Well my clothes are all done - did books this morning (why I always have at least 30 books waiting to be read????) Was ruthless - have loads of books on my Kindle waiting to be read so dont need any more cluttering up my shelves - they are GAWN. After tea will do my candles and holders - again, they are all over the place - i was trying to light some tea lights last night and lost the plot cos I couldnt find the lighter......as a result of culling my wardrobe I have a lovely basket that just fits nice in my unit in my sitting room and will hold ALL the candles and holders (once I have Kondo'ed them) This all brings me joy!Kondo'ed 76 items from wardrobe, 4 carrier bags of books0

Hi everyone, I've been lurking on this thread for a few days but feel the need to declare myself!
I've ordered the book from the library - but with the help of you guys and you tube I've made a start. My underwear drawer is now scarily organised plus one drawer of tops and jeans. I've pulled a few things from my hanging rail and sent them to a charity shop but I need to go through everything properly.
As I've been cooking dinner ive been eyeing my tea towels, so yes I'm officially obsessedweaving through the chaos...0 -
Hi all,
Have been reading this thread with some sceptism (sp), but your winning me over...
I,ve paid for my kindle edition through the money I earnt sending books to them and looking forward to reading it.
We,re just about to enbark on a major game of bedroom tetris in our house, hubby has built a bedroom and ensuite in our loft for us to move into, which should be ready within next 10 days, so will move all our stuff from current bedroom and give me a chance to practise my new skills on all of my clothes
The next thing will be a new kitchen - so same will apply there, then DD moves to our current bedroom - I will need to suggest method to her (18 and knows it all), then DS 2 will move to her old room, leaving his room 'free' to become guest room and hobby room - hoping hubby will have caught on by then and sort his airfix collection......
As for toxic friends - if they don,t spark joyNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

There is a nice casserole bubbling away so I can put my feet up for a while and maybe look at more folding websites.
I am well and truly hooked..
Now Ive always liked the results of decluttering and always found it very therapeutic but who would have thought that folding and organising could be such fun.
I'm sure there are people out there who think we are nuts but just think once we have finished and we have neat, tidy and organised houses how easy they will be to maintain.
When summer comes I shall be out on my sun lounger - I need to buy one first of course - sipping iced teas (ok make that a gin and tonic), painting my toenails and reading to my hearts content.
After the traumas of last year - husband died in August - I intend to make the most of this summer. Just hope we have plenty of sunshine.
Sorry to read about your loss.
I'm loving your positivity about the coming summer. I'm hoping once I get round to kondoing the shed I'll have room to store a sunlounger this year and I'll join you in that g&t.0 -
As her aim is to discard as much as possible and not stockpile, there are some tensions with frugality and saving money - although I'm sure money is saved in the long run by only buying things that "spark joy." And I'm not going to say "thank you for making me beautiful" to my lipstick but those who believe in God could thank him for his blessings or we could simply take a moment to reflect on how grateful we are for the possessions we do have.
I had the same problem with the book to begin with, so that is why I aim to make money on what I throw out i.e. Cash4Clothes - Ebay for DVD's, CD's, Books and Toys. But I do think it is time to start taking a serious look at what I have accumulated.
From a spiritual perspective as a Christian I totally agree with your comment and have thanked God rather than the objects for the joy and memories had with the items, but if you really look at what this project is about there is a Christian teaching behind it Matthew 19:21 for example.
I do believe that this method has strong spiritual principles and benefits across all religions as well as the physical aspect of it. I also believe that purging in the way described in the book has a lot of healing benefits too. I find it interesting that once the processions are dealt with many people have looked at other areas of their life and have used the same principles to empower.- MSE Forum Achievements:

Hi Ladies
I have become a Konvert and would love to join you all.
I love the Hoarders thread and also the Fly Ladies but felt that there was something missing...
Now I have found it.
Since starting my decluttering by the Kondo method, I have managed to empty a full cupboard in the wardrobe.
I have always done regular clear outs of wardrobes and drawers and I actually have fewer clothes than OH. Now since discovering the really clever idea of stacking vertically, I have so much more room - who would have thought!!!! Plus I have found clothes that were lost at the bottom of the drawer.
The boot of my car is filling up nicely with bags of clothes to take to the charity bins.
I have just been doing a bit at a time during the evenings. My son's drawers are now so organised that I even took a photo.
Thank you all!!!De cluttering Konvert.Getting there
