Right I've just tidyied a drawer in my room of doom
I had the song frozen on my iPod
I was feeling a bit unmotivated so I don't want this to
Continue
Singing "let it go" "let it go" top of me voice
So I think I might make a playlist of declutter songs
I'm thinking
I want to break free - queen
I like defying gravity from wicked
Sometimes I like to work in silence
Or I have plenty audiobooks
But sometimes the music gets you through
What songs do you like to clean to and motivate
I love your posts jinny. I just burst out laughing at this one!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

We are so excited as the more we throw now, the less we clutter up the new home when we find it.

We also can't wait to go to Ikea and purchase all our own storage, we own none of the furniture in the flat we rent. So when we do move, we can purchase furniture with KonMarie in mind.:A
Like you, everything is geared towards the new house when it happens. And like you I can't wait to get ikea stuff for storage. Look on ebay because it is great for ikea bargains.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

I keep some carrier bags in the shed down at the allotment because I always forget to take one with me when I go to pick whatever. They seem to be a complete clutter magnet everything that comes near them gets untidy
Not any more! All samosad and in a small marge tub on the shelf just inside the doorIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
Ha ha lesson learned I love the image of the little boy singing let it go
You should learn him the second line
"I'm one with the kondo"
Thanks for the suggestions everyone
I ended up putting on an audiobook
I'm only allowing myself to listen when I kondo
Phew our cult leader did warn us
The komoro is the most difficult
It certainly is
It isn't a race tho so although I want it all done ASAP
There isn't any reason to sicken myself.
I hope I'm not losing interests I think I'm just a bit tired today”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)
Put on some lipstick
and pull yourself together”

Worked out that we have about 300 feet of book shelving - not all in one place but throughout the house - but all full
I have made a start....
Sorry cant stand Frozen or most things Disneyesque TBH. But do like a bit of music.Loud, quiet, modern, classical, doesnt matter, as long as I sing along. Also like to listen to Radio 4 - helps me concentrate and I can 'chunk' what I am doing to the length of the programme: always clean the kitchen listening to the Archers omnibus which is guaranteed to keep OH awayBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Another drawer done:D sports/cycling/walking clothes, but I think it would challenge even our esteemed leader to fold neatly and keep folded cycling shorts and trousers, they have a bulky padded insert for sitting upon and are silky and shiny into the bargain, still it looks pretty good and I can see everything at a glance. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. I've been lurking and reading this thread for the past week and have to admit I'm a Kondo Addict.
Although I haven't gone full on with the de-cluttering I have certainly made a good effort with the tidying & sorting.
At the weekend I rolled my towels and stacked them neatly in the airing cupboard, Monday I Kondoed my T-shirt/Shorts drawer and at 6am this morning I was sat on my bed folding and re-packing my underwear drawer, gym/ nightie drawer and DH PJ's. In the process of removing I found a very nice scarf that I had completely forgotten about and don't remember purchasing, or who gave it to me as a gift. I've even been secretly thanking my clothes as I hang them up after work for keeping me warm though the day and my PJs for keeping my warm while I slept.
Lunchtime was spent folding plastic bags!!:rotfl::T0 -

Oh I used to listen to the archers omnibus on my way to work
Tell me is there still TB in the herd
Peggy archer was fretting about putting jack in a home the last time I listened.”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)
