Because I've slowly been kondoing away at other stuff he's started to see the light and the space emerging. My friend was helping him to master handstands on Friday and commented he needed more room to roll out, so Saturday he suggested going through the videos with a view to clearing some space, a few have been saving but it's fractional to what will be leaving.
We a slowly working through the DVDs and watching them but now if we aren't going to watch it again it is being given away to friends/family or put in the CS bag. Have huge amounts of them as well, but it's getting under control.
I'm not sure if I've actually watched 800 films in my life but I think oh's cd and DVD collection put together was probably getting close to 500 at one point so not far behind. I absolutely love it that the incentive for your dh to kondo is being able to do handstands - that's ace0 -
8 items out today; however, I was only ever their temporary home as it was stuff I was collecting to take to my Mum's. Drat!

Had a woo day yesterday, we were told to be in at 2pm but nothing else. At the allotted time all five kids arrived along with a couple of partners mil and a photographer, they'd got together and organised an early Christmas pressie of two hours with the photographer we get a disc of all photos and they are going to get us a canvas of one of the prints at Christmas. TBH it was just so lovely getting everyone together that was present enough. We took them all for a meal afterwards. We see them all regularly but just not all at the same time. Dd3 was so impressed with her she was asking About having wedding photos done in the same style. definitely woo. One of the photos is on Twitter but I don't know how to copy it onto here.SPC~12 ot 124

Good evening everyone.
I haven't caught up with reading the posts yet, still a couple of days behind, but expecting a phone call so posting while I can.
I am missing the randomness of playing the mins game. When I open a drawer or cupboard I am still getting rid of things but feel bad not counting them out.
I am getting bored with paperwork having spent all week with boxes, files and stacks of papers all over the front room. At least I have been able to leave it out from day to day as DS who usually takes up residence there is away and DD1 is also away so no GD to childmind. My first week off in almost two years.
I thought I had dealt with all the difficult work related stuff earlier in the year, but I still found letters to and from my bully of an ex boss from 15 years ago that brought me to tears again. Still they have all been shredded now together with copies of solicitors letters to an ex colleague stalker from way back in 1987 that were in the bottom of a box.
I am still having difficulty getting rid of as much as I should, but have reduced my MSc papers to one file and those for a management course from 5 down to 3 and now to 2. It does lift my spirits to see evidence of my achievements during the time I was being bullied, i think I only managed it to prove to her I could.
Will get back to reading now as even I am fed up with my moaning.0 -
Evening all.
Well, a totally joyful day. I pottered at home in the morning, one pal came over for a chat, then made bread rolls and left to prove and went to another pal's who had the fire lit and we toated crumpets (YS crumpets, too) and knitted and nattered and several other people came by to share.
Stuff was distributed informally, yarn, clothing, craft materials coming and going in the gang, and some crafting also done, plus lots of chat. A perfect Sunday.
I could have gone up town and gone shopping *shudders*.:rotfl:Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Help please xYou need to look for 'acid free' albums, Debs, a good stationers/ photography shop should be able to provide. Photos shouldn't be stacked in piles or stored where they will be subject to fluctuating temperatures - lofts get hot in summer and cold in winter and aren't ideal. PVC pouches/ sleeves aren't good, cellophane is more neutral. Even treasures clothing should be wrapped in acid free tissue paper and stored in acid free cardboard boxes for storage. I've done no end of this stuff as a volunteer at a museum.
We've been sharing some old family photos by copying them among the extended family; last year I got to meet two ladies who share a set of great-grandparents with me and they were thrilled with some copies of a pic of them, as they had none.
If you share copies of old family pix, clearly labelled, across the wider family, you reduce the chances of losing them to accidents etc. HTH.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

So I have just kondoed a couple of hours looking at photos.
Sorry, Marie, the photos are staying, even the hideous ones of me...
I think I'd better leave them alone for a while, or nothing will get done
So I lied
I have managed to combine two albums into one. There are loads more but this is positive stuff.I wanna be in the room where it happens0
