Good Evening All (or maybe good very early morning All),

I am not happy with my Kondo efforts, i thought i was but upon really looking at my home i am not happy.

I am rereading the bible to see where i have gone wrong, i suspect its because i didn't stick to categories, and i have been buying stuff again. I rushed into it without finishing the bible and flitted about discarding whatever i saw.

I am not too disheartened, well i am about the buying things which is obviously some other deepseated problem that i will need to work on.

Onwards, upwards and back to rereading the bible.

well done on all your efforts, keep up the good work.

PS our car is called Foosty, but most other stuff in our house is called carp.

    regards

You are going to do the best thing reread and start again. I have done this on quite a few categories you cant do this as a major declutter it is a journey! The good thing is for you is a lot of the clutter has gone so you have an excellent starting point now :)

I know a lot of people who have completed it like you have and felt the same as you. Not joyful not happy and not FINISHED. I think that is the key you cant be happy with what you have left as you have not finished your journey mentally.

I have now done clothes again for about the 7th time  yesterday I went back to basics everything was pulled out and put on the floor and I started again as it was a niggling doubt in my head and I kept being pulled back there.

This isnt a process to be taken lightly as it really gives you elation one minute and black dog (as I call it ) the next.I think you do need to experience this in order for this to work and nothing not one thing can be skipped over.

I really wish you luck but you are going to have to really start feeling it.You will get there if I can anyone can do it but be prepared to dig deep and really look into yourself and you will find the answers. I just wish I could tell you what they are but I cant that is up to you :)

Cant see Marie wearing an apron or overall just wouldnt bring her joy I dont think :)

As she said its like her brand and what her clients expect. I can forgive her as I love the kondo factor and it really does work !

In the book she says that she always works wearing a skirt and blazer as she likes to look smart and it doesn't prevent her from climbing on furniture etc. She lost me at 'blazer'! :rotfl:

Edited to say what is the difference between a Blazer and a Jacket ?
I always remember my Dad or was it Mum saying years ago to go and get their Blazer !
Thinking about this did a Blazer have one button and a jacket have more than one ? Just a thought in my very muddled brain !

So now we know why they make these soaps and towels as there really is a market for them :) Hope another one comes in for the fete as everyone had such a laugh about it.

Went to get a thinner jumper out (fingers crossed summer is finally on its way) and realised I am going to have to be far more ruthless over tops and jumpers.
I easily got rid of the 'what was I thinking' ones, but the right colour/right size ones stayed. Bit missing? right style - I don't wear v-necks or 3/4 sleeves any more.
    Oh well, onwards and upwards.
Must go and have a look at that article, I would say 'accept that she is a successful businesswoman and take what works for you from what she says'.

Tooties, all the best for Kondo Take 2.

Definitely not feeling the joy here yet as the more I do, the worse state my home is in! That's the trouble with small space living - I'm having to keep moving things from one place to another whilst I'm sorting. Can't wait for it all to have a home as I've been tripping over it all for 8 years (moved from much larger home).

Good news is that a large sack of shreddings left with my friend yesterday, lots went in the recycle bin and scrap paper drawer has been refilled.

There are still 5 files to go through in the top drawer of the filing cabinet and the whole of the bottom drawer is to be done. Found 2 missing documents that I've been looking for and several things which should have been binned years ago have been sent out of the door.

Once I've finished the cabinet, I will be able to file other things away as I go through the piles and boxes in rest of the room. It's going to take an age as there is just so much of it, and I've already done loads as there were dozens of box files too.
