Of course today, when I had pulled out most of the contents of the cupboards in the office and utility room, we had unexpected visitors. Erm, just having a clear out I squeaked as I looked around at the devastation!!!
Mav if I ever get to the end of this I am going to have a day at the weekend just for me. I swear I will get there ...0 -
This thread is amazing. I can just feel the energy leaping out of all your posts (sorry, a bit woo there, but I can, I can!).
Yorkshirelass, I'm making a big mess today, too. Will need to tidy it up tomorrow as living in a small space means I can't get away with it for too long.
Finished a book yesterday which can go into the fete box and gone off piste today to have a quick clearout in my bedroom of soft toys (penguin collection which I didn't start:rotfl:) and jewellery box. I've only gone through things which can be donated to the fete and left the other things to do when I have more time.
Another fruit punnet has made its home in my undies drawer. I just love using these as it suits my reuse/recycle and MSE OS tendencies and has made the drawers so much easier to use.
I have been rethinking my t-shirt and vest top drawers as I have a few tubes of creams etc on the top of my chest of drawers which I do use fairly regularly and they could be hidden from view if I rearranged things a bit - there is space. Need to find a new storage tray-type things first to keep them under control.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -

GQ Glad you have got that device on your doorVery wise or the Bee tea towels would be arriving thick and fast very soon
iTwin Nothing would have made me buy that stuff I told her I found it all very uninspiring and the quality seemed poor to me:rotfl:Think she found me a bit mad and was glad when I went :rotfl:
Good idea on the RM stuff I have been known to do that before and often put it back in the postbox with Return to sender on it
How you get on these mailing lists I have no idea  But I get a big colourful almost book from H*tter every couple of weeks. I have no idea how I am on their list. That has been put back in the post box the last 4 times and I have got the next one ie (Aug) and they are still sending them. Such a waste and no wonder their shoes are so expensive
We will all have to come to an agreement as to how to proceed on this type of carp that comes in to our homes uninvited.Any good ideas ladies ?
I can deal with the telesales poeple quite well and can make it a joyful time for me :rotfl:So we need to get a way of having fun and joy with the mail issue :rotfl:

Hi all
Have been reading this thread over the past few weeks, sometimes with tears of laughter running down my face and have finally read the book last week. I have managed to kondo
1. my clothes
2. my handbags
3. my shoes
4. the linen cupboard
5. the bathroom
6. dvds which are in boxes - still have the loose packets and the ones in the big cd storage wallets to do.
7. paperwork including the guarantee's and instruction manuals boxes.
DH is almost on board and knows what I am doing but he finds it quite amusing and is just placating me I think although he is impressed with the burrito roll of the duvet lol. As a result of this we have agreed to do the utility room and this includes painting, decorating and laying a new floor. We have been discussing it on and off for the past year and have done nothing about it as things always seem to crop up but as it is the area that I wanted to tackle next in my kondo (utility and kitchen) we decided it made sense to do the decorating at the same time. So today the wall unit with hats, gloves, scarfs and coats got gutted and tonnes thrown out and we have also done the cupboard we keep kitchen equipment that we don't use all the time but do use regularly such as the steamer and slow cooker.
This cupboard also houses the tupperware, flasks and miscellaneous stuff for the kitchen - but for goodness sake how much tupperware do we need. Having matched the lids with the bases it is now sitting on the dining table for tonight so I can make rational decisions about what we need (not sure that tupperware can bring me joy - but is functional so that makes me happy - but not when I have so much it collapses on me everytime I want to get something out).
Anyway sorry for the diatribe promise to be a bit more succinct in future.0 -

Note to self - do not skim read as I have a mental picture of Raspberries in your knickers (sorry:o)
GQ - having a cuppa this afternoon with DH and watched a bee going in and out of a screw hole left in the wall where DH took a metal wall basket off. I've also spotted small holes in a piece of dead wood on my plum tree - something is active as there's 'sawdust' round the holes - fingers crossed that it's bees too!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
