I must admit cress is going on my shopping list every week now as I've realised I can fill a drawer with the containers to hold the phone chargers and other plug in cables ( it's only 30p so well worth it)

Just going to do a bit more I the under stairs cupboard. I cleared the 'office' things out the other day as couldn't access it with the things piles in their. I have decided to decorate it with pretty wallpaper as OH won't let me use the paper anywhere else.

When it is done I may just use the space for my crafty stuff or coats only. Junk not going back!!!

happy to report, in past couple of weeks i have donated 30 bags of clothing, 50 pairs of shoes (2 bags), 5 bags of books, 20 bags of toys/random stuff not including the numerous recyling bins that have been filled, or the 3 bins for the dump that cant get recycled here or donated nor the 3 bags of clothes that i put in the clothes bin that i assume is for rags that the council collect . nor the 9 carrier bags of food donated/binned, numerous baking pans/trays, oven dishes, plastic tubs, cookie cutters.
over 60 bags and I am no where near finished, but the house is breathing again!
I just passed on my copy of the book to my uncle (who is a hoarder even though it is all out the way so he can deny it, but aknowledges that he needs to clear out and he was interested in what i was doing).

Hi -I had a burger press from L**eland!
We never used it and took it to so many car boots we almost gave up. I sold it at our very last one this summer. Never made or eaten home made burgers - and should we do so in the future I'd just hand press them.

I had one of these, years ago - not the spring-loaded version, which was messy to use and unload. So, that went a long time ago. :D

Now, my tiny kitchen hasn't room for unnecessary gadgets - hands are very useful gadgets, I find! :rotfl:

Thanks to the OP who suggested rolling and shaping burgers with a tartlet cutter! I cleared a set of plastic, plain round ones (and nearly kondoed them!) off the work-surface recently - perfect for burgers and savoury pastries! :T

Igamogam, the admin was just a 'quick job' but was a faff, with my misbehaved printer and took hours, while I searched (unsuccessfully) for a fix! :o I really must get these silly jobs out of the way more speedily!

maman, kondoing has already changed me, beyond recognition, mainly due to the 'woo factor' - just love it (and myself!)

VJsmum, I'm going to make a big push forward this afternoon, because the mess is irritating me. Kondoing is also on my mind daily, and I'm doing little 'off piste' bits all the time, but important little RL tasks keep diverting me. I need to get back to a properly focused approach.:(

mavvymoo, might have guessed my iTwin would be the same! :D

My first husband was OCD about his clothes (even wore separate starched collars - professionally laundered. I only tried it once! :() I got ironing his cotton shirts down to one a minute! (The challenges of being a 60s housewife! :rotfl:)

mrs-moneypenny, my front and back gardens are full of untamed brambles, as I was crippled with sciatica last year. :( Thanks for reminding me, I need to kondo the freezer - free food is free food! :T

    Speaking of plastic containers...

I did my jewellery just prior to hearing of MK, but still have quite a few joyful bits - all in various space-consuming jewellery boxes! :(

I looked for something with compartments that would do the job for individual assorted items, and discovered plastic boxes on eBay (I know, I know, don't buy storage! ;)) but these are small craft-type boxes with 15 adaptable compartments - perfect for jewellery (and probably other small things/komono), 3 for £3.49, pp free.

Ironing all done folded and put away :D Only took 4 hours:mad: Oh iTwin if only I had been a housewife in the 60s I would have had it done in 15 mins :rotfl:

Had to nip out so a full bin bag of not so good clothing has gone to the clothes bank for recyling :) So 2 1/2 bags left here to go :) Got the dress on E*ay its very joyful in the picture so lets hope its a good in real life :D Or another stupid mistake has been made but going to think positive :) I like to see things in real life and touch the fabric and see the colour ;) But sometimes you have to take a punt if its cheap and it looks fab ;)

Going to dip into all the UNJOYFUL STUFF !!!! For the fete later as I really need it out of the house  Need to have a bit of a sort out and start the trash or treasure bags or as I call it Class or Carp :rotfl:and I need the stapler and cant find it and I know if I had it it would be in the right place  So think I have loaned it out and not got it back or DH may have at work  So will find out later.

Does anyone else think that it is nowhere near as much fun going "window" shopping when the voice in your head keeps saying " that is just stuff" - no point bringing more in just to either not use it or get rid of later, is there?

Yes i agree with this, but your shopping habits have to change otherwise you just end up back where you started.....! At the weekend I went back to buy something I had seen earlier and decided it wasn't as nice as I had thought, and left it...

Found it strangely difficult freeing my home of elastic bands. I can't remember the last time we used any, and the ones at the bottom of the container were so old that the rubber had perished. Yet I still had to talk myself out of 'it might be useful one day -itus'.
    .

Ha ha yes I got rid of elastic bands in my house after I started fostering kittens who would eat them! If I ever need one now, I just use a hair band instead!

    Morning All.

OMG, I have to catch up 68 posts!

    Better get started... :coffee::coffee::coffee:

BTW, does anyone else find that they can't continue kondoing, because they are procrastinating over something else?

I had a small general admin task, which I kept putting off; however, I couldn't 'allow' myself to get on with kondoing instead, because the admin was a priority. I ended up doing neither, for several days!

I have actually found that my mind is getting clearer and I've actually taken care of a few long put off admin tasks!

Bit depressed tonight, walked into the house and it was a total mess, I hadn't washed up or tidied the kitchen last night cos I was feeling exhausted, and one of the cats had left me a little present...feels like I'm a long way from my goal at the moment....:(

Also, the spare room has loads of bits of stuff out that has surfaced during sorting and really doesn't fit anywhere...what to do with those?
Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!
