I am struggling over a rather nice pair of loafers though. The way I walk seems to mean that cheap shoes have me slipping a lot. I bought a pair of brogues from the same maker as said loafers which are fab, but do I need loafers? Probably not. Will I wear them? Definitely will. Joy? Yes!!

I will go to a different branch of same shop today (T K Maxximum) and gauge the reaction when I do or don't see them.

I'm thinking that those loafers sound like a joyful purchase! :D:D
I have a pair about 11 years old, bought for more casual days at my old paid job (left on maternity leave with DS2, now 9.5). Hadn't been worn in years (probably since my last day!) - but were resurrected this year - perfect for my new paid jobs invigilating exams (unlike all of my gorgeous heels, boo hoo :(:() so they are now back in use and are v comfy (and smart!) :D

Managed to negotiate better deals with the cable company (£20 per month cheaper!) and a better insurance deal for DH's trike - about £40 off. Only downside it took me about 2 hours - sigh.

But that's about £280 all in that you're better off - that's a mighty fine hourly rate of pay for the two hours work!!:rotfl:

My wedding, hat and shoes are going to the chazzer today. I cant bear to throw them out but i wont be wearing them ever again. They do give me joy (or rather the hat does) but its a bit too glam for a sunhat and the only hope i have of ever wearing my wedding outfit again is if i dress it down.

    I shan't be 'thanking' them though. :D

Bin men come tomorrow. I'll be thanking them though for taking away my rubbish so i can start filling the bin again.

Work continues in the study with a big purge on stationery this morning. As a teacher, I have no problems re-homing surplus supplies. (If truth be told, it is probably a significant contributing factor to the current state of affairs)! :D

Found it strangely difficult freeing my home of elastic bands. I can't remember the last time we used any, and the ones at the bottom of the container were so old that the rubber had perished. Yet I still had to talk myself out of 'it might be useful one day -itus'.

At the current rate of progress I may well be able to re home or repurpose the stationery cupboard. The space would probably take a comfy reading chair. One to ponder.

  • I love TJ maxximus too - if fact DS bought me a gift card for there as part of my big 6* birthday present - as he remembered I didn't want s"tuff"!! I am now the proud owner of a very lightweight cross body bag in a bright deep pink - which gives me joy every time I use and look at it!
Anyone on the thread in the NW?

Can't bring myself to get rid of my wedding dress yet Judi though the hat shoes and bag have long since gone. It's a size 10 and think I am only keeping it to prove I was - once!!

Well done Silvasava - must do my TV package soon.

    Morning All.

OMG, I have to catch up 68 posts!

    Better get started... :coffee::coffee::coffee:

BTW, does anyone else find that they can't continue kondoing, because they are procrastinating over something else?

I had a small general admin task, which I kept putting off; however, I couldn't 'allow' myself to get on with kondoing instead, because the admin was a priority. I ended up doing neither, for several days!

Same here..............lots of things going back to work in September!

Er I managed to keep my box of elastic bands as I still believe I will find them useful. In fact we use them a lot in work so maybe I will add them to the 'take to work' pile :D

I'd definitely think about going back for them. I bought a pair of Dune black, suede ballet pumps a couple of months ago and they bring me huge joy. I can now kondo lots of supermarket pairs that I've tried as substitutes for the last pair I bought in TKMaxx that I wore until they fell off my feet!

I need a home for my electric steamer too. Good idea tat he time, steamed carrots are great but the difference isn't worth the faff.

Having finished the airy fairy part of the book yesterday, MK would tell you if you finished kondoing then you would be transformed as a person in so many ways that you'd never even think of procrastinating ever again!!:rotfl:

iTwin Yes I can be like that as well (think ironing yesterday) But I am a thousand times better than I was before kondo :D
I find things that will only take 10 mins are done straight away but things that take hours such as the DH shirts  ironing. I will put off as I can always find something much more joyful to do :D

But the 10 mins here and there all adds up and my house, tasks etc are more or less up to date :D

Started ironing but the steams not working that well so now have to leave to cool and descale it  Hardwater area which is now why I am sidetracked :rotfl:

Have done a couple of small jobs and will plod on with them :D And get off E*ay as I have seen a nice dress in my colours and style. As I only have 2 left after my major wardrobe 7th kondo ;)

Kondoed a bin full of weeds and clippings from the gardens, bin full now so I've stopped now until the bin is emptied. While out there I picked about 1lb of blackberries there is a big bramble in our front garden,Mike trained it on a metal fame and keep it reasonably under control, it may not look the best plant in the garden but it brings me and the birds joy as we get lots of fruit off it.
