Taking control

  • Thanks for the support Parsnip and Bop - its good to share and get my emotions off my chest so to speak :j

    Well I sold so far 1 ebay item but the buyer hasnt transferred yet (think I've made about £7.00) and I have had a bid on another item so far for about £5.00.

    Its hard paying off debt and trying to lead a "normal" life - it's what I'm struggling with I think.

    Nite all x
  • I'm not making this up...

    My DH went to work this morning and opened up his work's van and his tools had been stolen! They must have come back when they tried to get into DD's car last week. The thieves broke into a neighbours car and also a car round the corner!! This has meant now that DH hasnt got a work's van as his company is a bit twitchy of leaving it here.

    That's the first. The second issue is

    I rang the vet's for the 2nd urine result which I dropped off a week ago, and rang last week to be told that "it wasnt up yet". Anyway I rang again today, waited on the phone for what seemed ages to be told "inconclusive".... now to me that means they haven't done it as no one rang me to say a week ago it was inconclusive and a further sample required :mad: It's not easy getting a urine sample from a cat and Ive had to take time of work to do so in the past so I gave a piece of my mind :o

    Thirdly...

    Ive upset an eb*yer. A bid was won 2 days ago. I have a few personal issues going on at the moment and I have removed my items for sale. I contacted the eb*yer who won the bid to say i have an issue and no longer wish to sell (she hadn't yet paid) and the aggressive tone of emails I got back shocked me. I apologised for the confusion (she thought the issue was with the item) and explained that I'm happy to send it to her as she did win the bid after all but the issue was a personal one and then I apologised for upsetting her .... to be fair I can understand why she would be peeved when she won the bid but I dont understand why the aggressive tone in a message.

    Anyway personal issues aside, I'll await payment and then send the item. Just hope the matter is settled then.

    I said I'm going to be positive in this diary... so I'm going to have a lovely relaxing bath and hopefully early night. I must remind myself I have a lot to be grateful for.
  • I gave up on selling on eBay, people are so unreasonable. Don't let the idiots grind you down

    Sorry about this run of back luck, at least it's getting it out of the way early in the year :cool:

  • thanks BOP - I like your positivity :)

    My week has been rubbish- a few other cars in the area have been "hit" so to speak and again my DD's car has had an attempt again to break in. The police have visited the neighbourhood to reassure everyone of their presence but that doesnt stop you wondering whether you are going to wake up to your car being stolen - but I suppose there is only so much control you can have - as long as we are all healthy that's the main thing.

    i seem to have gone into some sort of meltdown... housework - i think ive forgotten how to do it and work in general although busy, I couldn't wait for 5pm last night to come home as I was so fed up! I didnt do a thing except watch programmes. I hate it when i get like this so need to shake myself up!

    I've had a few NSDs but there has been yet another collection in work. My new credit report on MSE credit club has shown a few surprises so need to sort that out this weekend i also need to book car in for MOT for the end of the month. Not yet received payment from eb*yer :p

    I'm still introducing new healthy foods (but still eating bad ones as well) and this week i tried chia seeds - i just sprinkled them over my salad. Not had red meat for ages. i still struggle to drink more water and exercise.

    Energy is low but this weekend i hope to

    * finish laundry
    * shop (and save money)
    * housework - actually need more then a weekend :rotfl:
    * sort mbn* paperwork
    * sort credit score paperwork
    * try a new receipe
    * do some knitting.

    Hope everyone enjoys their weekend :)
  • I sometimes get in these funks too where I can't be bothered. I have to really force myself. It'll pass.

    And yes, cars are mere objects, but I would find the worry stressful too.:(

    Get your list done and you'll feel much better :)

  • Thanks Paws - I really appreciate your comments :)

    I did achieve most of my list except for the knitting :D

    I am praying things improve as when I'm stressed I take it out on the wrong people and then I look stupid and hate the way I react and I have noticed that I am beginning to struggle again :o

    On a positive I have completed an action that was not on my list... I have created a basic spreadsheet (with the help of my DD). I normally write a budget for a month of what goes out and then hope for the best with what is left - but this looks great and I hope will help me focus more in staying on track with debts and life!

    I also have an itemised sheet of creditors, what I owe, when I pay and the balance outstanding. Its not nice viewing and I feel totally guilty and ashamed that I owe so much.

    I cant wait to sell the house and get rid of the debt.
  • My DD1 has gone on her first official trip abroad with work - I'm so proud of her :j Cant stop the worry though ;)

    I'm feeling a lot more positive today - think its because ive posted off my income and expenditure sheet so its a job done and also the eb*yer paid finally and i've posted the item off. You will not believe how many emails she sent me... even ones that say "did you get my message"!!!:eek: Errr.... some of us have to work and cant check the latest message on eb*y..... just hope she is happy with the item (instinct is ... nah she wont be or it doesnt arrive or something like that)!

    I've caught up on all diaries ive subscribed too and DD2 treated us tonight to a pizza delivery so no cooking :j
  • You must be very proud of your daughters :heart:

    Your buyer sounds high-maintenance, well done on getting the item sent, hopefully you won't have to think of her again. There's nothing like getting jobs ticked off for increasing positivity.

    I am paws :)

    Well Storm Doris has hit my roof - the ridge tiles have blown down and luckily landed on the flat roof and not a car! DH has roofers coming tomorrow for a quote - no emergency fund but to be fair, with all the emergencies the last few months there would be nothing in it anyway!

    If its not one thing its another!

    Storm Doris also meant my DD cant fly home from Germany till tomorrow - shes not too bothered as shes in a swanky hotel (her words) and will shop tomorrow - lucky girl

    Ive got my MOT tomorrow on the car hopefully it will not be too expensive.

    Roll on pay day!
