You don't get any lumps and bumps under tee shirts and even at 60, the girls are nearer my armpits than my elbows
Whoo hoo found it all by myself as I suddenly saw a handy search this thread thingy and wadaya know...............:DBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

VJ's mum - Imagine your Auntie was here - would she be saying "No, you can't possibly buy that painting because I don't like it!"
Or would she say "It's not my cup of tea, but I'm glad you've found a painting you love to remind you of me!"
ETA Thank you Igamogam (and maryb!) - I couldn't find it either and wanted to get the number so I could look for one in the shop! I've bookmarked it now.0 -
Well, I've started. Done 3 drawers and managed to get all my t-shirts into 1. I have a couple of jumpers in another and the last one is trousers.
Still not sure about the trousers - do they do better hung up? Or is that more for dresses?
I'll tell you what I have noticed - I have an awful lot of stuff that I bought for a 'reason', a christening, a work's do, a night out...
Not one item has been worn more than once. At least 10 items I've found that I won't wear again.
VJ's mum - buy the picture if you love it!0 -
15 more items so far gone from the clothes section and still not 100% joyful about it. Same with shoes I need to revisit very soon.
Its so strange as you really do know you are not joyful about it and have a nagging feeling everytime you go near
It is very strange, isn't it. I finally 'finished' clothes at the weekend - had done an initial cull before moving house, then the big ruthless purge at the weekend. Even though I've got it down from three jam-packed wardrobes to one and a half, with space between the hangers, I just know it's not complete and there is more that needs to go out.
But I'm leaving it at that for now and moving on to another category, and will come back to the clothes again later.
What is has taught me is to know what clothes I like wearing (which hopefully also means they suit me) - I had a little look online in the bank holiday sales (just looking, not buying) and could hear myself thinking, "no the neckline is not quite right on that one", etc., which in the past I might have thought, "not quite right, but it would do" - so hopefully will be much more judicious for future purchases.
Keep up the good work everyone!
Edit: to say I've been watching these videos on the 'Ten Item Wardrobe' and wondering if that the way to go ... https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2Vy9DfN2zyNFNfQuF19CiQcOc9slc-970 -

I think Marie Kondo would say folded - I folded mine first but then realised I needed the drawer space for jumpers and teeshirts, and there was lots of space in the wardrobe, so I hung them up there instead - I liked them folded but also like seeing them in the wardrobe as I can pick a pair of trousers and blouse in one go. I guess whatever works best for you.0 -

Glad my 20p Vietnam book survived the cull.
I tried to Kondo my clothes, or should I say I DID Kondo them - but I was very pleased to find I have a lot that spark joy, even a few things I nearly didn't even try on as I didn't think I liked them but once on I really did :T. I did Kondo one bag full, but the PrimarnsakirtthatlookslikeaMissoni lives to fight another day (though it's in the 'doesn't quite fit, come back when you've lost a few pounds' case). I genuinely am going to lose weight, a few pounds gone already, honest

I am impressed that the bits I have kondoed are still tidy. OH came home with a bottle of washing up liquid and it went straight in the cupboard. Previously even the original one wouldn't have fitted in and no hope for a new one.
Yellow bear I have hung my trousers up and folded OH's. I only have about 5 pairs of trousers and I think a couple of those will go in round 2. OH on the other hand has far too many pairs and I keep suggesting he should sort through them. I have always hung mine which is why they are hung and I didn't think about folding them to be honest and OH doesn't have room to hang his which is why they are folded. That's not vey helpful is it:rotfl:saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

Thank you so much to mav, iQueen, greyqueen. jellbaby, greentiger, clutterfree, dustyk, bluedoggy, mrsmoneypenny and all those that sent messages and hugs,I slept all night and woke better able to face the day.
It is all about managing things as they happen, not looking too far ahead but being prepared all at the same time.Looking at the end result can be very depressing and good things do happen on journeys .I am so fortunate to have wonderful family and friends, and all of you for support.
It has been a beautiful bright sunny day,I even managed to kondo some things from both my home and Mums. A friend is kondoing dust at Mums, as I am not able to do much since having an argument with a car(knee and hand are slowly improving-5 weeks off work!).Whilst Mum is in hospital I have been having a quiet sort through her clothes and will incinerate old paperwork from both our homes. Bit of a random kondo but doable.
Goodnight all
