  • I have shampoo and shower gel out on the bath/windowsill, and I have makeup-remover, moisturiser and cleanser above the sink, my bathroom has very little storage. Other stuff (pills, toothpaste etc) live in my hanging washbag on the back of the door, don't ask me why it doesn't all live in there, I don't know!

I used to have a basket of unused items by the bath ... when I came to kondo it everything was covered in soap/hard water scum  it is SO easy to clean the bathroom now, I can do it in no time.

The weird thing is that since I Kondoed the sock drawer, I don't have any odd socks. Now you might think that as someone living alone, doing only my own washing, there's no reason to ever have odd socks but the Sock Monster (who lives somewhere in the washing machine) has previously orphaned any number of hosiery items. Somehow, everything is staying in pairs now.

GQ beware, my black socks drive me mad because it's so hard to get exact pairs after washing - this may not bother you, but I can't bear having one sock that's longer/tighter/thicker than the other, unless you buy totally identical socks they are liable to get muddled! Maybe that's just me though. :o

I buy black socks, but find that even though I bought them at the same time and wash/wear them a similar number of times, they end up different shades of black :D Oh well, I did my best and I'm sure no one notices except me.

Toothbrushes sit in tumblers on the windowsill behind the curtain. Hairbrushes makeup etc live in a bedroom drawer with my deodorant and perfume. All hidden out of sight. My moisturisers used to be scattered all over the place but now tidied I use them each day. Handcream stays by the kitchen sink and bedside cabinet drawer.

We have soap in a wall-mounted dish above basin, toothbrushes & toothpaste in matching pots on shelf on mirror, and 1 bottle of shampoo, conditioner & shower cream on floor of walk-in shower. Everything else lives in the built-in cupboard housing the combo boiler. One set of towels & 2 flannels on the heated towel rail, others live on a shelf within the alcove in the back bedroom. In 2011 we spent almost as much on our bathroom as we did on our wedding the year before, and its all white ceramic, stainless steel, welsh slate floor & honey marble tiles so am very careful about keeping it looking its best!

:) I also have a hanging washbag on the back of the door which holds a few bits inc electric toothbrush. Toothpaste, deo and microfibre lens cloth for glasses live on windowsill. Everything else lives in a stack of those metal-framed pretend wicker drawers on the bath back, a 4-stack and a 2-stack from Argossy. Couple of things which don't fit in the drawers sit on that (shampoo and bath product - one of each). Oh, and a few bits which live on the bath bridge; nailbrush etc.

Everything in there is white and it's so calming and easy to keep clean. I can't bear a high use are like a bathroom being an obstacle course.

Was too nice an evening to stay home so went up to my allotment for an hour and pulled horsetails out of the leek patch, bagged and took them to the tip along with the now-redundant bits of plastic fencing replaced about 3 weeks ago.

Visitors at the start of this week put a stop to my kondoing but now they have gone I am back on it. I have been following the thread though and have loved reading all your posts.

I took the book to the caravan at the week end and have read half. I will take it again next week end and finish it. Re Reading the book has renewed my interest and energy.

Today I have kondoed the bathroom. I had done the cupboard under the sink a few months ago but I still had a carrier bag if stuff to bin. The cupboard is lovely now, only things I will use and in boxes and well organised:j

Before the week end I had kondoed the cabinet in the dining room. Loads of plates, glasses and ornaments went to the CS. OH's family came to stay and his sister brought a cake. There was room on one of the shelves for the cake. Then the next day I added a bowl of strawberries next to the cake. I kept telling people but they did't seem impressed. I thought it it was wonderful:rotfl:

I have kondoed our bedside tables today but have replaced them with two new ones as my old one was broken. They have lovely 'lagoon blue' ( teal in other words) shades and I love them.

Not seen a post by my iTwin (iQueen) for a while I do hope everythings ok.

    Have a lovely day everyone.

I am going back to clothes today I know shocking but have so much space now in drawers I need to organise it better and maybe a few things might make the charity pile grow again ;)

    Still here, iTwin!

Doing a final catch-up on the posts - nearly there!

I had a nice time with my DD at the weekend and a great Sunday lunch with her and her OH, at the local carvery. Made a mental note to actually go there, with a book, now and then, as I miss Sunday Lunches! :)

My very favourite item of clothing is my denim marl jersey, ankle-length coat, which makes me feel very graceful and Boho. It looks good with jeans or dressed up. :D

A nightie that I bought on the Bay, last week, arrived bringing me great joy - s/h, full length cotton jersey, as new. So, another has been condemned to the rag bag for recycling. :D

Today, the 2 pairs of Concorde beak hair clips that I ordered, finally arrived, and the colours were exactly as they showed up on my screen! Great joy! Now I have a 'collection' of 5 pairs of slides standing in the peanut butter pot in the bathroom cupboard, ready to adorn my greying Boho hair! And that's enough. :rotfl:

Been doing quite a lot of thinking (my favourite pass-time!) and it paid off, along with a joyless window-shop on the Bay. I may have to bite the bullet and become a seller.

I have quite a few things that I ought to sell - an early Janet Reger silk nightdress on it's silk hanger (before she started producing her 'naughty' range!) expensive, unwanted presents that I've felt obliged to 'gratefully receive' for birthdays and Christmas, along with some nice vintage clothes from my past. Might also sell my mother's wedding dress - a rare war-time Leavers lace one - my grandfather was a lace manufacturer. :j

Ah, typical, I've got my kondo mojo back, just before bed-time. I think I might have a wander round and see what I can find to jettison!

Our bathroom is large (bigger than 2 of the bedrooms!!) In the shower we have 2 sets of shampoo and conditioner (me and OH), 2 shower gels and a razor (hanging on a stick on hook which came with it) On the bath I have a bottle of bath foam (pretty and lovely to use - was a gift) and a bar of handmade soap in a pretty dish. On the sink we have a pump bottle of handwash, a bottle of mouthwash, an electric toothbrush (and another head) and a tube of toothpaste. On the chest of drawers is a decorated candle on a candle plate, a pretty shallow dish full of pretty shells, a basket (containing antiperspirants, bodylotion, shaving gel, hair scrunchies, a shower cap) and a pretty decorated box. SOunds cluttered but it's really not - it's wood floor, cream tiles (and some chocolate decorative ones behind the shower)and cream walls and white & chrome fittings. Because it's large and neutral it can look stark without some things in on show. (chest of drawers contains spare towels for us, spare toiletries, spare loo rolls)

Boys' bathroom has toothbrushes and toothpastes and a pump bottle of handsoap on sink. Bath has one bottle of shower gel and one of shampoo on. Windowsill has a small basket on with spare toiletries in. Colour coordinated box on floor has bath toys in.

DD's shower room is cluttered - but it's hers and her responsibility. Thankfully she has a vanity unit in which she can put stuff! :D

Bathroom - toothbrushes in wall-mounted holder; soap in dish; toothpaste, hair scissors, floss in a pretty pot on tiles by bath; nail brush and back scrubber on bath rack along with.... a plastic duck bearing the emblem of DH footie team! One bottle of shampoo on side of bath. Bleach on floor, almost out of site.

Deo, hair brush and one panty liner, stockings and pants in small 'caddy' that i can take into box room if I am leaving home very early in the morning, so as not to disturb DH by opening various drawers and squirting deo at some unseemly hour!

All make-up in make-up bag in COD beside bed, along with nail scissors * note to self, move nail scissors into bathroom!*

Fav clothes - hmmm.... well snuggly white fleece dressing gown bought for me by a dear friend - i wear it every day for at least a few mins and on Sunday, a few hours!! I am happy to do lots of housework in it because, like gardening in slippers, it kind of means you are not really working!?
also, a jersey dress in a gorgeous bluey lilac colour that fits just fine, has some nips and tucks in the right places, shows off my assets and hides the excess bumpy bits! :D It is quite dressy and I love wearing it because it makes me feel special.
A linen top that is cream coloured, darted in the right places, has a bit of lace and just reminds me of a lovely caribbean holiday we had a couple of years ago (we were so lucky to have done that).
There are other items that I love but those are my favourties.

I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

Havent caught up from yest's posts yet. Had a friend unexpectedly turn up at 8.30 this morning to stay till Sunday morning. I knew she was coming, but not which day!!

So yeah, I'm incredibly grateful that I had started along the kondoing path!!

Bathroom - Toothbrush, toothpaste etc on pretty lil shelves on the wall, soap and moisturiser set on the sink. Candles on top of a storage unit next to the bath. Shampoo/soap/razor on edge of bath (ditto for flatmate). Toilet cleaner, cream cleaner and spray sitting tidily in a grape punnet and hidden behind the loo. Cat litter and loo roll in the back corner, mostly hidden behind a white unit that is near the loo. Its not minimalist, but its reasonably tidy at all times :)

ETA: fav clothes atm - fleece jammies I got in Aldi, living in them atm
:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A
