Just done my "non posh" glasses
On reflection - i think the three plastic champagne glasses can go .....
Was that 'on reflection' pun intended?
If it was its quite witty:rotfl
reflection=glasses .........ill get me coat!
I love nutella glasses as they have lids. Great on bedside tables for meds ect, so nothing gets spilt or wee beasties crawling in for a sup.
Nutella is also great for sandwiching chocolate cakes as we dont like butter icing.”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)

Morning all, got up this morning and kondo'd my t-shirt/tops drawer and made a start to my trouser/jeans draw. Need to do some more later but trying to work my way through my uni reading for an assignment I've got due next week. Glad I found this now, as I have 2 boys aged 4 & 6 who share a bedroom and a baby on the way due October so need to get organised before he/she arrives!Grocery Challenge 2024

Grrr, these forum issues are starting to get a bit wearing. I am MK'ing alongside the sell £1K in 2015 thread and so far have managed to kondo £728.50 worth of stuff that no longer brings me joy. This is in addition to the huge amount of bags that have gone to the charity shop.If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

Re old CDs, they are popular with allotmenters (is that even a word?) to use as bird scarers, and schools love them for making things with so you might get a home by ringing schools or allotments or putting on freecycle etc.
Just kondoed a phone call to dd2, need to get a move on now.SPC~12 ot 124

I crack up, Jinny, every time you make a quip and say you'll get your coat! :rotfl:
Thanks for the Nutella tip! I had a slice of cake at the Community Shop n Cafe on Tuesday, but had to leave the thick icing - just too sweet (for me!) I may just start baking the occasional choc sandwich now.Needs, NOT wants!

You turn your back for 5 minutes (well, maybe a week) on this thread and when you get back there's another 15 pages! Very impressed with all the hard work and successes that have been going on.
Although it's a few pages back now, I feel I need to add that I am also the proud owner of a brown towel - handed down from my Mum
(one of my parents' wedding gifts I believe!). It is holding up far better than some of the newer towels which are less than 10 years old (hem coming undone, hole wearing through the middle of another!).
Same with bedsheets.
I kondoed the contents of my kitchen last week - took everything out, and then slowly brought back in what I wanted to keep. The dining table was stacked high with stuff.
It's a small galley kitchen with v few cupboards and everything kind of got chucked in 2 1/2 years ago when I moved in. Found a few things that are no longer bringing me joy which have been relegated to the charity shop box, and the rest was returned in a much more practical order where I can find stuff and tupperware doesn't fall on my head when I open the cupboard
I'm now working on my bedroom - clearing everything out and putting back only what sparks joy. Although I did clothes, I need to get round to my toiletries/make up and all the other carp that has taken up illegal residence in there.
Having that clean 'canvas' to put things back into really does seem to make a difference. Only the joy-sparking items will qualify. And you can see what's there rather than trying to look all the clutter. However the lounge is in chaos! Well, will be a good reason to get it done before anyone comes to visit!"Does it spark joy?" - Marie Kondo

I released 3 large boxes (crisp box size) of Lego today. I love Lego but my son only plays with it periodically. I could have sold it I know but I have passed it on to my son's After School club. They were really happy. My son has loved his time with them and the club has really helped him to develop socially. I was a bit worried about him at one point.
I have learned from you lovely lot that sometimes the more important value in something is the joy it brings to the owner. I am pleased to say that the Lego will be able to bring joy to lots more youngsters.
My son was more than happy for them to have it.
9th square is now clear again for more stuff to be found to release. Yay!De cluttering Konvert.Getting there
Finding a new home under all the STUFF!0 -
Goodness every one seems very busy. It must be the weather! I've in the last two days kondo-ed several bits and pieces from two bedrooms. Today I went through son's bedroom, who is now married and with children (!), and sorted out what is left behind. I've found none of them completely empty their rooms when they disappear! Bag of brand new DVD's given to him as Christmas present over the past couple of years. All boxed sets containing 3 or 4 dvd's in each x 5 boxes! The charity shop will benefit. Also sorted out GD's clothes aged 2/3 years (she is now 5) and although immaculate and names like Monsoon etc they will also be given to the charity shop. I would love to give them to someone who has nothing or very little as I know they would give joy to that family as well as to me. Sadly I don't know anyone so charity shop it is.
Decided not to rip out built in bedroom furniture, although really want to, but have contacted the well known company asking them if they can come and look to see if it can be altered. Fingers crossed. Bedroom will need new carpet if I get my way but that is a small price to pay compared to new furniture we would have to purchase.0
