Coming up for a breather and a sandwich. Enforced kondo/clearing of office/study is throwing up all sorts of gems, stuff for CS/recycle/bin and things long thought buried and some forgotten. But I am being ruthless and have neat piles of things that will be leaving this house very soon and stuff that will be burnt tonight on log burner. I had tackled my filing cabinet on a regular basis during this process and each time ditched plenty so not going through it this time. OH has also recently tackled his FC ( yes we are a multi owing FC family - 4 of them:o) I am working up to emptying and getting rid of a 2 drawer one that is currently hidden behind some boxes....its been n my sights for a while but not urgent as I thought it probably nly contains stuff for work and seeing as I havent opened in a long time I am guessing what is in there is out of date/no longer needed. However as we still cant find that Very Important Piece of Paper I am wondering if its in there.............anyway plan is to be methodical and ruthless. Sort boxes then get to FC. Empty it and put it on fr**gle and fingers crossed that VIPP turns up! I have applied for a replacement BTW but its proving very difficult to get:(

Hi All, I haven't been on for a while but it's lovely to see so much has been achieved by so many, and lots of new Konverts, too!

I am trying to do paperwork - has any else found that the Darn Stuff fights back? There is So Much of it, and I find that (apart from aching back from standing) I can't do more than an hour without needing a break. I am getting - not 'palpitations' exactly, but - 'weak and wobbly'; I tell myself it's just the enormity of getting shot of Stuff which is scarey, but it ain't nice and makes everything very slow.

I'm actually hiding here now, because my niece and her partner are very kindly coming over tomorrow to help me get some surplus furniture into the garage, and I can't cope with the feelings that some of it, joyless and cluttery as it is, will be out of the house if not yet out of my life. Weird or what?

I also found myself getting a fresh top out of the drawer and hesitating for a moment because it was "too nice to put on"! What nonsense! But I had to wear it because all the joyless stuff had gone :rotfl: .

I have Kondo'ed some crockery out of the kitchen cupboard and replaced it with a set which was living in the box room; now I need to box up the Kondo'ed items for the charity shop.

But I have been very much encouraged because not only have the clothes stayed sorted and tidy but also the ironing basket was emptied a couple of weeks ago, including some things which had been there for so many months that they needed rinsing (dust, spiders etc.) before they could be ironed.

Two carrier bags full of books and tat were kondoed to school at lunchtime.
I've messed up the whole floor by emptying two big bags full of old paperwork and am working my way through them now I'm back from work, I've told DH as it was the club he ran with a couple of friends and I just helped with its his say what goes, so I'm making two piles keep and get rid, we can go through both over the weekend and hopefully get it all neatly into one of the bags until the time comes that it can all go.

I have just opened door to person dropping off bags for charity collection. Took bag from their hands saying 'you dont know how much joy this brings me' I think they thought I was bonkers as I dont suppose they get many people who greet them! Now I can get rid of some old duvets - did check that they take them:)

Well the to go pile of papers is satisfyingly bigger than the keepers, just had a lovely phone call from DD2 and had DGS gurgling down the phone at me. Going to neaten and sort the keeper paperwork and get it all tidied away. Also got some that can go to one of the friends who still runs a similar club.
DH commented that I must have been busy in the kitchen as it looks bigger, when pushed he asked if I'd clean the window as he couldn't tell what if anything was missing but it definately looks brighter. (No I haven't clean the window)

:) OK, have kondo'd a bag of misc out to the charity shop and come back with an item for £1 from another charity shop, a tall cyclindrical fancy foriegn bikkie tin to hold my samosa'd placcy bags neatly on the top of the cupboard. I'm in and out of these several times daily and don't want them cupboarded, so thought I'd search for an attractive container, and there it was.

    It's positively joyous.

Just got really annoyed with a spam call,

I'm in TPS, but still get foreign spam calls. I love it when they tell me that I have a problem on my computer and tell me that they will fix it over the phone.

I listen intently, then tell the caller to "get a proper job - I'm an ICT teacher"! :rotfl:

Sadly, it was beyond me to fix the major Internet outage in our area, yesterday! Only came back a little while ago. :( So, I had to spend today, doing housework and casual kondoing. It was joyful actually, and there's another small space cleared, with the paintwork washed too! Another 3 books went, on impulse yesterday, and 2 pairs of jeans have been laundered, and are drying ready for the chazzer bag. ;)

Had another result yesterday, as well. The legal wrangle I've been dragged into, and which sent me into melt-down a few weeks ago, I have refused to even think about since... got a letter to say that it is on the brink of resolution, with the otherside giving substantial ground! :j

I came across this uplifting comment on the MK method, if Konverts wants a boost, or anyone else needs convincing. :)

Book is on reserve at the library - can't wait! I have plenty of time now too as our latest buyers have pulled out - the third time this has happened! All for different reasons - but I don;t think we should be paying to do a full structural survey on our house for the buyers! What chancers!

So - it's back to square one - and out with the rubbish! I hate having to have everything super tidy for viewings - we have 5 tomorrow and none so far for Sunday so perhaps I can get stuck in then!
