    zigzag
    (verb, adjv )

Moving in or having a zigzag

A line or path that proceeds by sharp turns in alternating directions.

    Kinda describes my life really:)

I believe there is also a Welsh children's TV/animation character goes by the same name - a cave girl:eek: To be found here but she wears animal print so definitely not me:rotfl::rotfl:

Thank you for explaining that, Igamogam. I puzzled over it for ages, but couldn't recognise it as Welsh.

Sadly, I only have 5 phrases: 'dim llaeth heddiw', 'Nadolig Llawen', and Penblwydd Hapus' along with 'os gwelwch chi yn dda' and 'diolch yn fawr'! (I've got good Welsh manners!);)

My 3 youngest are fluent. One used Welsh when she worked in HMV in London, and had a badge, which usefully said so, bringing Welsh-speaking visitors to her counter! Another used it daily when she worked near home too. So I did my bit to keep the langauge alive! :D And I now have another phrase!

I have been rethinking my t-shirt and vest top drawers as I have a few tubes of creams etc on the top of my chest of drawers which I do use fairly regularly and they could be hidden from view if I rearranged things a bit - there is space. Need to find a new storage tray-type things first to keep them under control.

Small boxes and lids may work well. It's amazing what potsand other containers crop up that are just the thing - I've used a plastic Peanut Butter jar, minus lid, in my bathroom cabinet to store my collection of large beak/Concorde hair slides to stand in, and a small plastic cylinder (ex-cotton buds) is just right for hair pins! :j

Oops! Forgot to thank you, mrs-moneypenny, for the link.

Early this year, on MNet, quite a few Konverts got withdrawal symptoms when they had to return to work and were deprived of their kondo fix - so there were offices and classrooms everywhere being kondoed too! :rotfl:

Wet here this morning........'chimney pots at cloud base' as we say. Keep waking at silly o'clock thing about stuff - thats stuff stuff, physical stuff. Not stuff that rattles round in the head..........YNWIM!

I have got to one of those positions again where it all seems insurmountable:( getting rid of sofa yesterday did help as we have been able to put our old sofa into the conservatory and the second 'gifted' sofa into LR where the one that has just gone was - that too was gifted by same friend - same style and colour but smaller and fits better into the space - only taken me 4 months to decide:eek: Going to get it reupholstered as I said before lilac not my colour:D

I seem to have unfinished KM projects lying around - I get sidetracked with day to day things that need attending to. There are a few things that need to go to recycle centre today - so that will be cathartic. I didnt get back to books and have an urge to start on CDs and DVDs - they will all go to CS as I really CBA with trying to get a few pence for them on zapp*r and the like.

iQ - the Welsh language and the politics, passion and emotion that goes with it is a funny old thing. You have to live here, don't you, to 'get it' IYSWIM. Lots of controversy at the moment with county councils having to slash budgets as an awful lot goes on promoting/supporting/propping up the language, call it what you will. Where Welsh is not very strong, there is talk of money going to priority services and Welsh language development is not one................and I can see their point sadly. Both my DDs speak/read/understand but struggle with the written form..........as do many including first language speakers, if my Welsh speaking, teachers of Welsh, colleagues are to be believed. Both my OH and I learnt it but dont use it in any work situations or in any meaningful way really and that's because we have never had to:( DD1 lives in the south of the country and when she went to university she was considered 'unusual' amongst her South Walian student friends, as being able to speak Welsh, because they couldnt!

Having been up 3 hours I think I may just wander back to bed with a book for a bit. Forecast says it may brighten up by 9:p

  • And now I'm going to have to start pronouncing your name in a completely different way when I read your posts, because I didn't realise it was hyphenated! Fascinating.

I recognise that feeling - my lounge is getting like that at the moment as its where everything has ended up that doesn't yet have a home. Push on, last time this happened to me I did a big CS trip and made a huge effort with one area, and suddenly it all began to fall into place.

    Good morning! :D
I have finally completely caught up on the thread!! Yay! I have loved following all the conversations about collections, colours, style, weight loss, reminiscing about school uniforms, etc. a lot of it resonates with me.

We got back yesterday from a weeks holiday in the lovely Cotswolds - while my family were being energetic, I caught up on the thread. I also read half a book in a day (I don't often read for pleasure, and I am a slow reader). My children even commented on it! It was nice to be able read, guilt free, as there were not lots of other things I should be doing!

Today I need to continue my kondo journey - just not sure where to start! I need to do paperwork, but there is so much of it! I need to be able to have somewhere to collect it all, but I can't think of anywhere where other people (DH) won't shuffle it all up again :(
I have today, and then 3 more days off work - so I want to make a difference. I work from home, so work often finds it's way in all the time!

I think I will get my A in gear, shower and maybe tackle the toiletries while I am in there. I will need to gather it all, and get other family members to sort their own. My DD has so much!

Ok - I need to get going now, in between catching up with laundry, of course!

Good morning, lovely and sunny here in the middle of the country. OH has just texted to say that he has seen 5 Red Kites, resisting the temptation to leave the Kondoing, baking etc and drive off to look for them.

Yesterday took a goodly amount of sale-able and not needed possessions to family members for them to sell and add money to their wedding fund, CS missing out, but family first:D All this stuff had been stored in garage/utility room, 't other day OH had been looking for something and ended up kondoing all the shelves, great result even though he doesn't know that he has been konverted:rotfl:

Having a session sorting toiletries this morning, bathroom looks like it has been hit by a whirlwind, but hopefully will look better later.

  • Hi all - just finished kondoing my fourth knitted project and have started the fifth - so 10 odd balls of wool will be on their way out of the door on Wednesday!!

About to re-sort my baking shelves - they are spreading!!

Today my Komono sub categories are

    Hot water bottles and covers
    Sleeping bags
Box of carp from boot of car
Box of tools / miscellaneous DIY carp that OH insists on keeping in a basket in the office, and now one of the jars of screws has broken so he won't go in the basket and miscellaneous tools are dotted about on shelves.

It says it all that sleeping Bags and hot water bottles need a sub category of their own

We are also going to kondo weeds from the garden and some freezer stock in a bbq to celebrate doing the garden. Wine and beer may also be Kondoed

Not sure if I ground to a bit of a standstill. I thought a week off work would mean progress but I've done so much with the kiddies I've barely had time for laundry :o

I'm still mindful of the end game, though. And flinging useless bits as I come across them. The dining room table is covered in paper - kids artwork from this last school year. They are meant to be doing scrapbooks but we are not making much progress. So this afternoon I will edit / sort the piles to make it more manageable.

Stil loving the clothing situation though. So much easier to choose what to wear :T
