Right I need your help on this one -Handbags how many have you got and where do you store them ? I treated myself last year to a £160 leather bag and guess what I dont even like it let alone love it Its too big and hurts my back its also a pain to open as you have to undo 2 straps and the strap is too long and hangs to low when its on your shoulder.
I only have one. I love it and its the perfect size for me but its a grab bag (no long strap) which is a bit of a pain when i'm shopping. Its not too 'dressy' that i cant use it for everyday use or too plain that i cant use it if i go out.
Its hung up on a hook under the stairs. As much as i love it, its totally impractical and will be replaced at some point. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Have a go at selling it Mav, or if you don't want the hassle, just thank it and send it on its way to charity. Keeping it will only bring you down. Time to let go.
Judi, OH decided that he had a life and didn't need to samosa bags ... until he changed his mind and asked me to show him how to do it! Also, he doesn't like taking a clean tea towel out of the drawer because they look so lovely all neatly rolled up that he doesn't want to disturb them:rotfl:
Kondoing slowed down for a couple of weeks, but I have a bit more time now so will be having a go at clearing more paperwork. Also need to have another go in the bedroom to rearrange the storage as it's not working as it is at the moment ie a shallow drawer is empty but my jumpers are out on a rack and gathering dust because they are too big for it. Definitely a shuffle around required.
Have been kept motivated by reading all your lovely posts. Keep Kondoing!Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -
What should I do its the money thing again it cost so much for me.But cant see myself ever using it again.Unless I use it as a swimming/gym bag might get a bit of use out of it then but I still dont love it

Wrapping paper going to sound awful I kondoed the whole lot to a friend who teachers art and craft to kidsI am NOT going to buy anything for anyone that needs wrapping
In fact I am going to try not to buy any gifts for anyone either :rotfl:I am going with food drink or money.Or if I can get away with it nothing. I hate trailing round the shops to try and find something they would like.
I am also NOT buying gifts for certain people this year that dont bring me joy as last year I had them returned to me as they didnt like the colour of one item and the other wasnt the one they wanted  Very bad mannered dont you think ? So I took them back from them kondoed them as I was so annoyed and just ignored it after that so they got sweet FA :rotfl::rotfl:
So from the start this year they will get nothing from me and I am not even going to waste my time explaining it
I did manage to get some pretty awful cards from a bootsale about 50 of them for a £1 so will be sending them for their Birthdays one of which is next weekSo a 2p card is all those ungrateful idiots will be getting from me. ;)Do I care nope I sure dont.I am a great believer in you reep what you sow
and will stand by that 100%

How rude to behave like that to someone who has gone to the trouble and expense of buying a present  I wouldn't be buying them anything again either!
Why not ebay the bag? You won't get all the money back, but you will get some...0 -
Wrapping paper: ours are kept in a large old glass chromatography tank.................... yes I know pretty unusual. Brought home by my OH when he worked in a research post in a university and they were chucking stuff out of the labs. Is sits in a space under the eaves and doesnt get in the way cant be seen but hold the rolls beautifully! However we dont buy many presents now as we made a stand a few years ago, so this little stash will last us years.:oBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

 Those friends - how rude!! you have to laugh, I am sure we have all received gifts that weren't quite right, but wouldn't dream of returning them. We friends from school clubbed together and bought another friend a leather bag for her 50th and the first thing she said was "it's such a shame, cos it hasn't got a little pocket to put my (whatever it was) in". She did use it though.
So, handbags, I bought myself one with some birthday money last year (across the body one, fairly large - bright red.) and have kondoed most others. I only have a black evening -y one and a small one that i love (but it is small). Marie Says to store one inside the other, doesn't she?
If you don't love it then it has to go - can you ebay it? I got mine from TK Maxximus for £30 - they retail normally around £90. However much i want to, I just can't spend big money on a bag.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Wrapping paper - ours is kept under the shelf unit in our office. Got a shock once when the hamster escaped (DD had left the cage open ) and he found his way there. Picture the scene - late saturday night, kids were in bed, OH was away and I am in the office and the rest of the house is in darkness. Then i hear "rustle, rustle rustle", just as I was thinking RATS  SNAKES  he ran from under the shelves, took one look at me - we both went :eek::eek: and he ran back. :rotfl:
I then spent the next hour trying to catch the bliddy thing :rotfl: Bless him, it was the biggest adventure of his short and lonely life
I would like to get rid of some pressie buying. It isn't the money, it is the sheer nonsense of it - take my friend (she of the handbag above). She has three girls, lovely girls and I have always bought for them as she does my two. But it has now got to the stage where we either exchange money or she tells me exactly what to get them (or gets it) and i do the same. Now that the kids are all mid to late teens and early 20's it seems a bit pointless. We are stopping as each one gets to 21 so it will reduce.
Before about 5 years ago I had a shopping list of 45 christmas pressies, plus three birthdays  The childminder alone had 4 kids, plus teachers and friends kids.
Since that time the childminder has stopped, the teachers at high school don't get anything, and friend's kids have gradually gotten too old. I am still on around 25 though.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Mmm These were DHs family :rotfl::rotfl:Oh well a 2p card this year so that will cheer me upJust cant be there when they open it and expect money inside :rotfl:As I will not be able to control my laughter
Revenge is best served cold dont they say
Yes I know you all right on the bag will do some research on what they are selling for if its a small amount I will send it on its way and thank it for teaching me another valuable lesson.I do have mine inside each other on a shelf in the wardrobe. But only about 4 I think will check it out now
Thanks all I know you are right on the bag.I hate looking at my costly mistake or lesson as I prefer to call it

The money thing is always the killer, it gets us all. I am not in a financial position to just take to the charity and tend to go car boots but I have just sold stuff on eBay and could even pass on the tat! I'm glad I did the latter this time as it all went in go.the room seems clearer and so too my mind.
Sell the bag and know that in the future when you treat yourself you will use your KD knowledge and buy something useful, doesn't hurt your back and brings you joy!Don’t put it down - put it away!
