More great posts, sorry I've not had time to respond to them and will no doubt omit intended comments due to being a laggard!
Mrs M-P, respect for keeping the Mins going. You must be feeling joyous and the rooms must be getting 'lighter'.
GQ - you are right about the mistakes sniggering at us from under our noses or even from their hidey holes. I realised that letting the noise continue is the otherside of the joyful coin.
Dispense with the mistakes and revel in the 'out of [STRIKE]sight[/STRIKE] house, out of mind' freedom :j
Glad the woo is back for various posters, positive vibes to others. It is amazing what comes
along completely out of the blue and more joyful times roll round. Despite tribulations with family health and job worries I think a corner is being turned at Chez MMF. Probably just relaxing a bit now the 'noise' is diminishing.
Still plenty of kondo-ing to do but I am enjoying it. The mindset is, as many have commented, very positive, the necessary decisions are non-judgemental, and the very real achievements feel so good!!
I have no kondo regrets (haven't missed anything that has been set free), except that I would have preferred to have progressed a little more quickly but, as for all, RL gets in the way
Just got to use GQ's secret potion (for it must be!!) to infect DH and parents and I'll be over the moon :rotfl:
Kind thoughts and best wishes to everyone,

Re those with unwanted body lotion
I just remembered this from another site
If you rub a pea sized amount of lotion on the palms of your hands then into the ends of your hair it stops static and dryness
I had tried this but forgot how it tamed my dry poufed up frizzy ends
As long as I don't use too much or run it Ito scalp or skin I am fine
I did the first time I tried it and ended up like frank Gallagher from shameles:rotfl:”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)
Put on some lipstick
and pull yourself together”

Thanks to all those posting insightful comments, I wish I could be so inspired.
I think my loft and garage could give GQ's parents' a run for their money despite masses of stuff already gone.
I am trying to think what has really been worth keeping for many years and can only come up with a few examples, and even then it wouldn't have been the end of the world if I hadn't.
I don't think I ever intended that the things would be stored long term, just 'for now' until someone (who?) asked for them, or I changed my colour scheme again.
My sister sold all her baby equipment as soon as she had finished with each stage, all good condition and current models.
I kept mine for over 10 years after my first child before giving it all to my nephew. They had two in quick succession, and my second was born about the same time as theirs. I couldn't really ask for it all back.
Perhaps that started me off, but there was definitely no prospect of a fourth for me by that time! Maybe the eldest would need it, but then she didn't have her first until mid thirties.0 -
Hello all, I am back.
Feeling terrible after the dreadful air affecting my sinus and lungs as well as 18 hours of journeying.
No kondo news - just came to moan :rotfl:
Actually, I have. I got so bored on my last flight that I read my industry magazines. Left 8 of them from July and August on the plane :T
House seems to have stayed tidy :T
Back when more human, have a great weekendI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

I have curly hair, and dds have half African hair. They each use one hotel bottle of conditioner per wash, so this is a great idea; thanks!Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -
I answered yes to one thing on that clutter quiz - buying presents without a definite recipient in mind. About half of them I used to do, and have I didn't do but have lived with others who did do them.
At my hoarder-ex's place this evening, and trying to not look round too much!:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A0 -
Evening all.
Have managed to get back onto my local freegle group, after much stropping to myself yesterday when my activation email went missing in t'interwebs for 20 hours. Have three items up for the past hour and someone after one of them already. Fingers crossed for the others, this was stuff brought up from the parental home yesterday.
I think the issue with kid paraphenalia for many parents is that by the time you're quite sure there won't be any little additions to the family, your eldest are heading towards their own childbearing years and you hang onto the stuff for the grandchildren..............
Only your kids (or their other halves) mightn't want it for the DGC, it might have died in storage, it might be incompatible with new safety regs. Probably better to let things go in real time.
Touched base with the parents to thank them again for their assistance and Mum continues to astonish, remarking that whatever you've spent on something is long gone, she's not minded to try and sell stuff, rather just give it away to someone who needs it.Again, I'm left wondering which puppet-mistress is using her voice to express, as if she has always held these views, previously unmentionable thoughts. Can't wait to get over there next weekend and kick some serious clutter out of that loft. Dad did remark about the stuff they hiffed out of The Cupboard of Doom (which is in their bedroom but stretches back over the stairwell) that it was amazing the weight of stuff hadn't brought the ceiling down.
Once I have finished with the loft, I am hoping that the house will rise a few mm on its foundations as it breathes a sigh of relief.
Pal is due to come for knitting machine tomorrow, unless something unforeseen turns up.:TEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
