Spent a couple of hours in front of TV ast night putting books CDs and DVDs through Z*pper. Not sure if its worth the effort but then its a few pounds off the debt. I have weeded out the CDs and DVDs - we dont have that many TBH - put all the right discs into the right cases:mad: and tonight in front of TV I will dust were they are kept and replace in a tidy fashion...........there will be 'fall out' when DD2 and OH come back from their adventures:o ....if they notice.

I have a bid on one of my Eb*y items :D. I had a bit of an LBM yesterday whilst jettisoning the 'stuff'. Those things I had kept for Eb*y-one-day I checked out using my tablet . Dont know why I didnt think of it before:doh: My method for Eb*y now is if I can get around £10 for it I will give it a go otherwise its off to CS or Fr**gle. This way I can do it as I go along, whatever room I am in, rather than make a pile and check later ( never) on PC:rotfl: If I think its worth the effort I am uploading there and then. At lot more going to CS this way, I have to admit, so hopefully the whole process will now speed up a little too.

It is worth the effort if it is paying a little bit off your debt :) Every little helps - that is how I got out of debt, not by getting it written off or suddenly coming into loads of money enabling me to pay it off in one go, but a few pounds extra whenever I could. If your debt is accruing interest, it will make more difference than you think :D

Totally agree re ebay, it is so much hassle, and the fees so high that selling 99p type items is more trouble than it is worth now.

I wore a linen top yesterday, that hadn't been out of the drawer for ages, and today it is in the wash. It will then need to be ironed, and I hate ironing :( It is also a bit too big, as I have lost weight since I last wore it, so once ironed, it will be on its way to the charity shop. It is in good condition, and I used to like wearing it, so hopefully someone else will enjoy it :)

I suspect there are other things lurking despite my selling / donating loads of clothes a few months ago. I wasn't as ruthless as I might have been due to dieting and changing size / shape. I think I will follow GQ's example and actually wear things for a day instead of just trying them on, as that seems to help the decision making process.

I stopped the whole 99p malarky. Now I put stuff on at £5 or £10 straight away and usually offer free postage..........bidders seem to go for that;)

It's all well and good but the book seems to assume we all live in just one room, and only own clothes, paperwork, books and komono. No mention of all the DIY carp, camping carp, kiddies carp or even kitchen carp!
    ..

I know bossymoo, I am looking forward to read what she write in a few years time...she is expecting, as we know, so it will be interesting to see what her take is on family life!!
My 3 kids are all grown up in their 20's ,and left home now, and my house is still full of their dissorganised carp. Funny thing is , even though I still have a long way to go kondoing my stuff, and although I have strictlykept to my own things, whenever one of them comes home and sees the progress I have made, they immediately start clearing out some of their own things...little by little it will all go!!. Just thought I'd share that encouraging note for anyone who doubts that Kondoing is contagious! I know I did till I saw it in action.Win Win Win!

Just come back from shopping. Hubby asked me to get him a DAB car radio.... Shocking prices they are!

Bought myself a dress. Didnt cost a lot and its yellow.... pushing the colour boundaries out a bit. You will see me coming a mile off... i'll be the woman dressed as a canary!

That's a good sign branching out from black. How come you have a 'didn't cost a lot' dress and himself gets a DAB radio???

Kondoed the bathroom cupboard, as promised, and got rid of a bagful of junk so all make up now stowed away. Changed towels while I was at it and kondoed some of the airing cupboard too so a greying set of bedding has gone.

May I ask, do others have toiletries or anything on surfaces in the bathroom or do you put everything away? At the moment some regular use stuff is still out but I'm thinking of clearing the decks:undecided.

Silvasava, my friend was taking her children to London last weekend for her DD's birthday - unknown to DD, this was to include a trapeze lesson in Regent's Park! I've not seen them since to find out how they got on.

DawnW, I put DS' old high sleeper on my facebook selling site and only had 1 enquiry, from someone who didn't turn up when she'd said she would. So I put it on freegle & nearly had my hand taken off with the amount of people who wanted it. I needed it gone as the replacement low bed (to stop DS2 swinging from under the high sleeper as though he was on a trapeze...) was coming, but would have liked some money to put towards the new bed. Ah well, it saved me more money than taking time off work to look after broken limbs would have!

I kondo'd DS2 off to his Dad's for 3 days this morning, and was given - or nearly given - a bag of books that alledegly were ours that we'd leant to the in-laws or left there. I checked and accepted back DS1's 2 English Lit guides & DVD of Of Mice & Men (though I'll be offering them to a friend who's son goes into Year 10 in September if he is that or An Inspector Calls), and explained to the Ex that the other books weren't ours and we didn't need them, thank you all the same.

I've got rid of accrued bags of stuff (recycling & textiles taken by the bin men as I got up at 5 yesterday to put the bags on the bins), trolley full of books to the chazzer yesterday, very late library book that I though was already returned but appeared under stuff on the living room floor returned to library (fine not yet kondo'd from my purse as there were massive queues, so I just used the self service to return it), another trolley of stuff to a different chazzer today.

Other than dust and food wrappers from under DS2's bed , not much has been sorted today - he's at his dad's while I get his room ready for painting. I will sit with him as he puts stuff back in his room afterwards and ask him what gives him joy. Most of the toys he still has are the leg0 (which started with my leg0 and has been added to) and the playm0bil which he still plays with (and again started with my playm0bil and has been added to). But there are the odd things like m0shi monsters that I think he could let go.

I think my favourite item of clothing is my navy fleece dressing gown that mummy got me for Christmas when DS1 was 2 - it still fits and is lovely and snuggly (though now a bit bobbly) and makes me feel looked after when I wear it. Hmm, I don't know that it makes me look lovely though ;). My other possible favourite is the dress I got for work's Xmas dinner last year - dark green 50's style dress that was fun to wear and made me feel pretty. I haven't worn it enough to say it's the favourite yet though - I don't go to many dressy events!

Maman I just have a shower gel ( the one with the hook on the end of it) and a shampoo in the shower. Also have a liquid soap pump thingie on the bathroom sink. The spares live in the bottom of the airing cupboard. Have used up my huge supply of bathroom shower gels which cluttered up the place as bathroom cleaner- the shower doors and walls come up a treat with shower gel on a net scunchie exfoliating thing.

Thanks for that. What about toothpaste, toothbrush, handcream and anything MrG (assuming there's one) may use?

    Apologies in advance for nosiness:o.
