This is so helpful to me, especially GreyQueen's 'magic wand' approach. Since I sorted out the fabric and wool stash the UFOs have been hanging around annoying me as I couldn't decide what to do with them. Trouble is, there is a huge amount of guilt involved - I bought the materials, I wanted to do them (one was meant to be a present for a friend :() and now I have either lost enthusiasm or lost my way.

    So, thought for the day:
"To regret one's own experiences is to arrest one's own development. To deny one's own experiences is to put a lie into the lips of one's own life. It is no less than a denial of the soul ... " De Profundis, Oscar Wilde (and he should know!)

I am going to thank some of these UFOs for the lessons I have learned and send them on their way, even if though in one case this will be the charity ragbag.
Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.

For the first time in way too long, I needed pyjamas and was able to pull them straight out of the drawer without rummaging first. And it didn't leave a mess. I was enjoying the process before but now I'm a definite convert!!
    Looking ahead

    Good morning.

Well it has taken a while, but I have finally finished sorting and donating books! :j

Next stage .... paperwork. This one could take a really long time. I have paperwork dating back to circa 2000 :o

Have a lovely day all :)

springdreams if you will be shredding a lot of this, remember to douse the odd page liberally in WD40 to keep your shredder in good nick. I've finally managed to get mine to stop squeaking, poor thing took a lot of abuse!

Well DD was very unhappy this morning. She needed her birth certificate for a job interview but couldn't find it.

She took it ages ago when applying for college and it has got 'lost' in her room. It was in a green folder she shrieked. I would have able to find it if you had not been in my room she complained.

Now the only reason I go in her room is to recover towels and crockery but as always the losing of the certificate is my fault.
Is it wrong to be sitting here feeling smug with my own paperwork organised? Don't get me wrong I want her to get a job but I have been offering to help sort the room since January. She always refuses. Maybe this will get her to sort her stuff. I can live in hope.

Offf to have a go on my vibrio plate which I set up last night in my bedroom. The floor was finally clear of dd2 things and my girls where commenting on how they forgot what a big space I have at the bottom of my bed!

I do have downstairs to tidy. This is things brought down but should not take long as they are either car boot, recycle or rubbish. However, it was dd1 bday earlier in week so as today is payday are going for lunch first!

It is raining in Norwich :(

Meant to be nice tomorrow though so will do some weeding and put straw down for my strawberries. Then will probably spend the day on the hammock if it's nice enough! I may also tidy the shed and put unwanted gardening stuff in a bag on gumtree. Will also check the progress of a tin of paint I'm trying to dry out so I can bin it (not allowed to put wet paint in bin in case it leaks and tip won't take it).

Interesting discussions on bins. I put my black on out around every 8 weeks and recycling every 4. My recycling gets so full it is ridiculous. I don't eat processed food but even just with meat trays, milk bottles, empty tins and rubbish mail coming through door it gets full :(
I am going to load the car up tonight with stuff for rspca shop. It's mainly stuff for them to send to the rehoming centre such as towels and bags of tatty stuff for rags. Also got some pillows and they said they can sell those for people wanting cheap pet beds so will take them along as well.
