Thank you all, Konvert Friends, for your good wishes and positive vibes!
In the hope that my experience might help others, PLEASE READ THIS!
We all probably know of the dangers of Melanoma/sunlight, and maybe check for signs, but, Basal Cell Cancer?
It started some years ago, with a tiny bump, which I thought was just an 'age wart'. This then disappeared, but recently, I noticed a slight kink in my lower row of eyelashes... and asked my dentist (!) about it, at my regular examination on Monday. She advised me to see my GP or optician, ASAP. I promptly went up the road to the nearest optician!
He identified it, and fixed an emergency appointment for yesterday at the Opthalmic Clinic, where the Opthalmic Surgeon confirmed the diagnosis and made an appointment for me with the Oculoplastic Surgeon for Friday morning. (Even the NHS can move fast when necessary!)
So, if you see any teeny bump, that wasn't there before - GET IT SEEN straight away.
Luckily, BCC is slow growing and doesn't spread to other organs and it is 90% curable, if seen soon enough. Fingers crossed!*************************
Your kondoing stories are keeping me on track, and this shock has sharpened my focus, no end! It has also made me consider, much more clearly, what stuff I want in my life and a lot more Stuff that is too unimportant to keep.
iTwin (mav) you are now officially carrying the woo baton, for the time-being, but I doubt that will shut me up for long!

Oh well that sounds positive, iQueen!
Agree about the reading. I'm not rushing in and have so far done handbags, socks and hosierybut I'm reading the book for the second time and even googled how to fold my socks last night
my sock shelf looks lovely!

I don`t think I am true KM but this thread certainly inspired me, several months ago. Take just my undies, I still roll my knicks and stack my bras. I didn`t have much time last week so attempted stuffing my knicks into the same space, they would not fit at all, so back to rolling. Absolutely no effort to keep the bedroom drawers tidy
I have had a lot of clearing to do since my husband recently died but now I am on things that I love or use as an older single person, always with a view to the future in 10 to 20 years. A new kitchen is being installed soon and I am doing without under worktop cupboards etc, all drawers going in of several different depths. Luckily I can pass on several good items to very grateful daughters and if not then to the cs
I am doing this kitchen clearing in sessions and am almost finished for today, having gone through the second stage of two drawers and 4 cupboards. Anything I am definitely keeping and not using for the next few weeks, has gone into large `really useful` boxes and are now stacked neatly in the hall. Not niggling me at all, in fact very good feng shui and it makes me happy
So far, bathroom, bedroom, lounge, dining and snug are done and it definitely makes me feel lighter0 -
Think you for the very honest warning Iqueen, glad that things are moving quickly and sound reassuringly positive for you.SPC~12 ot 124

iqueen, I had the tiniest spot on my face, with a silver bit on it. Very very tiny but it didn`t go away. I was sure it was a bcc and it was so I paid and had it taken off privately. That was 11 years ago and there have been no others. Very good luck with the procedure on friday. Bcc never did scare me but no harm in taking precautions0

iTwin So glad you are being seen so quickly.and yes the NHS can move quickly and thank goodness for that.Thank you for that information and I am sure we will all take that onboard and that any small tiny changes need to be checked out. I have also never heard of Basal !!! ever.
Joyful thoughts and postive vibes are being sent your way
As for the baton  Thats very big shoes to fill but I am sure I along with everyone else will keep kondoing and report our joyful carp staying and our unjoyful carp going :rotfl:Along with all the insights and the high and lows that this little book brings us.
This kondoing is hard
Life is hard
But kondoites are like diamonds or granite we are harder and I truely believe that since kondo came into my lifeSo I am still standing and making things joyful where have once they would have been a problem
So iTwin we will try but please be back soon as we need your wise words and ways of looking at things;) and I know you will be back soon to keep us in check

Welcome back, kittie! :coffee:
I'm glad that you are busy making a new life, even though it was unexpected. I remember your being on here earlier and I did check out some of your posts on other threads.
It is wonderful that you are finding some happiness again. I recently recovered my joy in living, and I find that it makes life, and even the carp that arises, so much easier to deal with.iqueen, I had the tiniest spot on my face, with a silver bit on it. It is a relief that BCC is a less threatening C. For me, the most worrying thing is the possibility of any disfigurement - vain person that I am!I don't mind a small faint scar - just don't want to end up with a wonky, unmatching eye! :rotfl:

Don'T Worry, Be Happy
We live in a world that doesn’t slow down, it’s seems everyone’s in a hurry
Which causes us lots of stress, lots of anxiety, and an abundance of worry.
We worry about money, our health, our children, we worry about being late
We worry about getting older, about our jobs and gaining weight.
I imagine amidst all this hustle, all this bustle, all this hapless hurrying
There are even people out there who worry about worrying!
Worrying can be debilitating, it can be an enemy and a curse
And everyone knows telling someone not to worry, only makes it worse.
So what do we do for our worriers, what can we tell them that would suffice?
How ‘bout if we scour the Internet and offer them other people’s advice.
For there is something everyone knows whether you’re 7 or 92
If you find it on the Internet then, by God, it has to be true.
OK all you worriers, and you know who you are.
Here’s sage advice from the Internet to add to your repertoire.
Don’t worry be happy is good advice we should never disavow
When you worry ask yourself this question, will this matter a year from now?
Worry doesn’t help with any future tribulation
At best it is a a misuse of ones imagination.
Worry never robs tomorrow of it’s sorrow, no matter what people might say
All it does is zap the joy and happiness from today.
And a big mistake we can make in life when all is said and done
Would be not acting because we’re worried about actually making one.
How many of us gather bundles of sticks, think of all the time we’ve lost
As we use those sticks to build bridges which we’ll likely never cross.
Yes if we think about it how much of our lives have to this point been blurred
By all the misfortunes we’ve had, that never actually occurred?
By the looks of all the people giving advice it seems that worrying has grown
If nothing else, isn’t it nice to know that as a worrier you’re not alone?
Does any of this help? Some of you may say yes others of you will doubt it
Did I just plagiarize a bunch of people? I shall not worry about it.
Because it won’t change the outcome, no matter how I worry or complain
And there ain’t no use puttin’ up my umbrella...that is, until it rains.
Jim Yerman
This is the lesson for today

Have no fear, I'm not going anywhere! It's just that woo wasn't top of my list for the past 2 days (too much RL), and you and I always seem to think alike! So, I knew you could do the woo, when my head is elsewhere! (You've obviously got big feet! And most of my shoes were kondoed, as mine feet have spread!) :rotfl:
I'd never heard of BCC either! Apparently, (after Google research on Monday night), it used to be called a 'rodent ulcer'! The opthalmic surgeon used that term yesterday, and I chipped in with "also known as BCC". He said "Oh, are you a pathologist?" I said "No, a trained researcher!" Laughs all round. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
You're right about Life being hard. After 2 failed marriages and lone-parent to 5 children, I had become a dull pessimist, before recently finding JOY. Now, Life is a just a laugh, no matter what happens! It's just too silly to take seriously, once I realised there is very little (apart from the house) that I actually can control! :rotfl:
Like you, I am finding joy in all sorts of small things, like your baby rabbits, friends, flowers, bumble bees, misty hills, even the amazing purple bruises on my knee, after tripping over on Mr M's tiled floor on Monday! :rotfl:(Bl00dy non-slip soles on my walking boots!)
Oh, thanks for my new theme-song: (sings, badly) I'm still standing... tra la la!
BTW, have you tried Red Bush tea, yet? I tried it in a cafe a few weeks ago, after all the hype I'd heard about it. Bleh! Glad I hadn't bought a pack!
Time for a coffee and a bacon sandwich, methinks.Needs, NOT wants!
