 Oh very well done, greent! Mahoosive congratulations.
Welcome to MFwin2019 and Supersaver1000, good to have you aboard. Never apologise for a long post, they're fascinating reading.
Was smiling this afternoon as I noticed that the pillowslip which I have been using constantly has finally given up the ghost. It's worn through on the other side and the fabric has actually split just now. Truly worn up and can be washed and then retired to the ragbag. I have another 5 identical pillowslips, so will examine them, selected the most worn one, and use that and finish that up.
I do not want to have an airing cupboard full of half-worn-out items which are an oversupply but not good enough to donate. Have seen a good example of that in my parental home and don't want it here.
Parents have kondo'd a table and chairs today and welcomed in their replacements (£25 for a good kitchen table and four chairs from chazzer). Broken-legged table and rickety chairs were too damaged to be donated so they dismantled them and taken them to the tip the same morning.
Got another update on my giftaid donations for Q1, less than half of the money raised in the first 3 months of the year (Q4 of 2014-2015) so I must clearly try harder...........:rotfl:I cut out the bit with the info on and stick it in my diary, all on the same page, so I can kondo the envelope and full sheet of paper. Have also dealt with an item which needed to be completed and mailed back and have re-purposed the envelope it came in.I'm trying to think of myself as being non-sticky. As in, things will not adhere to my person, handbag, household, unless and only as long as I will that they do so. Other things will just slide off, or completely fail to make it home with me. Getting very good at sidestepping people in the precinct offering flyers/ freebies etc. You can cause consternation by turning down freebies, I find.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Hi Konverts!
Had a lovely day on Friday, at the Civil Partnership, thank you. It was a lovely, hot sunny day, with spectacular thunder and lightning in late evening! The partners produced their indoor, white rabbit, wearing their rings - one on each ear - during the ceremony! And everyone loved my hat!:rotfl:
Had some bad news today: I have a cancerous tumour under one of my lower eyelids! But I'm still clinging to my JOY and
Will catch up on all your inspiring posts over the next couple of days.(Did you see what I did there?:rotfl:)

Sorry to hear your news, iQueen x
I have "done" socks and hosiery tonight. I didn't have lots of socks (suppose some might be in the wash) but about half can go. Ditto tights and leggings. Got rid of the cheapy shiny ones and kept the ones that feel nice to wear. I'll probably need a new pair of black opaques for work later in the year.
So, early impressions are good, I'm feeling comfortable to let things go, and roughly half of each category I've started I won't be keeping. Does that sound about right?Bossymoo

Iqueen just wanted to let you know I am thinking of you:grouphug:
Been way too busy to kondo anything but a friend who hasn't been here for ages could see a big difference so I am happy it is going in the right direction. Just lost the way buying too many new clothes, needed summary stuff but my wardrobe now feels cluttered, so think I need a reverse trip to return stuff, inc a pair of Clarks sandals which I loved but after wearing them in the house for an hour have fallen apart:eek: the whole sole is coming off one, the website doesn't have any left in my size which is disappointing, find shoe shopping hard enough:o. Take care all, and keep it up:beer:0 -
I'm sorry to hear your news iQueen. Sending you best wishes
I'm new to this thread, and new to the KonMari(e?) method. I've done some research (I haven't read the book, woops), but thought I'd have a go tonight!
My aim is to de-clutter ready for a downsize move. This won't be happening for a few years, but there's no harm in being prepared, right? My goal is to tackle one room a month. I know the KonMari method suggests doing one section first, such as clothes? But I've decided to tackle room by room. It's a little more bitesize :rotfl:(Not sure if this what I'm supposed to do, but hey!)
So tonight I tackled the guest bedroom. The chest of draws, wardrobe, and under the bed was jam packed of crap I hadn't touched in about a year. So with a good few tunes on, I can finally say I've got a huge black bag of rubbish, and a box full of things to sell/charity shop. This was an easy room, but it's one room down! Only 7 more to go! _pale_ Next room, kitchen!
So hi to everyone who uses this thread!! I hope to read lots of posts and get motivated
