Just finished going through the bedding. I thought I'd decluttered it not long ago but have managed to clear a huge pile for the charity shop. Got rid of all the pink girly stuff that my girls won't touch with a barge pole now. I was keeping them for an emergency... Not sure what, maybe Barbie coming to stay?!?

A torn sheet and stained duvet cover are going to go to textile recycling, rather than being stuffed into my already heaving pile of fabric for sewing. This is a major breakthrough for me!

I'm not exactly sure how to organise my towels. I have three different coloured sets - bath towels, hand towels and bath mat. I always stored them in sets, but realise it's more practical to sort them by size as people rummage through to find the size they want. So I've rolled the bath towels and folded the hand towels. Bath mats just folded at the bottom of the shelf - it's only me that changes them. Lots more towels in the tumbledrier at mo, so will have to wait to see if they all fit.

Going to change my bed now and call it a day...feel in the mood for a wine box tonight...just to create storage of course!

I have different bags for work and weekends so the light bulb moment for me was to round up all the bits I had in the bag I needed (tablets, lip gloss, folding brush, mirror, tissues, ear phones etc) and pop them in a see thru zipped bag - now I can just lift the zip bag from one handbag to another - great stuff.
As a result of my Kondoing I now have empty -
    ...

    That's a fab idea soon2bejobless, think I'll pinch that

Swapped over handbags this morning as I cam across an old bag I've not used for along while.

I found a handbag in my wardrobe which my daughter got rid of a while ago. I thought I'd use it, so started swapping my things into it, but it's too small, so it's gone into the charity bag.

On going through my paperwork I found a pension I took out years and years ago, but stopped paying into. Luckily my daughter has just started working for the insurance company, so I've asked her to see if she can find out anything about it, if it's still valid/who I should contact. Hopefully I can then condense all that paperwork into one sheet of paper.

It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

:) I'm sure Jeff Yeager, the Ultimate Cheapskate, said that the balloon bit from inside the wine box makes an excellent travel pillow.

See, two excellent reasons for hitting the box. Umm, that doesn't have quite the same ring as hitting the bottle, does it? :rotfl:

Hi Soon2bjobless - That's exactly what i do. I have a small clear pencil case which holds my daily makeup and tweezers etc which I use for work.
In the pockets of my weekend bag and daily bag I have the same things - tissues, headache tablets, TOTM things, spare pen and perfume. I leave these in the pockets and just take my clear makeup bag out and transfer into the other bag. I used to change purses as well but as I've now got a matching one with the weekend and going out bag I use it with my work bag as it was too much faffing around transferring money, cards, coupons and stamps.

I find this way best for knickers http://youtu.be/V9lj_g779Io. Ignore the gross looking pair of y fronts. Tucking the end in stops the sushi rolls unravelling in the drawer when you pull another pair out - a slight variation on Konmarie.

Having done wardrobes etc last weekend I've been snowed in so couldn't get to work, so have tackled the office. It has been a really sad couple of days. Lots of papers that represented a couple of businesses that didn't succeed, minutes of meetings of a group of us with wonderful plans that failed, other ideas that went nowhere, reminders of when my professional career was going well, so that I left work and became a sought-after consultant in the field. Loads of research papers to support all of that, both others' and my own. There's no point in keeping any of it, I have lost touch with my professional field now, I won't go back. Although I learned so much in business, I know I won't go there again either. All the papers, representing all those dreams, all that work, have gone now, apart from things like accounts etc.

Really sad, and I didn't want to let go of the past just in case someone asked me to do some work for them and those docs would be useful. Realistically I know they won't but it's hard and I feel very over the hill.

I also found a load of my children's things, school reports etc. The little stories and drawings certainly bring me joy, tinged with sadness that that life is also now gone. School reports don't bring me joy at all, they just remind me of what a poor parent I was. But I'm keeping those as well as the little cards etc my grandchildren have given me.

Memories are never happy, always sad, it seems to me.

Anyway, will get back to the knickers now. I've washed several since my initial blitz, all need folding again!!!

I'm starting on books tonight. They're piled in a heap on the front room floor. I Feel a bit sad about them already. They represent safety to me, as well as the money invested, I'm not sure...

Something good though - when I got up this morning I folded my jamas without even thinking about it!
Also last night I found some jama bottoms that OH left here 'just in case' that he's never worn - so I wore them last night, they're really comfy - and they have pockets! Why do men always get more pockets than ladies? It's hardly fair :rotfl: So they're mine now mwah ha ha!
