model coming in.

Sheesh, I never thought photos would be so b-o-r-i-n-g. Which is making me question why I'm keeping some of them! And I'm really tempted to bin the pile of negatives. Can you still get them developed? And am I ever likely to?

  • I wouldn't bother keeping negatives - especially of boring photos. If you ever wanted to get a copy you can have it taken straight from the photo

GQ you are so right that stuff is only valuable (in any way) if it is being appreciated, not went it is lurking.

Mrs MP, I have a lovely vision of your elves' workshop :) What a lovely thing to do!

No kondo-ing today, far too many family commitments. Will have a go at sorting dvds before bedtime, just to make a start!

Mav, shame about the boiler expense :( Fingers crossed that tomorrow has no more palavers!!

:) I've had a freegle pick up whilst I was out today and a lovely thank-you message so am feeling happy. So great to know that items which have been unused for 12 whole years are now somewhere where they will be used and with someone who is delighted with them.

it is certainly getting more challenging as the numbers increase, but I think I am benefiting from being 'compelled' to get rid of X number of items. As I am playing the mins game in an ad hoc fashion (I am not officially kondoing ATM due to lack of time) I find it is opening my eyes to a lot of those items that we live with daily yet don't see and don't use. The further I progress along my journey, the more MK's comments about the 'background noise' these items give off resonates with me.

I'm now in quite a quandary about Christmas, because my family are renown for going completely over the top. I doubt they will embrace a no gift or token gift Christmas, yet I am racking my brains to think of things I genuinely need or want.

  • What's the mins game? Is it getting rid of a set number of items? I haven't really been in old style boards before joining this thread so probably don't know what's going on!

Finally surfaced after 2 full days of photo kondo!:eek:
I thought I was quite sorted as they were mostly in albums ,but after I had been through all the albums to get rid of duplicates blurred and no good photos, I then had to rearrange all the albums :(

I worked on them from 10 am yesterday till 12. Midnight then from 10.30 this morning till 8 PM with just 15 min meal breaks!

So worth it though, huge bin bag of photos gone, several piles to hand to family to see if they want any. All others are neatly stacked in albums with dates on the spines,on the top shelf of the wardrobe :j
    I have 14 empty albums! !

Sorry to hear you had boiler probem Mavvymoo hopefully you are due a run of good luck now !
