    Morning all
I can't really do the DVDs as much as I'd love to they ar DHs domain and I know that he is by heart a border and finds it difficult but slowly slowly wins the race, he's already willingly done his clothes and suggested* that we'll need a skip for his mum garage to clear his late dads painting stuff.
*several hints dropped over a few months but it's now Dh that has come up with the idea and is suggesting it;)

Got up a bit late so rushed DS1 off to work then made some icord for neighbours bootees - they have already been given to her. So that's a bit of wool out the house:D
While making the cord I was looking at my dressing table which escaped yesterday's purge of the room. There are things on there that can go. I don't need a vase full of cheap plastic Valentine hearts and various things florists have stuck in bouquets over the years to know my DH loves me, they do look really naff now through my kondoing eyes:o and one of the girls brought me a lovely reed oil diffuser a few years ago, while the vase part is pretty, oil stained curly dusty 'reeds are NOT. I may wash the vase out and see if I get some more oil but the sticks can go.
Random middle of the night thought was about the box of decorations the children made as little ones at playgroup. I have yogurt pots of crumbling washing powder with dried flowers stuck in, and snowmen made from loo rolls and mangy looking cotton wool along with crumbly flour and water tree deccys.( times them all by five as they all went to the same playgroup and the makes never changed in all the years mine attended!) last year I sorted them all into one box and sealed it with a label saying "homemade Christmas bits don't open again just keep" I always used to get them out look at them and put them back as they really aren't fit to display, but this year or at some point before Christmas I will get them down open the box and thank them for the joy they gave my children making them and the pleasure they gave us as a dimly that first Christmas and then I will let them go.

My kids are teenagers and I do think if I start getting rid of things they have made they will be upset, maybe just for a short while anyway. My DD made a butterfly pic on a canvas. I asked her if it was ok to go now as we have had the joy from it and she agreed. I was gutted that I forgot to take a photo of it before it went tho. Lesson learned.

I've got photos of the Christmas things taken with their little creators as they came home from playgroup (in amongst the boxes and boxes of photos) a couple of mine are horders like their dad and would happily keep everything. But want it kept here not at their own places. Others when I've asked have expressed amazement that I've still got said item as they'd forgotten about it.
The Christmas items I'm referring to are now heading for 20 years old some over that so they are falling apart and full of dust.

They all know how many bags of cuddlies are in the attic but most belong to the horders of the family and they come to the summer fete with me. It was embarrassing when they were younger I'd culled a few to the fete and they had goes on the cuddly stall and won their own back (judgement on me) DD2 exclaimed delightedly oh I've got twins for lots of my cuddlies now as I already have ones like these at home:eek::o I recall fobbing her off with, I can't remember where abouts in the attic they are but you have these to play with now and they are identical;)

I'm sure I don't need a whole drawer of socks and tights so I'm looking forward to throwing and folding like mad over the next couple of days!

Thing is with these though, is that they do wear out - once I had found all of the tights, they filled a whole drawer :o I could have sworn I only had about 3 pairs :p, but i have kept them all in one place, made a mental note not to buy anymore and will wear them until they have run out.

Socks also disappear or go to holes so i have kept them all - used odd ones while decorating, and others have gone in the recycling as soon as a hole appears. But at least having so many means you can discard the "iffy" ones with ease...

I had a lovely hour yesterday wandering round a small welsh town near where i am staying. it is a bohemian y hippy type place with lots of second hand / antique shops and craft places. Could have spent a fortune but didn't - just looked. I did buy a top from a charity shop - it was a Jane Norman and cost £2.99 (lady behind counter visibly blanched that it was so cheap - "oh dear, many of my volunteers don't recognise the names") but I have got better at knowing what suits me and this will.

I am also looking for a nest of tables to "shabby chic" - there are various on ebay so hopefully will get one of them.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

VJsmum, that's what I did with mine. I hadn't realised how many pairs of tights I'd got and how many socks the menfolk have but they are now all in the right drawers together and they are going as they ladder or hole I'm just not needing to buy replacements for quite a loong time.

Well done, Mrs MP! 'Empowering' the DH is a great strategy. Hope it works! ;)

The other day I was about to kondo a vase of artificial sunflowers, which had been standing on the floor of the spare bedroom, surrounded by komono, covered in protection (dust!) But, they do bring bright joy, so I was able to brush them clean, and they are now in a white vase, standing on a shelf above the stairs, greeting me with a splash of sun every time I come downstairs! :)

On the other hand, I have some big, blowsy, faded, blue silk roses which look horrible, downstairs, (that I can't reach at present! :o) along with 'florist tat' - those will definitely go. Planned to kondo that vase too, (gift from DD3 :undecided) but I have thought of the perfect place for it! Joy, oh joy - MK shows us the answers! :j

I only have one tatty Xmas dec from 'school makes' - a card angel, which goes on top of the tree and makes me feel a homely, cosiness! ;)

Will be venturing into the Boxroom of Doom, today, where plenty of Jumble Sale donations are hiding!

Must be [STRIKE]careful[/STRIKE] methodical, or I could end up barricading my bedroom doorway! :(

If I can get it done quickly, I shall be able to get the bags over to the Community Shop straight away! :T

I'm not getting rid of anything belonging to my children, which they are (apparently!) storing in my home! :(

When my kondoing is finished, I shall ask them to come and get their Stuff, and give them a deadline - otherwise, it gets kondoed! (They are all over 30, and have their own homes to 'store' their Stuff!) :rotfl:

the books have been done and are now ready to be packed and sent. I am hoping the 3 boxes I have found will be big enough and will send them this afternoon. I just have to tell myself that the tiny amount I will get for them is better than nothing
