Hurrah for GQ & her Nan!!! Great news!!! :T

My Nan's 90 now & says she isn't going anywhere haha...

You're so right, things should be used & looked after & worn, not kept for best or a rainy day...
  • Hi All

    More random sorting today:

    Day 9 - 22 items

    1. Clock
    2. China bowl
    3-4. Two pairs sugar tongs
    5. 1 wooden plaque
    6. Ornament
    7-10. 4 vases
    11-13. 3 drinking glasses
    14. Empty wooden box - a lot of procrastinating about this, it might come in useful....
    15. Mirror
    16. Magazine for mum
    17. Card that Amazon gift card was in
    18. Dead laptop power lead
    19. Pair of gardening shoes that fell apart
    20. Birthday card for my dad
    21. Birthday present for my dad that I had been storing for a couple of months
    22. Ice cream tub and lid - again, might be useful.....

I'm going up to my mum and dad's tomorrow for a few days so won't be at home to kondo, but I'll play catch up again when I get back.

I'm glad someone asked about the 'under the drive' comment... I too had been wondering, imagining all sorts of things!!! (Like dead bodies.....!)

Have a good few days kondoing everyone
Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

  • Such generosity What a lovely bunch - iqueen, silvasava and others for their kindness.

It is great giving things to a charity shop but there is something special about being able to give a friend or even an acquaintance something that they really want.

Got Christmas Cards, paper and gift tags down from loft - saw the benefit of January's cull and tidy. Ample wrapping paper and cards but far more gift tags than I will use in a lifetime so a lot of them bagged up for CS. About 30 Christmas gift bags to dil as she can use them for delivering her Crafts.

Away from tomorrow until Friday but slowly making progress with paperwork.

  • Ahhh those dolls are gorgeous - congratulations to LiseyLoo on having something in your home that sparks joy, and to iQueen for releasing them to bring happiness to someone else - which is what MK is all about!

What beautiful writing you have, too, iQueen.

  • Gorgeous dolls Lisey Loo! We had a set when I was little - one was missing it's top half so they were always stacked but I loved playing with them. No idea if they were authentic (I suspect not) but given maternal family's Ukrainian heritage they felt very special, along with the painted eggs (wooden rather than blown and therefore more durable!). My Aunty has a whole basket. I have three on my mantelpiece which bring me great joy. They're going nowhere!

Plenty else to chuck out though!

Mrs M, Thank you for enlightening us about 'under the drive' - I personally had contemplated caves under some vertiginous drive

  • So I got the Pyrex oven dish to the CS and along with it went the other 3 clear Pyrex dishes I had. (I must - sheepishly - admit I replaced all of those with a LeCru covered stoneware casserole I found in TKMaxx, but one dish versus three?)

Today I have only kondoed used hankies (got the cold), two choc bars (down my throat) and watched two DVDs out of a boxset - boxset that will go to CS once I'm done with it.

Need to find six things to chuck tomorrow.

Loving the 'girls' story :D May they bring you much happiness Lisey Loo :)
iTwin what fabulous writing and a lovely gesture :D

After the car carp last week :( Now the boiler has broken and we have no heating but the plus side is its not cold today and we have a wood burner so not going to lose any sleep over it.
The man is coming out later and thinks a pump needs replacing so will be most likely spending the money saved on the little amount it took to fix the cars ;)

Onwards and upwards today have a nose around at some sheds :T Take the dog swimming, Post a E*ay parcel :D Stuff is still being kondoed from the house. Quicker than its coming in ! Which is a bonus.

I really am determined not to buy any type of clothing or footwear at all for the rest of this year and hopefully into next year ;)
My friend is dropping off a very joyful chair today for the bedroom which she no longer needs and then I can kondo the dining room chair which is there now :o Which brings me no joy :rotfl:

Have a joyful day all ;)

I have so many posts to catch up on, so forgive me if someone has already mentioned this... but I was in my local leisure centre yesterday and noticed they have some charity (British Heart Foundation, I think) collection bins out in the lobby. Never seen them before, so may be a special Christmas appeal. But they had those magical "bric a brac" words on them. So may be worth checking out if you have one nearby and struggling to donate elsewhere?
