Congratulations, purpleposting4, on kondoing your job. Something better will turn up if you keep a positive attitude - the 'woo factor'!
No idea how it works, but quite a few of us on here have noticed that things appear 'out of the blue', when we are positive and have noticed change in ourselves, along with our homes. From windfalls, to new opportunities, and things we need. :j
I must admit, that I did freelance market research in the 70s. Stopping people in the street and asking questions about dog food or beer was not a problem, but ringing people was a bit unnerving, even in the days before our present cold-call problems, when people were usually happy to answer questions about what newspaper they read, or TV programmes they watched.
The final straw was ringing GPs to ask about a medical journal. Some were downright rude, and I don't blame them - I was instructed to ring them during surgery time! I felt awful.
All jobs are probably carp sometimes, but if a job really doesn't have any saving graces, it's time to look for something more joyful.Sending you woo vibes!

I'm watching DVDs while kondoing chocolate and doing cross stitch today.
I'm trying to knit a simple st st baby tunic, (Leaf Love, on Rav free) with a simple lace panel down the centre front... top down, 4 raglan increases, 10 row lace, and numerous reps of some of the full rows. I've had to make a check-list of rows, lace rows, reps, and stitch count. It could be me, but it seems harder to get my head round than a 40 row Aran!
Took me an hour last night to work out (after ripping back 3 times) why I had 2 sts more than I should have... 1 lace row has them! Not good on only row 6! :rotfl:Hmm, perhaps I should do some cross-stitch Chr****** cards, but GD1 will be arriving first!Needs, NOT wants!

Today I had my CT colonoscopy virtual and I am hoping my GP will have my results on Friday although it will be a few weeks before I am recalled to the hospital to hear the results and see what they are for doing next - hopefully nothing wrong so nothing to do.
I got my results, they are clear and I am delighted. :j
:grouphug: to all those who need them and are going through similar.
However, yesterday was our Alsatian's 14th birthday and I noticed at the weekend she wasn't herself but with my procedure being on Tuesday and having to stay at home the day before it and the day after it we did not get her to the vets until yesterday evening. The vet said our dog has DCM and gave us a course of two tablets. At the moment she is still doing everything she always does just a little slower. We went back to the vets this morning and the vet said we need to prepare ourselves for the inevitable because our dog only has a few weeks left if thatand she prescribed another tablet which may help with the DCM but it will be a week before we know. Our dog is now on three tablets and has to go back to the vets on Thursday.
Today is a mixed day - glad I got the all clear but life without our dog who we have had since she was 6 weeks old isn't going to be easy and to be truthful I don't even want to think about it although I know I need to. The vet says at the moment she isn't suffering and that when we took her in yesterday evening she wouldn't have known she is the age she is and she definitely didn't think she would be making that diagnosis for our dog.0 -
Jo4, glad you got the all clear, sorry to hear about your poor dog. I still miss my cats after many years.0

They are just part of the family.
Although she is a very good guard dog she watches the tv with us, she wraps the door knocker when she wants us out to play, she stands on her back legs to shake hands / paws with us, she doesn't allow anyone in unless we stay it is alright, she doesn't like the deers or cows coming too near the house, when I totally lost my sight she was my eyes and alerted me to anything or anyone, although she is outside she can follow us throughout the house even though the blinds and curtains are closed and without us speaking or putting on lights and she sits at the window of the room we are in until we go to a different room even when we go to the bathroom, she is just our world.0 -

Great news about your results, jo4, not good about your poor dog
. (((hugs)))
Have several things in my flat which don't belong here and will spend part of tomorrow getting rid of them. And there were a couple more things which were supposed to be coming but there wasn't room in the car, so it would have been even worse. The poor chazzers won't know what hit them.:rotfl:
We did the gardening, which involved re-purposing three heavy slabs as a base for the cold frame, which itself was moved away from the back of the allotment where it gets swamped with nettles and brambles coming over from the back of the plot behind. Have now got it more sensibly situated further down and accessible.
Found a vacated tree bumblebee nest inside the cold frame which was interesting. I knew they were in there as had seen them to-ing and fro-ing in the summer, hence waiting so long to move it.
Also uncovered was the rusty remains of a fireguard, which I had thought had been taken to the tip long ago. It went today, along with the lump of concrete and two bags of nasty weeds like horsetails. Things are now looking pretty darned good up there. I will sort out the brambles and nettles to dry them off for a few months and then burn them.
Ooof, but I am a tired one tonight.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I have not been slacking with mins, just tardy with posting. I actually lost my paper lists at the weekend and found the notebook down the back of the bed on Tuesday.
Day 14 Wednesday
1 to 3. Box of papers from DD2 house move - important mail returned to her, junk RC, envelopes to bin.
4 to 6. Three tubs of spread she brought home when she moved, kept as I thought I could use it for making bird cake with GD, can't be used so had to go in the bin.
7. BT phone book RC
8. Another pot of hand cream
9 and 10. Two large pieces fabric RC
11. 2007 homework diary, paper RC, metal spiral HWRC
12. Rusty edged dart board
13. Blackboard
14. Child's paintbrush all glued up
Day 15. Thursday
Wanted to get some big stuff moved on, so DS opened the main, hardly used door of the packed garage.
1 and 2. Long sides of old cabin bed that would not fit in the car when we took the rest of it
3 and 4. Metre long metal wall mountings for shelving
5. Piece of plastic drain pipe
6 and 7. Canework waste paper baskets
8. Large piece of old underfelt
9 to 13. Two headboards, 2 foot ends and one bedguard from metal toddler beds
14 and 15. Two pices of electrical flex from old irons with plugs attached0 -
Well done to those kondoing negativity from their lives
Great news Jo re your results but so sorry to read about your dog.
Decided to get step mum a hamper of bird food for Christmas as her and dad love feeding the birds so it will come in useful but not add clutter.
Mum usually asks for something sensible or likes a hamper for herself as money is tight for her. Last year her to seems on the blink so I gave her cash in a jewellery box and said to put it towards to. To survived so she used it to buy new curtains as hers were well worn (and have gone to the rag bank)
Can't believe the weekend has come round again, half term flew by.SPC~12 ot 124

Jo4 Glad your results were good but so sorry to hear about your poor dog. I also know I am going to have to face this soon
and TBH I get so choked even thinking about it. My DH worked away for so long it was just me and my Dog for years. He is part of the family and will never be anything else.
Changing the subject pretty sharpish nowWe have viewed a house today
And I love love love it. It needs a new roof, complete rewiring and has no heating at all :rotfl:Been empty for agent says months I say years and is bl**dy perfect :rotfl:
meeting someone tommorow who can give us a ball park figure on the price of the work  and will take it from there.
You would have to be a kondo fan to live there as no real garden :TThe shed is on the parking area (so would go) vaulted ceiling so no loft :rotfl:No storage to speak of.
So only kondo fans would be interested in it or builders :rotfl:Not getting my hopes up to much as going to be a long project.
But the woo things that have happened today are quite spooky
I will tell you the first one DH pointed it out in agents window I had been looking at it online but never said anything as I thought he would say it needed too much work.So I had arranged to go and look with a friend next week so I could suss it out.He said pop in and get the details which I did. Then the agent then said we have an open house on this at 1pm until 2pm we have a lot of people booked to see it.If you fancy coming.I said we might.DH said later we will go and have a look no harm in looking. We went and not one other person came to view it and we know as we were there for the whole hourit was open
Best was he loves as well and said I would be very happy to live here
