I don't have a burger press so I roll he mince mixture into balls then press into a pastry cutter to get a smooth shape.;)

I did one more kitchen cupboard tonight: pasta, rice, noodles etc. It looks much tidier and nothing to discard but I think it needs a few boxes or something to hold the packets neatly.

Tomorrow I'm tackling woolly scarves, gloves and handbags that live in the hall.:)

Does anyone make a note of replacements that might be needed for things that no longer give joy or do you just manage without?
  • Morning everyone - Maman - I just manage without!! Well for now anyway - until Friday "colours etc" day! That's the day that may see me with all the contents of my wardrobe in a bag for the ch shop!

Does anyone else think that it is nowhere near as much fun going "window" shopping when the voice in your head keeps saying " that is just stuff" - no point bringing more in just to either not use it or get rid of later, is there?

I think I have bought most of my Xmas presents already but am struggling buying those because I don't want my nearest and dearests to be lumbered with stuff they may not like either!!!

Managed to kondo an important email yesterday so am on a roll now - off to break my fast and hit the papers again!!

    Morning all
Watched possibly the worst film in the whole of existence last night it was soooo bad the lads were luring more at the badness than the comedy, in fact ds1 said its sooo bad he wants to keep it. To save anyone else wasting 1 1/2 hours of their lives it is called mammoth (12) and to be avoided at all costs!
Upside is all buttons have been sewn back on, all socks have been paired and everything apart from the duvet has been dried and folded.
Settee throws are getting washed today as I've run out of washing!
We did kondo a box of chocolates from Christmas while watching the film.

:) Oh, this is so true of me, also.

I just look at things and think Stuff. Stuff which I don't need and which, once the novelty has worn off, I will be kondo-ing. Sometimes the thrill of the purchase has worn off by the time I've got it home.

It's an experience to have my clothes grouped in drawers by type. Pre-kondo, this five-drawer c-of-d was only loosely organised. The top drawer was reserved for undies, socks, tights and scarves but, apart from that, it was a free-for-all. Which mean that I couldn't count on finding anything without a rummage throught the other remaining drawers. As I have a few different things in there made of black cotton, there was some unfolding and oh you aren't X, you're Y episodes.

Post-kondo, everything is much easier, as each drawer is reserved for a category; jammies, long-sleeved tops, short-sleeved tops & fleeces, trousers. If it's black cotton and in the bottom drawer it's got to be yoga pants, not a long-sleeved tee, just because of where it is.

And because I can see how many of each category I have, when I'm tempted in the chazzers, I can clearly call to mind the quantity at home and it stops me buying more Stuff than I need and have room to keep!

I've bought very little lately, but did buy 5 books for £1. Four of them are for bookseller brother (I rang him from the shop) but I'm reading them first, the fifth I shall read and donate also.

Re presents, I actually think I may have turned into my Dad, who has been a beggar to shop for all my life. When asked what he would like for his Christmas or birthday present, he says something gently such as There's nothing I really need, dear. :rotfl:

I buy him books on history, his favourite interest, with the instruction that they're not to be kept after reading.

:o I did a double-take over the cordless dressing-gowns also, but I had just got out of bed at that point, lol.

mrs mp have a great time and I am so glad everyone enjoys time in our neck of the woods :D I was also at the Beer Festival shame I didnt know you were there as I would have said Hello :D

I hope the boating lake has been sorted out by the time you are here. If kazwookie says the council are on to it I am sure it will be.kazwookie are you North Norfolk based ? Would be nice if there was another KM fan near me :)

The boating lake in North lodge park Cromer has been cleaned out and the new (Friends of North lodge park ) Cafe is opening next week right next to the boating lake so knitting reading and drinking coffee sounds pretty good to me mrs mp ;)
They used to put Blue dye in here but since my friends White dog jumped in and came out Bright Blue :rotfl:I think they have stopped now ;)

Right ironing today as found more joyful things to do all day yesterday :o:o and didnt even get as far as getting the ironing board out ;) So will do it today  Also going to stick some clothes on FB as getting to the chazzers is just too hard at the moment.

The colour lady has sorted my wardrobe into colours and it really works for me. Its a bit sparce at the moment as everything is in the ironing basket :rotfl:The downside to not having so much to choose from.

Also the fete stuff to be sorted today and then that can be stashed in the village hall and OUT of my house which really makes me joyful ;)

Oh thanks for reminding me about Cromer boating lake, we haven't been there for years. That can be plan B.
Got a couple of bits of machine mending I can do. DS2 has just asked me to sew some more badges on his 'scout' blanket so that will kondo them from a pile on top of the piano to somewhere permanent.
Then going to make a start on tidying the front garden

I've filled a Cs bag and need to start another.

Sorry all, I really must learn to write properly :D

The charity bag has been collected already - was gone by 6.30. And, joy of joys, the bin has been emptied :T. Excellent, now I can fill it again :p

My three tier electric steamer is leaving the house tomorrow as a work colleague has decided it is just the thing her teenagers need.

I am a bit the same re shopping, yesterday I walked through the major shopping centre near where I work. I usually avoid walking through it. Passing a shop "ooh" says inner voice, "look at all the nice clothes, that's nice and that's nice..." Etc. but sensible inner eye could picture the still rather over stuffed drawers and decided we didn't need it.

I am struggling over a rather nice pair of loafers though. The way I walk seems to mean that cheap shoes have me slipping a lot. I bought a pair of brogues from the same maker as said loafers which are fab, but do I need loafers? Probably not. Will I wear them? Definitely will. Joy? Yes!!

I will go to a different branch of same shop today (T K Maxximum) and gauge the reaction when I do or don't see them.

Really must Kondo some work today.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Only a small bit of Kondoing yesterday - a pair of pink plastic gardening clogs that do not spark anything except annoyance! They're just a little too small and dig into my heels and I wear an old pair of Ecco shoes that are much more comfy! Managed to negotiate better deals with the cable company (£20 per month cheaper!) and a better insurance deal for DH's trike - about £40 off. Only downside it took me about 2 hours - sigh. Friend coming for lunch today so no Kondoing unless he takes the cat home with him lol!
Have a good day all x
