I have decided to join in after a recommendation on another thread! Told OH and hes raring to go! Already chucked out a load of clothes and reorgnaised his wardrobe! I hadn't got the folding technique clear though so we haven't done that yet, also we haven't put all our clothes out and sorted through properly (a lot is in the wash). I think I wasn't quite ready but with OH so keen I didn't want to slow him down!
I will look pu the folding and maybe try to do more tomorrow. Setting myself a goal to complete clothes by the end of the weekTrying to lose weight (13.5lb to go)0 -
I hope everyone on here has had a good weekend. I've been busy painting again: painting the floor of my cabin/summerhouse and finishing off a 3 drawer pine unit I bought at an auction. It was pine coloured, I have painted the carcass white and the drawer fronts orange, and will buy some crystal knobs for the drawers, then it is destined for our bathroom.
Got through lots of pairs of latex gloves today, also foam paint rollers, as the paint used for the cabin is toxic stuff and doesn't clean off. I'm not happy about binning them but there's not much else we can do with them.
Playing catch-up with Mins Game.
Day 7 - 24 items (doing it backwards)
1. Dead coriander plant - was a living one but used half of it for soup and it didn't carry on living!
2. Plastic pot it came in
3. Soggy biscuits out for birds
4. Split plastic tub biscuits were in - binned
5 to 8 Four paint roller heads
9 to 11 Three pairs painted-covered latex gloves
12 to 13 Two strips mini paints that I won't use, the type that come with painting by numbers
14. Dried up, scratchy pen that I am fed up with trying to get to write
15. Paint roller handle covered in sticky yukky paint
16. Paint tray ditto as above
17 to 20 Four plaster shapes of starfish and shells - going to charity shop
21 Out of date sterilising tablets - who knew they had a best before date?!
22 Totally useless pack of waxing strips - a piece of sellotape did a better job!
23 Fridge magnet
24 Papers to do with my recent jury service shredded
Day 8 - 23 items
1. Bottle of baby oil gel
2 & 3 Drinking glasses
4 to 8 China jugs
9 to 11 Teacups
12 Teapot
13 to 15 3 glass dishes
16 to 20 Saucers
21 to 23 Plates
All the above china and glass is from what I bought over the summer at boot sales and charity shops with the aim of creating a vintage tea shop look in my cabin. Looking through it all though, I have way too much so can part with some of the less joy-sparking items.
That's me up to date: will have to start taking some of this down to the charity shop now before it starts to clutter up the spare bedroom again!Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

A joyful day today
We lit a massive fire which brings me so much joy you wouldnt believe :rotfl:I am the twisted fire starter
Garage cleared  Old table, old cabinet not worth doing anything with as sadly they had died in storage been there over 11 years waiting for me to do something with them:oWell I have now they both went on the fire:D
A lovely plant pot which I had never known what to do with, Broken by mistakebut at least the debate has been taken out of my hands.
loads and loads of stuff gone and I feel so good about it.
Told DH today if I am staying in this house I want a shed a perfect little shed to store things I need in a nice orderly kondo fashion.Such as Chicken food, gardening tools etc as at the moment they are in garage which leaks and isnt ours.
Also told him it will be a damn sight cheaper than moving :rotfl:So will be sorting that out sooner rather than later and s*d what anyone else thinks.
Signed up to help at a wildlife charity fundraiser all day next SaturdayWhich will bring me joy and do a lot of good in the process
Also I am NOT buying one present for anyone at Christmas I am going to donate bales of hay to help feed the rescued animals instead. Everyone can just lump it :rotfl:Coz I dont care
After getting to the route of the clothes problem I feel so much better and I will end up like jinny with that capsule wardrobe.its just going to take me slightly longer

Hello joyful Konverts!!!
Sounds like a good positive week/weekend has been had by all & congrats and hugs to those who are due congrats & hugs
I'm still in the middle of moving with my poorly shoulder. Will attempt more proper hardcore Kondoing once I'm totally moved into the new place, right now it's chucking stuff in boxes & trying not to procrastinate time!!!
I missed the postie on Sat, so will try & get to the sorting office tomorrow & Kondo my lovely dolls from there...assuming that's what he tried to deliver :T
Can't wait to see them ensconced Chez Lisey Loo...and yes I know it's the reverse of what our leader says...but they are already bringing me joy courtesy of the very generous iQueen

Last year a dear friend gave me two little coffee mugs with chickens on (yup, more chickenabilia - it could just as easily have been cats or bees). I don't drink espresso coffee, but I put them on the kitchen dresser, and as she calls in quite often, I hadn't liked to Kondo them even though they don't get used.
Yesterday another friend hosted a get-together and asked if we could bring some coffee cups as all hers are in storage. Friend #1 stood next to me as I unwrapped these and said 'oh, how cute - where did you get them?' She clearly has no idea that she gave them to me, and didn't recognise them. Lesson learned.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0 -
Back again after catching up on the last few weeks of news. Some very moving stories have been shared, hugs to all who might need one. There has also been some marvelous progress, and some new folks joining the good ship Kondo, hello :hello: !
Well I've finally made a proper start on paperwork (many many months after starting KM) and cleared out three bags of recycling this weekend, plus the shredder is full. The paperwork box can probably take a bit more clearing out but I am pleased with progress so far. I need to find a good storage solution for the remaining papers. Currently it's all in a Really Useful Box and I think I need to get some rough dividers in there (i.e. car, utilities, banking). I will wait and see for the moment rather than go and spend a fortune on un-necessaries.
Quite a few random odds and ends have also gone into the bin and donations bag this weekend. I need to make a push to get the last things done, and have a bit of a rearrange in the lounge to make it more fit for purpose.
I am doing my best to keep the ratio of things out: things in up.
I have bought a few Christmas tree decorations this week, and new tree lights. The lights are a replacement, the decorations are additions but they are really beautiful and will spark joy when I have them out.

Morning all
Hope everyone had a great weekend.
Mavvy next Saturday sounds brill, have fun and bring joy!
It's entirely up to you what you do at Christmas and if you want to donate to good causes that's your prerogative and the good cause should be one dear to you.
House non move idea sounds very sensible and joyful, you could get you shed sorted for less than a solicitor would charge in fees! Then there's the money you'll save on removal men etc so make your dream home whe you are if that will bring you joy.
Busy this afternoon so need to fit stuff in this morning, I've got to make a list of all the things I need/want to get done before Christmas as I've suddenly thought of quite a few that are required but are rather time consuming.
Have a joyful day allSPC~12 ot 124

Thank you MrsMP Yes I know you are right
I am back on the wagon now and I am not shopping for anything apart from a shed
Yes I think the Bales of Hay are a really good idea its for 'hillside' Which as you would know is only down the road for me and they do a fantastic job on very limited funds.
So no tat given as presents from me this year and no braving the shops :rotfl:Which in its self is joyful dont you think.
I have already lit the fire this morning to dry the washing the old fashioned way.The dog is in his glory fire lit in the morning such a treat for him :rotfl:He is very content snoring away.
Going to take the left over (from the Autumn fayre) bric a brac to its new home today to a lady who raises funds for another very good charity. So sharing it around:) We raised over £1000 at our fayre;) So pass on the good foutune to someone else.
I am going to start decorating soon  The spare bedroom needs doing so I will start there
Have a joyful day all
