    :) Morning all.

You can relax, PWD, I haven't got superpowers (haven't even got a webcam, lol) it's just things tend to be more similar than dissimilar in our lives.

I've never bothered to own a digital camera and have pretty much given up taking photos, apart from a few of my allotment each year, which are for my interest only, as a progress-record.

I realised that almost no one else is interested in your pix, and if you're not interested yourself, what is the point? I tend to buy a couple of postcards of places I visit to get that wonderful scenery or that historic building in glorious technicolour, and call it a day. I pop the postcards up on the stereo to enjoy as a sort of gallery and switch them for others when the mood strikes.

I've often noticed that many of us are so busy photographing our trips or major life events that we forget to savour the experience in real time. I tell myself that I have a memory, and that can hold a lot more than any memory card or photo album ever will.:rotfl:

Today, I'd love to be kondo-ing but have to go to work and then to kondo some errands afterwards, one is a favour to a friend. No biggies but lots of little things can suck away a surprising amount of time. When I come home, I shall decide which of the deserving freeglers will get a share of the current offering (always a hard call) and then get them outta here before I put up the next items. Have some stuff from the hometown to package up a bit for the chazzer and then that can go at the weekend.

Today, I shall be wearing a joyful top which was given to me by Mum. She bought it a year or so ago for an event and decided that it's too distinctive to come out again and can come live with me. I like it a lot and propose to get a lot of use out of it, starting in about an hour.

:o Oh, and she found the charity draw tickets yesterday, the ones which have been lost for weeks. They were on a piece of furniture, right by her elbow as she sits in her armchair. Where they'd been all along and also the same spot where she mislaid a book for a few weeks.

I am introducing her to the idea that if you're better organised (which you can't be with so much clutter) things like this don't happen and you don't have such a stressful life. It may be starting to sink in......... fingers crossed.

Have a good day, lovely peeps. GQ x

Still feeling a bit off so kondoed my email yesterday, I unsubscribed from loads of things that I don't even look at and deleted everything else...I had over 5000 emails and it took ages. I also removed myself from some groups on FB, my brain just seems to want less and less stuff in all areas of my life now.
The woo is also carrying on here :) my Oh, who got rid of some t shirts yesterday, went out last night and cleaned the garage. I am in shock as he loves the stuff in there as much as he does the kids haha oh long may this continue, thank you Marie goddess of clearing :)

I'm reading day 5 of the one month of minimalism

I'm having a rare energy burst day today despite the gloomy weather:j
I posted earlier that I make list every morning but I pick only 3 tasks
Some other poster found this helpful
I think I may stretch to more than 3 tasks today we will see.

Today's reading on the minimilists month
Is all about having a morning ritual

I'm tempted to sit around procrastinating and binge read more
But I feel reading only one each morning gives me a good start to my day. I do still get up at 5:30/6am despite being retired so I have time to do my morning ritual
(involves a vat of tea)before the world/house wakes up. I'm not a night owl so can do my best thinking time in the mornings.

A well meaning friend whom I introduced the the arts of MK
Just didn't get it she has asked me if I want to come over to see if I want anything(carp) from her kondoing that's stacked in her garage:eek:
    Noooooooooo thank yooooooou
Didn't she read the bit about MK dumping her unwanted stuff
    Onto her sister?

    Have a lovely day everyone:wave:

Morning all I have had a pretty unjoyful car week this week

Monday Dads car wouldnt start (he is on our AA ) Phoned them they went out and got it started :) It had got damp where it had been sat for 3 weeks :o So all good. Same day power steering went on DH car.AA phoned again got it to the garage but its a part that is only 6 months old replaced by a garage 30 miles from here as thats where he broke down.

So he borrowed Dads car until he can get his back to the other garage. Dad needed his last night so we took his back with me following to bring him home.

Stopped on the way back at the supermarket I ran in and picked up some bits we needed. Came out to a terrible smell of petrol yep you guessed it my car leaking petrol everywhere in the car park. After removing the dog who was with me from the car as DH had left him in the car  AA phoned again :rotfl:Lucky enough a man in a van lives near me and took me and the dog home with 35kg of dog sitting on my lap.DH waited for AA.

DH arrived home with my car as a pipe or something had come off AA had never seen one come off before (typical) So needs a new pipe thingy.

This morning DH leaves to drive his car to garage 30 miles away you guessed it he has broken down 3 miles away  AA called now on a tow truck being taken to the garage :rotfl:

So I would just like to write this week off and get to next week pretty quickly ;) Now got to take my car to the garage hoping I do not need to stop near anyone smoking

Edited to say DH is now in the garage loan car on his way to work so fingers crossed all is ok

    Morning Konverts! :coffee:

I must agree with you, GQ!

I have very few photographs, because snapping was an expensive pastime in the 70s and 80s, and only happened on the annual holiday, or special occasions. And then, the content was carefully chosen, before pressing the button! :D

I feel that universal ability to snap anywhere, anytime, has, sadly, devalued photographs. The Family Album used to be cherished, and people often said it would be the one item they would save from a burning home.

When my family put their photos online, I pick out the ones that really bring me joy, to save. We all have different tastes, but my personal album is not intended to appeal to the World and his wife! :rotfl:

Now, let's see where I can make a kondo difference today - so many places, so many choices! :rotfl:

  • Wow Mav - you really have got your money's worth out of that AA membership. I can see them all in a board meeting next week scrutinising the accounts and wondering about that profit dip!

GQ - it's a fair cop - I'm not famous but you read so much about id theft in the news that you can end up paranoid! I will recycle with a local charity. Had a quick look on line and I really don't think they are worth much but at least it will protect the environment.

Really need to sort my current phone out as it is out of contract. Will go sim only and then when my iPhone dies I'm going to think hard about whether I need a smart phone or not.
  • Absolutely agree with the above - people take photos rather than see the scene, and taking photos has become devalued.

I have some collages (just photos stuck in clip frames) of friends and family which bring me joy, and I'm going to focus on these sort of things I think, the point of photos is to look at them, not stick them in a box!

ETA: sorry to hear about your car problems, Mavvymoo

It never rains, but it pours, iTwin! Let's hope that's the end of your share of car probs. :)

Yep, jinny, I think it was I, who commented on your daily short-list of 3 to-dos. I also keep a second list of tasks to do, 'when I get round tuit'. Then, if I find extra energy and motivation, I can tackle one of them without any pressure. :D

Whinge Warning! My problem, now the weather's changed, is all the aches, pains, and stiffness, that interrupt my night's sleep. It takes me 1-2 hours to 'get going' in the mornings, as my Grandmother would say. :rotfl: What a pain! :D

(NO sympathy required, Konverts - my aging ailments don't need encouragement! :rotfl:)

Have a good day, Everyone! :)
