I think I'm going to have to stop buying loose mushrooms and buy them in punnets! :rotfl:
In my supermarket they are cheaper per kg loose than in a punnet though...Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

Oh be quiet about those mushroom punnets ... I can see I'm going to have to start buying packs instead of loose! :rotfl:
Ahem. My name is Pollywollydoodle and I am a food hoarder. I have just found a packet of bulgur wheat dated BBE Jan 2003 :embarasse: That means it was already 3 years out of date when I moved into this house. Now I'm not a great one for 'sell by' dates, especially on dried or tinned food but even I have to admit that it's probably past its best and anyway I don't like it! I won't mention some of the other unlikely things I've discovered but there are going to be some interesting meal combinations at Doodle Towers over the next few weeks.
I'm in the middle of 'kitchen Tetris' and it's painful.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0 -
I helped a friend sort kitchen cupboards about 30 years after we went decimal. Despite several housemoves she still had spices with pre-decimal price tickets on them. We laffed.
Spent some time with a pal this afternoon and over a cuppa she mentioned that she'd been intruiged enough by mention of KM at a party we were at a few weeks ago to get the book for her Kindle. Hasn't started it yet but is looking forward to feeling the joy.
I have started a new donation bag as tried something on with a view to wearing it today and realised it did nothing for me. Only cost 50p so not suffering my mistake any longer, so off it'll go. Plus went out this morning with a ragbag for the chazzer, so am chiselling my way down the pile of a dozen left here by the folks - their chazzer doesn't take them.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

RL getting in the way of Kondo this week but have some time off work now so looking forward to cracking on with things. Did manage to put out a pair of trainers and a pair of sandals - both beyond anything a CS would take. Have found some much nicer ones recently and so was happy to let these ones go.
Have been missing MK so much that last night I dreamt about travelling and that I had to lay things out properly to let me use Kondo folding! Don't know if that's the subconscious trying to get me to tidy or to go on holiday LOLLooking ahead0 -
Another two makeup palettes have been liberated today. Parting with my makeup stash is like saying goodbye to my treasures but i know deep down i'll never wear the colours again. Electric blue, shocking purple and iridescent green is more suited to a 16 year old rather than a woman in her 50s.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I keep my dusters and microfiber cloths folded in half and then rolled and stood upright in a mushroom punnet under my sink
x
I believe one 'ranger rolls' ones dusters;)
Thanks for the tip, and another use for mushroom punnets!!:rotfl:
I don't actually do the dusting round here (cleaning is down to DH) so hope it'll stay tidy when I sort them.
Utilised a strawberry punnet today to hold packs of rice, couscous and noodles. Probably replace it with a mushroom punnet in time (as the strawberry ones not so strong) but there are only just so many mushrooms I can eat!
Plans for the coming week: we have a horrid 80's fixture of cupboards over our bed which is going when we get round to decorating. Must make a start of emptying/sorting/rehoming the contents so I can manage without the storage. The fixture certainly doesn't spark joy so we'll see about the contents.0 -
Morning Konverts
Clutterfree Well done for booking for you and your Mum you will have a great time and I cant wait for you to report back on your findings
My colour lady also asked to see my make-up She was out of luck as I had kondoed the lotI have replaced a very few bits but very rarely wear any
On the Top you hate. Try wearing different tops everyday if you can and you may find when you have worn it all day. You hate it at the end of the day for some reason as thats what I have found. Some items of clothes just almost put in a bad mood and I feel not myself all day
Then I try and decide what it is about it that makes me feel like that. Most of the time its too short on the length on me or the arms are a tad to short.
Or the Colour is just plain wrong
YORKSHIRELASS That is another thing we have learnt now not to just buy the same even though we love the first one as we have both found out it doesnt work. I cant believe the difference in how you look and how you feel.

Kondoed my husband's wardrobe....I was met with "it's not right to mess with a man's knicker drawers!!!"
I'm sure he can't really use all 86 pairs! ...and as for the number of socks - and odd socks....... aaaggghhh!0 -
Just about to kondo-move the clutter off my desk aka dining table into two folders and a huge box so I can do something with the paper. It is
"doing my head in!" to see it like this and is so demotivating!
Then I am going to tackle it - one piece at a time!!! Got until 1.45 so watch this space.
I just had to wear my usual make up to my colour session - so I put on some mascara which is a lot for me! He did my eyes and totally changed the shape of them - I looked fab so bought all the stuff - three shadows and an eye pencil and have done them every day since!!! Just doing that makes me feel fantastic!!! Though you can't see my eyes properly under the brown tinted glasses with gold frames - that are not right for me!! but will have to wait until I find the right frames. I do need a new prescription but it can wait a little!
Not having much joy getting new bits for wardrobe as not much in fashion that'll suit me. Going to Chester this weekend and Cheshire Oaks Monday so perhaps will have more "joy" there!!!
Good tip about the bad mood at the end of the day re some clothes Mav - I feel like that with some of my too large ones but cannot replace yet. I am aiming to get to a capsule wardrobe as described in my style book - but it may take a while to get there. Anyone seen true drawstring waist trousers - no elastic - anywhere please?July 16 £95/£200
Nov 16 £0/£200

My make up bag consists of a tinted mousturiser, a primark dried up mascara and a couple of lip glosses....oh dear, must make more of an effort. ...part of the problem is that my skin and eyes are really sensitive and easily irritated.
Was well behaved at car bootie. Went looking for some summer trousers and got really lucky with 3 pairs for £3 in all and incredibly they all fit, one pair brand new with label too! Definitely had a gap in my wardrobe for these but nearly every day it seems I'm still moving clothes into the cs pile. Who knew I had so many clothes I never wear or will wear (many are just 'too young' for me now.)
Had a bit of a wobble with parting with some dining room items over the weekend. ...then as someone here said, looked at the space and realised I valued that more. Bike still here. Might have to join the no eared donkey amd shire horse with one leg longer than the other at this rate! !! A friend of mine has around ten bike piled up in storage and would go mad if he knew I was giving it away but what good are they doing anyone in a garage? I've had many loved times with that bike tho. Just need to get my Kondo mojo back. Seems like a few on here are having wobbles. Maybe it's the time of year or just a natural part of the journey....Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0
