*waves to all* I haven't been kondoing properly - more like a declutter than being ruthless. However, each time I go through a category, I'm finding more things can go - I think the 'joy' mindset might be beginning to come out!

I can't do a full category at a time, I recently got a ME/CFS diagnosis and potentially have fibromyalgia as well. I've been doing small subsections of categories and it slowly seems to be helping. 2 bags went to the charity shop a while ago, got 1 and a half ready as well as several loads for ragging. I am hoping thinning out the possessions will make it easier to keep on top of the flat (my half anyway, my flatmate's bits are his problem!) as I'm usually functional for no more than a few hours daily.

    TO DO

Move things to new home in big storage cupboard
    Ornaments
    Jeans/trousers
Kitchen *groans* tiny kitchen, not much extraneous in there anyway
    Wool/Yarn mountain needs used up
Use desk storage - no idea I ignored all those drawers and shelves. odd

I've done the bathroom and most of my clothes, well, once through the clothes. That may need revisited

I love it when they tell me that I have a problem on my computer and tell me that they will fix it over the phone.
I quite enjoy these too - I have two approaches; one is to listen to them and keep saying that I'm doing what they want whilst I carry on clearing the cupboard out, emptying the dishwasher and then act surprised when they don't get what they want, and the other is to let them carry on babbling whilst picking the phone up every now and again and saying Mmm and then put it back in the dog's bed. Either seems to make them go away eventually and effectively wastes their time and phone bill though I do worry about anyone who doesn't really understand and gives these scoundrels access to their computers.

Scam calls - I just say, "How long do you want to stay on the line for?". I don't say anything else. It doesn't usually take them long to twig they'll get nowhere:rotfl:

Haven't had chance to do much KM as paid work got in the way!?! Have big plans for the whole weekend though. I was awoken by a LBM this morning which MAY provide a storage solution for my fleeces, cardies and casual jackets. I have already kondo'd one of the big drawers under my bed, holiday clothes now in small suitcase, beautifully rolled of course:wink:;). I HOPE my winter fleeces and jackets will fit in there, freeing up a draw that is not quite so big (because at the mo everything in there is squashed so I cannot easily get stuff out). So I guess it will be a bit like doing a Rubik cube, making several moves til I get it right... Finding the place where something belongs is the second stage, after you have selected the joyful items to keep, isn't it?

I nearly forgot, I did get rid of two things from the kitchen that were burdening me with frustration and irritation. I have a v small kitchen with nowhere to store my laundry basket so it kicked around the floor, or got moved from the tabletop and was always in the way. It was driving me mad. Soooooo, another LBM came forth... I dug out one of those folding crates, the ones you push the ends inwards and collapse the sides down, it is perfect for moving laundry about and then folds to a couple of centimeters and slots inbetween the kitchen units. I was so joyful when released the old basket to the CS.:j

The second thing that went the same way was the wire basket from my sink. Now i did love that because i hate washing up bowls ( always having empty them
if you just have to run the tap for a mo, etc). I realised that i only have a small
sink and always wash up using minimum water so the bowl was not saving the
environment any. I now have a lovely sort of 'L-shaped mat to protect the sink
bottom while leaving the plughole accessible. It's so convenient.

There, how domesticated do I sound?
And i got rid of two baskets, figuratively speaking!

    M
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

    Hello everyone
I haven't posted or kept up with this fabulous thread for ages
But just came on to have a rant if that's ok.
I've been very busy packing up my relatives things the one I look after. They are moving next week into a one bed flat from a two bed
So it will be easier for them no stairs and their own front door.
Plus a third of the current rent with avoiding the bedroom tax.:money:

Well I've been getting rid of some excess furniture so I rang a national charity who have furniture shops. I won't mention them as they do a lot of good and I don't want diss them as it was only the van men I had a problem with. There was a perfectly good sofa bed to go. I had been asked if it was clean and had the regulation fire hazard tags on. Yes it hadn't hardly been used and had the said tags.
The fat elvis lookalike turned up with a gormless sidekick and said they couldn't take it as it was heavily stained. No it isn't I said it's as new! He took away 4 bags of 4xl clothes most with tags on never worn (too small even for him I think). Plus a small table.
Imagine my horror when I left...they had dumped the table outside the flat and left two bags of the clothing in the hallway. Wew has he heard of fly tipping laws. i Have reported them to the charity HQ and they have apologised. Offers to pick the items up. However another charity has agreed to take them.
Jeez it's a charity For @:+# sake not John Lewis!
Those 4xl clothes were expensive the chazzers love them as they sell really well.

Regarding the cold callers I heard a good one once
Someone had answered one of these calls and said in a low chilling voice
"It is done....but there is a lot of blood.... Lol

:) I had my first ever nuisance text yestereve, off a foriegn number, offering to get me a four figure sum for the accident I've just had. Racking my brains hard, I can only think they meant the skinned knucke I got a few weeks ago when scrubbing a wicker linen hamper free of colour.

Well, it was an accident, I didn't do it on purpose and somebody owes me big time..............Gotta be worth £3.5k of anyone's money.

I have a pal who is referred to on here as the Computer Wizard. And this has been his career for 30 years as an independant contractor. Last time he was over here he was telling me how he got one of these faulty computer calls from some numpty and played with him over the phone for about 40 minutes. As in playing like a cat plays with a mouse, I reckon. It amused him to do so and I told him I thought it was excellent as he'd kept that beggar from pestering someone else for those 40 minutes.

Going to the allotment for a few hours today, for the first time in 7 days. I am expecting to have strawberries and broad beans. And backache and lots of weeds. When people ask what I grow on my allotment, I'm tempted to say TIRED!

It was going to be my first lie in... Past 730 in weeks. I'd even stayed up late as I was so excited. Friend away so have her dog here and dog decided otherwise!! Dog is now cosy on the rug having a nap, I would go back up to bed but dd has taken over my bed while I was out!

KD might be on the back burner today as I catch up with shopping, aparently the world has ending as there is only a little tomato sauce left!

If I ever get one of those stupid calls and ive got time. I start screaming and go into breakdown mode :rotfl:Think omg how could of this happened why me could it have been to do with the £50k I transfered into my spending account yesterday ;) I cant speak due to the stress of it all while faking sobbing noises and making a cup of tea:D. Think Oscar winning acting :rotfl: After about 20 mins of this before I can even start doing what they want me to do. They are saying please calm down Mam in a soothing voice and I just carry on :rotfl:screaming and sobbing in their ear :) They put the phone down before their Migraine gets a lot lot worse :D

I do love winding them all up when I am in the mood and have the time to do it. An old lady down the road from me was taken in by this lot and had a nightmare trying to sort it all out and by the time she did £300 had gone from her account :(

So if you want some stress relief this really helps and it will kondo them out of your life for a while as they will not ring back for ages :)

Thing is with these calls they ask you to go through 'their security' by asking your personal details dob ect.
I usually ask if the will go through mine.
Asking them to spell their name taking ages to write it down then saying oops can you tell me that again?
Some of them sound quite young and are forced to take these call centre jobs with zero hour contracts or lose benefits. That's in this country any way.
I tell them I have a tele preference set up and it is illegal to ring me
They can be sued for ringin you
I have had a couple of calls where it is a preset recording and you can't even get to speak just telling you to ring a number at the end
    So blooming annoying.
