Igamogam, thanks - this is synthetic, not down although quite a good one, and it's been on a suit hanger as you describe but it just takes up most of the only cupboard in this room. I might rethink this and put it in a spare pillowcase or similar, it only came with a stuffsack.
IQueen, yes I go back and re-read a few pages if I think I'm flagging. Sometimes you just need a little rest, though. I'm slowly going through the kitchen, one drawer at a time. I've realised one problem though - I always buy my mushrooms loose, not in punnets! :rotfl:Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Down sleeping bags should never be stored in their stuff sacks. We hang our up by the foot end using clip style hangers. Fortunately we can hang them up in a 'spare room' You can hang them up using a suit hanger - ie fold it over the bar of the hanger. Either way they would probably benefit from a shake out every now and then. Synthetic sleeping bags you can probably get away with storing but NEVER in a stuff /compression sack. Ours came with storage bags (as well as compression sacks) which are about as big as a pillow case. We are hardy outdoor types so have multiple sleeping bags each:D:eek:
Thank you for this, Igamogam, I'm going to check how DS1 has stored his sleeping bag (probably shoved loosely into his cupboard... DS2 has a synthetic sleeping bag that mum got from the car boot sale when DS1 needed one for school trips, and I keep it in a pillow case when not in use. Well, the pillow case has a name label on it, so it goes off to Scout camp etc in it (before coming back shoved in a bin liner with dirty wet clothes on top...).
Not done much the past couple of days as I've been decorating DS2's bedroom, but mum popped in for coffee yesterday morning, so I gave her the two bags of books that had come from hers and the bag of clothes for middle sis, so the living room is looking less like a car boot saleI did kondo the blue paint leftover from DS1's room onto the walls of DS2's room, but ran out so we chose some red paint (which covered over the graffiti better anyway).
DS2 wants to keep his 'new' room looking lovely, and is happy that we go through his toys and check which ones he wants to keep/get rid off/store away. When we've got rid of the stuff under his bed that he doesn't use, there'll be room for the playm0bil. Metal mecan0 was definitely an 'aspiration toy' for my little man with his hyper mobile hands and lack of interest in toys that need assembling before being played with, and I need to accept that the toys he's been bought because someone else loved them aren't right for him, so need to leave our house.0 -
Cleaning materials all sorted. Lots of junk went in the bin, lots of duplicates need using up and I kept finding cans of air freshener and I never use the stuff!!! Not exactly giving me joy as the dusters look untidy!!:rotfl:I'll have to find a way of storing those better. Maybe they can be samosaed (sp?).;)0

Lordy don't you lot chat! Only been away a week and I have loads to back read.
Hope everyone is well
Had a lovely week away with my family which definately sparked joy. Highlights of the holiday, seeing a cow give birth as we were walking past her in sheringham park, she got a cheer from the delighted crowd of onlookers when she licked life into the little calf and got it up on its feet after about 10 mins, then I met the lovely mavvy and Kaz from this thread as they were also in my chosen holiday town. Both are lovely and it was a pleasure to spend some time from our holiday getting to know them, Ds1 had bought us tickets to a flogging Molly concert and I must say alough we had reservations it was brilliant and definately brought joy. Best part was the big smile on Ds face when we told him how much we enjoyed it and we're glad he had wanted to share it with us.
Home now and catching up on washing and thread reading.SPC~12 ot 124

Clutterfree, thanks you have just reminded me that our freezer need to be defrosted too.
When I went through my shoes last weekend, there was 1 pair that I wasn't sure whether to keep or not. We went out last night and I decided to wear those shoes. They were uncomfortable so the shoes have now gone into the charity bag.
OH has dealt with the paperwork that was spread out on top of the sideboard in the living room. Living room is looking so much better now.
Last night I sorted out my purse and shredded loads of receipts and out of date vouchers. No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

Clutterfree - I LOVE your freezer system. I have started to store the few bought-in products such as veggie saus on their side filed for easy ID and access but just never thought of freezing meat, soups etc in oblong boxes before bagging and labelling. You should definitely get an award!
Igamogam, I too have been remiss in not attending for that check-up that is well over due. TBH I am more worried about the nagging I'll get about my weight if I do go to Docs - ridiculous, I know. So, as it is another thing on my 'to do' list that needs Kondo'ing, I'd better get on and sort it out this coming week!
I am also feeling frustrated again at not making enough progress. Other jobs had to take precedence in the limited time avail. I suppose the jobs done have added joy, or at the very least remove an irritation (some minor DIY and some deap cleaning) so I shouldn't complain.
On a positive note, DH presented me with a bag of neatly paired socks this morning that he says he no longer wants ( so the KM by osmosis is beginning to work). I took the chance to mention my pending trip to the Sally Army and suggested he look out any jumpers, t-shirts etc that would be great to donate and he has promised to do this. :T
Right, I'm off to the room of doom, wish me luck!

Right got about an hour left before my home-alone-staycation is over. OH and DD2 will be back from their adventures and tales of daring do! Going to just blitz around the bedroom and put away a basket of laundry and get kettle ready for making tea as no doubt I will be sitting through 100's of photos and hours of gopro video...........Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Becky I have been doing that with clothes that I am not sure about - making myself wear them, then 9 times out of 10 they go! And Mav its interesting what you say about patterns and colours. I bought a dress for work that looks really good so I bought the same dress in a different colour. It looks hideous on me, now I can see why.
And I was frustrated about slow progress but now I realise that it doesnt really matter how long the kondo journey takes you, the main thing is that you keep at it.0 -

I keep my dusters and microfiber cloths folded in half and then rolled and stood upright in a mushroom punnet under my sinkx
