Back from taking my mil to the Drs for an injection. I asked her what she'd done today and she said as I'd made her wardrobes look so nice the other week she decided to tackle her 'pantie' drawer she's a bit long in the tooth to be told to ask if her knickers bring her joy so I think basically it was the "does the laggy still hold up test" at the hospital on a recent check up I was helping her dress and asked why she wore a girdle as it was torture helping her into it. Her reply my panties are a bit loose so the girdle holds them up. She's saving the new ones I bought her last Christmas "for best"
I just hope to goodness the knicker cull means they are coming into use.
Managed to crochet 3 squares for Nepal in the waiting room so a bit more wool will be leaving the house.

I have been wondering what to do with my griddle as it only seems to come out once a year to make Welsh cakes ............now I know;):rotfl:

Igamogam. I hate auto correct with a passion. It's alway doing that to my posts.

The only way I could think of using a griddle to hold your Knicks up is to make and eat more welsh cakes then the laggy would be tighter

    Autocorrect is terrible.
I once was sending a "love you" text to my OH and mistyped the word love and it autocorrected it to over. Luckily I noticed before I sent him an "over you" text! :rotfl:
Last week I was typing "I'd love a cuddle" and I mistyped cuddle so it was autocorrected to fiddle!! :o

That's just made me laugh out loud clutterfree, I bet he thought his luck was in!

In kondo world the bits I was on about earlier have been cleared from the dressing table, having a cuppa in peace as Ive found myself home alone bee iffy between ds2 going round a friends and ds1 due home from work. The house seems incredibly quiet and peaceful all I can hear is a happy blackbird in the garden.

Probably not! But a commune was set up outside the town in the 1970s, on land belonging to a sympathetic owner, who eventually gave it to them.

They moved forward growing their own food, and living according to sustainable principles.

Now it is the Centre for Alternative Technology and, I believe a plc (Alternative! It doesn't pay dividends!) :rotfl:

So, with new generations having grown up there, the hippie ethos is strong in the area. Wales as a whole is very much in tune. probably because other hippies were also drawn to the country, where alternative living was possible. Suits me, as an old hippie, too! Wales recycles more waste than any other part of the UK, beating the UK target, at 52%. :T

Gosh - you have reminded me - I spent a summer near Machynlleth in the 1980s and cycled to the Centre for Alternative Technology daily to do volunteer work. I remember a sustainable house with solar panels, wind generators and methane capture and wonderful vegetable beds. I believe it is now very much more organised and mainstream but haven't been back for years.

I wonder why it has taken the rest of the world so long to catch up with the ideas being generated there then

I've found the full version of the poem with the mention of not saving the pink rose shaped candle, it is really moving and beautiful, I want to share it with you but not sure about copyright so I've put a link if you want to read it. It's just made me cry I'll admit as I hadn't read the full poem before or knew the reason behind it.

    Afternoon all

Took the bags of stuff to the scrap store today.
Went to buying washing powder and rather than stocking up I just brought one box, it may have been harder if it was on special offer.

Going to do a little bit of paperwork now before visiting my friend and Mum in the same hospital.

DS2 has his last uni exam of the year today, he said, I kid you not " tomorrow I will Kon Marie like I have never done before, because I have never done it before". He can't wait to join in!
