Mavvy, I have special devices built into the door-frame of my flat. If anyone even attempts to bring a knick-knack of any description into my home, sirens woop and negative air pressure in the hall causes the immediate expulsion of said item.
It may be extreme, but it's the only way to be Pure. Heck, I've even stripped logos and tags off clothing, I hate extras so much.
The casserole dish exchange between Mum and me didn't work; turned out that the dish in her cupboard wasn't suitable, so that's now in the chazzer and we will stick as we are. I have also acquired 11 carrier bags of clean, worn-out clothing/ other textiles for ragging, which were prepped at theirs on their last visit, but their chazzer doesn't take them. I shall feed them into the chazzer one at a time over the next few weeks; the first one has already gone with the casserole.I hate to blow my own trumpet but the flat's looking pretty darned tidy atm. Won't last, but it's gratifying in the short term, anyway.
One more cuppa, then out to face the day. Onwards and upwards and outwards, my lovelies.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Morning everyone!
Carp day here - Welsh rain... drops as big as 50ps, monsoon!
Congratulations, mav, on having the strength of will not to purchase any of the clothes your PS thought were "SO you, Modom"! I shall remember this, next time I feel 'obliged to purchase something'!
Unfortunately, I wasn't so lucky this week - I splashed out on a gorgeous pair of Clarks ankle boots on eBay, and damned well can't get them on!
On a brighter note, I have heard that 'Royal' :rotfl:M are introducing an advertising ploy, using our online buying habits to actually send us junk mail!
One cool person has suggested that we collect 2 of these letters, from different companies, x and y. Then place x's marketing guff in y's reply envelope, and vice versa, then post them! Sounds good to me, and probably my iTwin, too! :rotfl:Needs, NOT wants!

I have taken a sweatshirt out of the CS bag:eek::eek::eek: fear not Kondoites I haven't committed any sin........I swopped it for another which although was newer was not bringing me any joy - its only 'scruffies wear' for gardening/decorating/etc but I had jettisoned the older one in favour for something newer but forgot the older frayed around the edges one was more joyful:D
A big kondo piece today - have arranged for a surplus to requirements sofa to be collected - put it on fr**gle - and know its going to a good homeA lovely Laur* Ashl*y one that was gifted to us but is a little on the large size for the room its in and not my colour...........lilac:(
Possibly a little kondo magic rubbing off on OH today..........he has thrown out a lap top bag which is way beyond its usefulness........its a start:T
OK a frothy coffee and then I will put back the 2 cutlery drawers I emptied last night whilst waiting for tea to cook............how many waiters friend bottle openers do we need? 12 apparently:eek:Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Yep I stood out in the conservatory and it sounded as if we were having buckets of dried peas thrown at us!! Anyway whilst its hissing down I shall remain indoors with my kondo head on..............longing to get my gardening head on though.
I have played junk mail swopsies beforeWe get very little now not because of this but I think that we always make sure every little box is ticked/unticked.

:rotfl:Your CS has probably upgraded you from customer to one of their major Suppliers! At least you don't have to offer them a discount, for quantity!
You just reminded me, I have 2 medium t'ware (actually, Mr M's!) containers, full of packets of seeds, going back to the year Dot! When I get a border clear (or even a few seed trays) I shall plant them - I have successfully raised seeds over 20 years-old, in the past! But, I heard recently, that leek seeds only survive 12 months.Even if mine don't grow, they may feed some wildlife, hopefully.
mav, a while back you said I should change my 'no food waste' sig, because I chucked peppercorns and fenugreek? Well, I didn't chuck the peppercorns, because they are still OK (1993) - airtight and in the dark! The 1983 fenugreek has been re-purposed (temporarily!) in a little pot on the kitchen window-sill, as potpourri - I love the scent! :T
Well, Saturday is my me day, when I do whatever I feel like. Usually, I slob about, cook something nicer than usual, but today, I fancy doing a bit of 'off piste' kondoing - not sure what exactly, but plenty to choose from!
Have a happy day, Konverts! :jNeeds, NOT wants!

The 'dried peas' weather woke me at dawn! (I'm always tempted to inspect the house to see how the roof is holding up, with 2 slates missing for the past 20 years.)
People outside God's Own always laugh when I tell them the rain is wetter here! It was the first thing I noticed when I moved here! :rotfl:The lovely green hills opposite my house, are testament to my claims.
Where does your username come from? It's nagging me!
Thanks for the @tick box' tip - I'd have missed that! :T

Hi all. We have been away for the week and I am making the most of the fact that the bin is nearly empty and going off track a little. My mission is to get rid of lots of those annoying little odds and ends that have to be sorted before you can take them to the tip.
I am also being vigilant as I put away the things we took we us on holiday and binning anything that I think needs to go.
OH is in his usual weekend position on the sofa and the kids are both busy so that gives me free reign to get rid of whatever I want!
But I really need to stop and tidy up a little now because I seem to be making an very big mess!0
