Doh! think I may have kondoed DS's nail biting stuff. And he's doing my head in! I can't find it anywhere- how can I stop him biting? He's getting mouth ulcers
Just sorted through the medicine shelf. Got some stuff to return to pharmacy when I collect DDs prescription later this week. And flung an ancient box of smints. Medicine???
My hair is tied up and annoying me. I plan for a drastic snip after my hols - but it goes frizzy so I want it long enough to tie up while we're away. I'm already planning it's demiseBossymoo

Evening All.
Kondoed my Tupperware jugs, some nice leather boots,a pair of pink plastic garden clogs and a pair of LTS red jeans that are too big for me to the Sally Army today. Got rid of a bag of cables and a load of cards, labels and postcards on freegle so the orifice is looking a bit tidier.
My Christmas and gift wrap etc is in a wallpaper bag in the top cupboard of the wardrobe in the orifice ( called that cos it seems to swallow everything!) Gifts are only bought for immediate family at Christmas & they're a small tree present as we give money for them to put towards something they would like. It's not such a cop out as they are all reasonably comfortable and don't need 'things'
Judi - I've grown my hair long and I do pull it back but only when I'm sailing or working in the garden!
Juliebunny - a close friend of 40+ years has distanced herself from me over the last couple of years with some rather 'sarky' remarks. I kept contact but she never used to call me and a couple of weeks ago I saw her and spoke to her & she was very dismissive. I'm hurt as I've never treated her badly in any way & I've supported her over the years enormously - she even asked me to read the eulogy at her Mums funeral. I'm at a loss to understand why but as she doesn't even want to say what is wrong I'm afraid I'll just have to let this friendship die although I am sad about it.
On a lighter note - I bought some washing gel tablet thingys today and I know I shall find a cunning use for the little plastic container they came in and it will give me great Joy!
Have a good evening all xSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
I've found my ruthless streak and have had another go at the study. It is starting to feel a lot better in there, almost like the room has breathing space now.
I finally admitted that I don't work very well at home, so I'm sending all of my school stuff back to my classroom. This alone has got rid of a huge stack of books etc. I have also further purged stationery and I'll be taking a lot into school. My new school year resolution is to bring as little work home with me as possible in a bid to improve my work/life balance. We'll see how that pans out. VJsmum - your poem struck a chord
Another bag of paper has been shredded and has gone out for the recycling collection tomorrow.
I've purged my recipe folder and it is now a fraction of its original size. I tend to cook by instinct/experience. It is very rare for me to follow a recipe unless I am baking. I don't need recipes for dishes I cook on autopilot! I also purged my Christmas magazine collection, keeping just a handful of cutouts instead of the whole pile.
I am going to get rid of my pin board (which is only used to display sentimental clutter), and plan on recycling the cork to make a 'command center' inside one of my kitchen cupboards. Something like this...
This will give me space to post our menu plan etc. without it making the kitchen look cluttered. I need to buy some no more nails and borrow some clamps from FIL to make this happen.
I've decided that the floor lamp which I never use can be added to my list of things to rehome via Gumtree. I suspect the desk lamp may meet a similar fate.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
Hi Guys....I've been a bit missing in action since getting on the MK tidying wagon.
I didn't do things quite as instructed, and started in the back room, which could loosely (very loosely) be called the utility room. Once tidied, had access to the 2nd washing machine that I've not used for 3+ years (it works when it feels like it). This has now been slung - I thanked it and patted it's top on the way to the tip.
Daughter than grabbed my credit card  and ordered a dishwasher (I've never had one before); the working washing machine is now in the utility room, and the new dishwasher is now in the kitchen where the good w/m was.
Whilst I still have a pile of crap to sort through in the kitchen (tidying one place, with plans on how to better store stuff always seem to leave some stuff in limbo), I can now see the benefits.
Dishwasher has just beeped at me following my first use (3hrs 10m  - think what I could have done in the sink in that time; yet I am enjoying less clutter on the worktops of things waiting to be washed).
To cut a long story short...yes, I am a slob..but am quite enjoying being ruthless, and now have room for new equipment - in the previous cluttered state it would have been too much like hard work and arguments to remove the old w/m, replace and buy new d/w.
Off to see what the dishes look like................0 -
Ooh, I like that idea! I have very little wall space in my kitchen, it's all taken up by cupboards/windows, and my notice board is very inconveniently placed under a cupboard where it's not much use. Why didn't I think of putting it inside? A brilliant plan.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0

Don't suppose you have an old Family Circle magazine with a Christmas chocolate fruit cake baked in a ring tin, pecans go into the tin, so they are on top of the cake? Probably pre 2000.
Have been searching for this for 5+ years.:xmassmile0 -

I have a 300mm top cupboard by the hob, it's used for vinegar, spices, salt, pepper etc...by sticking the recipe I'm following on the inside of the door, it's just at the right eye level.0 -
Went shopping with Dh yesterday and was treated to 4 lovely new bras, he told me I was better than 2 of the ones that escaped the kondo kull. I had to agree as one actually started to fray and fall apart on holiday so it got left in a bin there, the other one was ok apart from the fact it starts as white and is now a dingy grey. Then as we didn't want or need anything else we just went for a meal.
today went to my mums, took a box of books and DVDs see can read/watch and pass to friends, a few clothes that will look much nicer on mum than me (she agreed and loved them) and her birthday pressie hamper that has been here for a while since being made up and wrapped.
While there was given birthday pressies from mum and sister, all joyful, a bottle of pins some lovely smelling candles and some toiletries, do they will all be used and aprechiated.SPC~12 ot 124

I can't take the credit PWD, I've shamelessly pinched it from PinterestDon't suppose you have an old Family Circle magazine with a Christmas chocolate fruit cake baked in a ring tin, pecans go into the tin, so they are on top of the cake? Probably pre 2000.
