Just been reading the posts I missed :rotfl:and this stood out
Someone asked me the other day if I've got rid of anything I regret? Nope - as detailed here, i can't even remember some of it on the same day it's left :rotfl:
A few years ago I was cleaning my house and found a wheel on the floor. Had no idea where it was from asked everyone and no one knew anything about it.So I chucked it outa few days later I was using Henry hoover yes you guessed it
He fell over as he only had 3 wheels

:rotfl: Mavvymoo, that's just made me spit my tea out! That and the spare left shoes!
Like others, I can hardly remember what I've thrown out. I did realise the other day that the huge glass casserole dish which never got used for casseroles and was despatched about six weeks ago, actually had a secondary purpose (uncapping honeycombs). I had a momentary wobble. Then I realised that I could perfectly well use another dish, and there'd have been no point keeping it for use once a year. It's the only thing that has caused even a momentary regret. Funny how making the decision to discard is so hard, the actual act of discarding is really easy after that.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Mins Game Day 14
1. Bunch of old CDs of artists we don’t listen to, many are without boxes and are scratched
2. Birmingham A-Z, in these days of Satnav etc, I don’t think we need it
3. A small statue of the Eiffel tower
4. A pot of foreign coins – some of which currency may not even exist anymore (zloty?)
5. An out of date fiver that needs to be exchanged at a bank
6. A random plastic Tupperware pot that was on the windowsill in office – now too old and brittle to keep and I don’t have the lid – it contained items 3-5 above (!!!!!!?)
7. Pile of old greetings cards
8. The cover of a Harry Potter book that i took off it to protect the cover (your guess is as good as mine as to why) - it has got so faded it looks awful. The book is fine :rotfl:
9. A hiking pole that DS bought on holiday years ago that has lain under his bed since then. It isn’t a practical “folding” sort, more an Alpine “sticky” sort
10. Some kiddy beaded costume jewellery- was going to the chazzer till the elastic of one went in my hand sending beads all over the floor . All now in bin.
11. Big bag of curtain rings for curtain poles we no longer have
12. Old SIMS games that the kids don’t want but have no boxes
13. A mat thing that you use with a cutter thing that I threw ages ago
14. Some old finance stuff that we didn’t need for tax
Again, there was more but this is what i remember.
It's weird, this is getting easier and easier rather than harder and harder.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Love that random list VJsmum :rotfl:
I will have to see if I can match that tomorrow0 -
A whole boot load went to the CS today, mostly ornaments and games! I have for many years kept a stash of presents going and decided that I should clear that out, now that we no longer have such a big fuss at Christmas. Some of my 'bargain' presents have spent years in the stash! I've kept a few for use this year and then intend to mostly empty the containers out.
Some of the things I unwrapped today from the loft were in ten year old newspaper! I felt quite sad that they'd been sitting around so long not being used.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -

Not sure if your Mum's stuff such as makeup is still usable, but maybe an option if you can find 'homes' where things are needed?
Thank you for this uk_american. Yes I will do that.Think I will say it will be good for a Charity shop and then kondo the make up in the nearest bin
But there is a lot of stuff that can go to charity and I am sure Dad said he was going to help a lady raise some funds for her DGD so I am sure he would be happy to see it going to herThats the way forward I think so thank you again

I came home and opened my mailbox to find I'd been left the phone book. I would have declined it if offered but I was at work and didn't see it coming. I've tried in the past to find a way of opting my address out of this and Yillow Piges but can't find a way (if you do know, pls tell). Ripped the plastic cover off and shuttled the directory and the leaflets inside right into the recycling bin.

The Phone Book was recently delivered here. For no reason at all, I looked for my own entry... NOT there!
I have never been ex-directory, and admit that I haven't checked my entry for many years.
The Phone book is produced 'by' BT.
I left the colossus BT, 4 years ago, albeit, for a satellite of the monster! Presumably, PNet customers pay such small subscriptions that they don't qualify for a Phone Book entry!Needs, NOT wants!
