Hi
You have been through so much, and are now doing brilliantly - well done on tackling everything, rather than burying your head in the sand, as we are all guilty of!to the dentist bill, but if you hadn't been so good this month, you would have been in a worse situation
Hope you enjoyed your day off yesterdayMake £10 a day 2024

Hi Hollie Hobbie
Thanks for your words of encouragement - i didnt look at it like thati hate paying dental fees. Dentists baffle me. My DD1 wasnt happy with her teeth and she got referred to NHS orthodontist who suggested jaw surgery, teeth extraction, braces - such a traumatic thing to go through and my DD1 (who is gorgeous but has a few crooked teeth that i dont even notice) said no.
We go dentist last week and they are offering her a brace privately at a cost of £2700!!!!
no mention of jaw surgery ! she has been going to the same dental practice since a baby !! I really am shocked by this
I have been through a lot over the years more than you know and that i put on here tbh. Instead of burying head ive surfaced so to speak - and there are times i wish i could put head under the duvet and ignore everything but i cant.. i have to sort it for my own peace of mind.
So how are you getting on if you dont mind me asking?0 -
PS Hollie Hobbie: i cleaned on my day off
couldnt call it enjoyable ... but rewarding hehe

Hi
OMG to the jaw surgery :-o I guess that's the problem with dentists - we don't know if their recommendations are what is best for you, or what is best for their wallets!
You sound to be in a much better place now, and sound like you are determined to get this sorted.
I have been through a lot over the years too, but I do think that these things do make us better people. I hope so anyway
I notice that you have signed up to the losing weight - hope you don't mind if I stalk you, and join you over there, as I need to lose weight, which goes up instead of down when I dietwell kid myself that I am dieting

Hollie Hobbie: you hit the nail on the head regarding dentists! I dont know whether im brave enough to question them... i have done previously over a bill they asked me pay months down the line !....and it was totally awkward - I won btw
I hope im becoming a better person. When i look back at some of the stupid decisions ive made i feel guilty/stupid. Yeah ive recognised that we all make mistakes and im not beating myself up too much but i think this journey now is really quite a personal challenge and sometimes i think "how on earth am i gonna do this" .... especially meeting the £5 a day challenge lol :rotfl:
Im sorry that you have been through tough times as well and i wish you well
haha ... just seen that you have joined ... the more the merrier! it seems a really friendly forum tbh ..... see you there!0 -
Well done on challenging them! I am a lot braver than I used to be with challenging shops etc, and taking back faulty goods. Just still bad at leaving them for 3 months in the car before I get round to it
I think everyone here will feel guilty or stupid for some of the decisions we made. I think a lot of my mistakes were just sailing along, not knowing how to budget etc, and thinking its not a problem, everyone has debts, so it's acceptable.
But at the end of the day we didn't kill anyone, just were naïve.
Thank you
Thank you - can't wait to get this weight shiftedMake £10 a day 2024
