Well I was very naughty and slipped out of my kondoe ways as I went to an event over the weekend and there was freebies and it would be rude not to get any. So today I am tidying up and picked up two flimsy bottle bags. Old me thought they might come in handy but luckily new me wrestled old me to the ground and said what + when would you realistically use them. In bin ready for collection day tomoz. However we all do a basket at work and sell them to raise money so I cam going to use some bits to make a wine themed one!
Still not much work on my zero hours contract so had time to get and keep house straight, have made a pile of things to tackle tomorrow!Don’t put it down - put it away!

Passed a bootload of stuff on to a friend today for a pop-up CS in October. Not quite as random as VJ's mum but here goes:
1. 3 x wooden model boats from the old bathroom
2. 2 x glass fridge-door jugs that have lost their tops
3. 2 potties (i have no kids)
4. Child's toilet seat (see above)
5. Changing mat (ditto)
6. 2 x bathroom mirrors that another CS wouldn't take because they have corners. This one will either sell or use them so people can try stuff on
7. soap dish holder, tooth glass holder and chrome bath/basin plug
8. 3 DVDs given to me by an ex I'd rather forget
9. Bag of clothes I have shrunk out of and don't want to grow back into
10. White wood toilet seat (only 2 years old, bleached and scrubbed, like the potties and kids toilet seat) as I'd bought a new one for the cloakroom and moved the one in there to the ensuite
I still have some chairs and a filing pedestal for them in they want them...0 -
iQueen sorry to hear your SIL news.0

I'm so relieved to hear others have the same sort of random stuff as I do. I look at some of the stuff I've collected and wonder how on earth I ended up with it!
VJsmum, I found the AS paint was lumpy (yes, I did stir it!) and it didn't give good coverage, considering the price I was quite disappointed. I ended up using emulsion as a base coat, several coats rubbed down in between, and then eggshell paint for a topcoat with natural beeswax polish on top. i would do that again rather than buy an expensive brand. Still your sideboard looks fabulous so maybe it's just me!Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0 -

I hope everyone is as well as can be
All bins put out so can start filling them again next week.
Really busy today, tbh I'm very happy about that, it's one of those changes kondoing has made to my life. (Not the morning part obviously as that's ds2s orthodontist appt but hopefully he will Kondo his brace this morning) this afternoon I've beenoffered extra hours so woo me!
May hopefully Kondo a big bag of paperwork if I can carry it.
Have a joyful day allSPC~12 ot 124

You may be relieved to hear that I have to do a bit of a Min's game cheat today. I am not home over the weekend so here is days 18 / 19 / 20 - a total of 57 items
Therefore I am counting individual items rather than "a box of.."
3 christmas crackers (I am sick of looking at them in the cupboard, hoping they don't get dented (one already is) - and there are 4 of us!)
1 piece of Knex (the other stuff got donated ages ago)
1 Kokopelli (american folk character) bookmark
1 expired bus pass of DS
2 YHA membership cards - expired 2 years ago
48 knackered pens and pencils - or those which are just horrible to use (told you i was cheating - and you wont believe how many we have left)
1 ski map of the Alps
2 souvenir beer mats
1 newspaper article on walks in the Peak district (dated April 2012) - we have never done any of those walks, despite being fairly close to the Peak District and walking there.
1 small used paint brush
2 expired train passes
1 additional small remote for ... something
2 room keys for the intercity hotel in Magdeburg from 2013 - I have never been to Magdeburg :rotfl: - I assume OH must have on one of his lads trips
2 tickets for the Paris Metro
1 additional small bag of foreign coins (how many is that now?)
1 sheet of perspex used as a cake board for OH's 50th birthday, OH is now 56
3 tickets from a Cardiff City match in 2013
1 booking confirmation from a holiday we took in 2013
2 bits of random plastic - purpose unknown
1 craft knife - had a decade, never used
1 set of miniscule cookie cutters - no-one would appreciate cookies so small
78 items in total :T Almost all of which were just on top of our office desk.
Edit - I just pulled the crackers. They contained a small bag of marbles, one of those floppy fish things that curls up in your hand (if you thought your life was incomplete without instant railroad capsules....) and a pencil sharpner - which is a shame, cos I just got rid of all the pencils :rotfl:I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
VJsmum I am still loving the randomness of your mins game lists :rotfl:
The Christmas crackers made me laugh as I got rid of about 3 when I started my kondo they had been there for ages and we always forgot to pull them at Christmas :rotfl:
Its strange how you work with this type of stuff as my crackers had been there in a cupboard for at least 3 years but the Henry wheel was gone in about 24 hours once I decided no-one knew anything about itI mean thinking about it where did I think it came from ? It wasnt there and then 2 mins later it was. Oh well something I need to think about
Had a phone call yesterday evening from a random company who could save me millions on my bills
So the confused 'Nan' started giving the poor bloke her shopping list:rotfl: As I thought he was my 'helper' including half a pound of Tripe, pigs trotters, That nice White stuff 'lard' :rotfl: and he put the phone down when I said T*na ladies and make that the thick ones :rotfl:
I did have to try really hard not to laugh as the above is just the jist of how it went as I was very hard of hearing and tried to make him repeat the list just to make sure he had heard me :rotfl:I sure he did as I was shouting down the phone
How joyful to get a call I havent had one since 'Gary' :rotfl:

:T Mavvy, you ever seen a copy of a book called The Timewaster Letters? I think it has a sequel, too. It's this bloke who writes all these crazy letters to organisations.
I think you should write out the conversations you have with telesales people and publish when you have enough, it'd be such fun.
I have done 7 out of my 16 to-do's and made a cuppa for ma krew. If you're short of gassaferegister engineers, blame me cos I've got two of the country's supply right here............:rotfl:Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I love Robins 'The timewaster letters' :rotfl:I think they maybe what I think about when I am on the phone to these peopleI also read the 'The return of the timewaster letters' and that was awful
But the first one is brilliant and if you are feeling down it really does give you a laugh
The sad thing with me is I plan an idea in my head before I get that call so I am ready for them :rotfl:I have already got the next idea in my head.
But a lot does depend on the persons nameLike the Gary one I couldnt let that one go could I

I sorted through gift bags when I was doing the wrapping paper. I'd kept many that brought no joy at all and I wouldn't want to give to anyone (mostly twee, naff or garish). They went to CS. Yesterday I gave DGD a gift in a smart, plain bag and even then got a bit of a thrill when she packed assorted bits in it and took it home. Decided I'll start using up some of the many ribbons I have found in gift wrapping too.
Craft kondo is down to buttons now unless I find any more stuff squirrelled away. I've got two tins (mine and inherited from mam) to go through. I rarely need to find replacement buttons any more but some bring me joy. I might find a home for all the craft stuff and then make sorting buttons a winter job (need to make a list as they're building up). I'm thinking where the home might be as overhead cupboards are inconvenient. I may swap 'summer holiday abroad' clothes to overhead. Apologies for thinking aloud.:o
Interesting conversation about the sideboard. I have one almost identical which I wouldn't paint as the sheen of the wood brings me great joy. We're all different;).0
