Last night I learned to samosa carrier bags and it made me happy
Tonight I un-samosa'd them and filled them with books :rotfl:
Real progress here tonight; DD has gone through her books, CDs and DVDs, we have another 4 boxes for Zapper, she has 3 carriers of books to go to a friend's kids, and maybe another 6 bags for the chazzer
Do people still want videos does anyone know? We have lots
I'm starting to think about which bits of furniture could go
I saw someone trying to give videos away for free at a car boot last year, and she couldn't get rid of any of them. On the other hand, a lot of charity shops do stock them, so maybe there is still a call for themThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. I found that a cardigan which passed the joy test for Kondo pass 1 last week, when tried on for work this morning made me look like a very unjoyful shapeless blob - so now it's been thanked and liberated to the charity shop bag at the back door, to become someone else's bit of joy. I suspect that there may be further items which I haven't worn for a while which will fail the joy test when actually worn, as opposed to simply being held and looked at.
Life is very much easier in my kondo'd kitchen. Everything has a place, and I can see what supplies I have, and what if any space I have spare for e.g. bulk purchasing regular items which are on offer.
The fact that I'm not struggling to put things away is so much better for energy levels and morale. I had two wide necked Thermos flasks (how? why?), and did an exercise to see which held a Goldilocks portion of soup - then sent the other one joyfully on its way.
I have quite a few unwatched dvd's, so will have a film night every so often and send all the 'oncers' on their way. I had also accumulated quite a few paperbacks and never got round to reading them. So I'm enjoying the impetus to kondo by watching dvd's and reading books! My relaxation time is much improved! Thank you KM.:T:T0 -

Getting rid of DVD's might be one thing that hubby is not keen on....he likes to keep them "just in case" and I am always on at him to get rid of them. I am all for keeping ones we watch, but he has some that are still in their wrapper and he won't budge on getting rid of them. Might have to get him to read the book as well:rotfl:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I just had to share this video with you.
I couldn't watch after 27 seconds, I was laughing so hard. It seems Mr Grey is a KonMarie fanValue-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Hope is not a strategy...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

I haven't and won't bother reading the book but the past few weeks has seen me clearing and folding in earnest. Several large pieces of furniture have been sold on and ask the CD/DVD/books that could, have been sold or exchanged for vouchers.
The result of all this has been a godsend when on Saturday night one of our moggies came home with some serious injuries. The extra money has come in very handy towards the astronomical vets bills and when I needed to create an enclosed small safe place for him to come home to, I could as there was room to move and everything was to hand. He's coming to terms brilliantly with the loss of a leg and I can spend lots of time cuddling him as the house is in such good order."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. I have tealights in their original wrapper in the drawer, what a good idea to put them in some sort of tidy storage system.
My mum uses those sachets with washing liquid already in them (don't know what they're called) & I got a few empty boxes from her and now use 1 for tealights, 1 for cloths, & 1 for those compost bags.
The boxes have nice secure lids so I can store them under the sink - everything picks up a residual scent too
*** sorry to hear about your cat - great that he's managing so well though ***0 -
Poor old moggie Pooky. Hope he recovers soon. Did you see the story about the cat that was hit by a car, and buried because it was thought to be dead......reappeared 5 days later:eek: Reckon its used up a few of its 9 lives!
Working at home day tomorrow and I intend to get kondoing - hopefully I will have enough energy tonight to make a start - going to make inroads into paper mountains - I now I stated on books and havent finished there but I need to find some documents so I may as well kondo at the same time:)
Plastic bags: I have posted a couple of times about the effects of having to pay for 'single use' carrier bags..........you lot who samosa in the land of the free bag will be surprised come October.......you will definitely resent paying for them and start to use shoppers more - I rarely see anyone in supermarkets now with single use bags.Certainly makes environmental sense if nothing else to reduce the use of these short lived bags - I dont see as many littering the lanes and hedgrows around here now.........We also have to pay for carrier bags from takeaways and all non food outlets too.....I did hear a rumour that this wasnt going to be extended to England and that it would be supermarkets only???
