Thanks Boxofpaws - yes I joined in the week ... doesn't look good
My credit score has been damaged badly over the years and I'm still feeling the bruises! But onwards and upwards.....
Health
I've had an awful week in that I ate a lot of junk - lots of birthdays in January so lots of cake in the office ... I just can't say no!
I'm doing well with breakfasts and lunches and dinners aren't too bad its just the snacks.. and I'm not usually this bad.. I have been tired this week .. all the rubbish foods probably didnt help either!
This week I've introduced a packet from J*hn West with lentils and salmon and harissa sauce that I use to liven up my salad and also walnuts. I've bought a yoga mat with a voucher from T*sco... hope its gonna be the best £5 spent this year :rotfl:
Finance
Only managed to save 98p off shopping this week - I've rounded it up to a £1 and will put away.
I've budgeted for February. It's not as bad as I thought with a little bit of jiggying and tightening of the belt. The oven we got in the sale and DH bought it with his overtime (we were hoping to put that away but the best laid plans and all that!).
I have nearly finished paying another debt - was hoping to finish paying it the end of January but with the emergencies I wasnt sure but now - I'm debating using the money I've saved from the shopping and then finish it - but the savings I've made are going towards the celebrations - my head and heart is saying finish paying the debt back - decision made! I'll update once I have achieved it
next week.
On another note, my cat is being strange. She doesnt like going outside now (probs too cold) so we bought a litter tray... she has been using it for a couple of weeks now... anyway she is sitting on clothes as if she wants to urinate, and I've caught her in the sink but managed to get her before she did anything.. btw she is going out as well... she has just come upstairs and i thought she is quiet...she has just done a few drops of urine where I store my toilet rolls etc .... i hope its not a trip to the vet .. not sure what to do really??0 -
I've just been googling... I'm thinking she may have a UTI... I will have to book appt in the morning for the vets.0
-
The visit to the vets currently stands at £128.08. The vet thinks it may be cystitis so she is on tablets for that, and an anti-inflammatory syringe I have to give her plus i need to take a sample of urine in to see if she has crystals. I've also got eye cream as she has infection and she also had 2 injections. This is the best case scenario - worst case is she has a mass. But he listened to her chest which was clear and said everything felt okay so hopefully its just an inflammation.
We go back in 2 weeks for check up.
She threw up in the car going there twice and threw up on the journey home once.... I feel so sorry for her
I got really emotional at the vets (kept it in) but my cat was crying all the way there and in the vets, there was a boxer shaking like a leaf and a teenager was nearly on the brink of tears. I love animals but they do pull at the heart strings - I feel quite drained tbh.0 -
It's pay day for me tomorrow. I am definately going to use the savings made from shopping (and a bit extra) to add to the usual instalment I pay and clear the balance outstanding that I owe to a family member. I'm embarassed it has taken quite a few years to pay it off and tomorrow it will be gone.
My first debt of the New Year paid in full
The loan I finished last year was supposed to be used to roll on to another debt - it didn't - it got used in the day to day stuff and towards Xmas. However, this year my plan is that it is to go off debt. But with the recent emergencies we have had (boiler/tank, electrician, oven, vet) I will put the £120 that I used to pay for the loan towards the vet bill and top up the difference. That's my contribution to the oven and electrician sorted if you look at it another way as I'm not asking DH for anything for the vet bill.
Next month I should have extra the £120 plus an extra £50 to go towards the next debt/debts I want to bust this year. I'm beginning to feel a buzz of excitement that progress is being made and now I want to go faster in clearing this stupid mess of debt I've got.0 -
Yes I paid the family member back :j
Vet rang today. There are crystals in my cat's urine so it means I need to do another urine sample around 6th Feb (it took me 2 days to get this one haha) and if they are still there after all the antibiotics have finished then I need to change her diet. I only need to attend if the eye infection recurs or obviously if she has any problems with her urination. I just hope its smooth from now on and she recovers with no problems after the antibiotics are finished. My cat must avoid stress... now this is quite funny really as she is the least stressed member in our household :rotfl: She rules the house :rotfl: But I understand totally what he means
I took time off work to look after her and I know I'm going in tomorrow to a lot of work - I'll embrace it
My account looks nice - the dd dont come out until Monday so it wont last like that - if only:rotfl:0 -
Aw poor little kitten, I hope she's feeling better soon. And that there are no further dents in your purse! I took my wee girl to have most of her teeth out earlier this year and she has been so much happier since that it made me feel incredibly guilty I didn't do it sooner!
I do like the bank account just before the DDs come outDebt Jan 2017 = £42kMay 2022 = £15k0 -
Thanks Boxofpaws - she is feeling better - its a nightmare trying to get the cream in her eye though!
I need to stop worrying about "what if" with her as its driving me crazy. I have no pet insurance and no chance now of getting any. I will have to cross that bridge but hopefully there wont be a need too.
I have been awake since 4.10am
Initially the cat woke me. Then DH up at 5.00am who disturbs the whole house and has no regard for anyone else.. I'm so mad and fed up of saying the same thing.. he's in the house, then out the house, then in the house, then out the house, boots cloddiing on wooden floor, sometimes he leaves mud....:mad: I just lost it this morning or is it night time..... :rotfl:
Then DD1 was up... not in the best of moods either. She has the opportunity to go to Germany beginning of Feb with work. She is so excited and I am over the moon for her but I just can't get over the "what ifs"... I'm stupid I know it
I popped the shops yesterday:-
* £40 on food
* £10 birthday present
* Work clothes - £35 (reduced in the sale)
* Underwear - £65  - bras are so expensive and I hate buying them but when I do, I need quality ones.
My alarm is going to go off now - hope i can get through the day without yawning in work.
I've had 3 days off and I feel like I need another 3!0 -
I've had a lovely lie in .. just what I needed. Anxiety levels are now reduced.
I've a fairly busy weekend planned (apart from the usual chores which will take me all the weekend :rotfl:) I'm getting hair cut and coloured (my niece is a hairdresser but I still have to pay her at mates rates but it is still less expensive than going hairdressers) - grey will be gone!!
DD1 suggested a movie night tonight with a bottle of wine (from Xmas supplies) - I'm looking forward to it - DD2 will be working and DH may join in if there's nothing better on TV (footy)!
I have the last of my coursework to complete (will do that tomorrow).
I'm planning on doing a car booty hopefully around Easter... will be doing it with my niece and today we are making a plan on how operation car booty will go forward
I don't think I've tried anything new health wise to eat but I'm still eating the new introductions to the diet. I'm also still eating the BAD foods! I think with all the post Xmas goodies in the office now gone and also at home, I can concentrate on shifting the excess weight... I want to look good for my "special birthday".
Hopefully will try and fit in some knitting over the weekend as well.
Happy Chinese New Year .... I'm a goat.
* I should have a good year in 2017 work wise.
* I will also be strapped for cash in 2017 and need to control my budget.
* I'm going to be popular in 2017 with the opposite sex  but need to be aware not to make unsuitable friends. Oh I'm married so I need to keep a moderate distance when communicating with the opposite sex to avoid misunderstandings (read the single goat first :rotfl:)
* I will have good physical health but need to pay attention to mental health and need to rest more.
* I need to communicate with an open heart, and pray, and visit temples for blessings
Wow... so me x0 -
I've finished my apprenticeship :j It's all handed in ready for grading.
I think it is hard working full-time, studying, and running a house/family etc but I'm glad its done now. I was thinking of doing another course in the summer but tbh i'm questioning myself really... is it something I really want to put myself through? we'll see..
I've yet another work celebration to donate too next week. I received vouchers from T*sco today so may use them for a present for her or use them for Petrol and money saved on petrol buy a present. Depends on what I see. Or I could use them on food .. decisions :rotfl:
I had NSDs all week apart from Friday - I needed to buy lunch and then got offered a free one so could have saved my money after all
I had a bad night last night - (DD2 went out and left her key so she got me up at 2.30am followed by the cat very early) - Being up early meant I caught up on one of my guilty pleasures - trashy TV
I put washing on and started to sort out the spare room so have put few items towards the car booty. I'm not sure whether a car booty or eb*y will be the better option or whether taking everything to be weighed in is the way to go?
I then started using up paint I have in and have started putting the first undercoat on. I then slept 3 hours this pm  What a waste of an afternoon - obviously needed it!
We have started the ball rolling towards selling the house. Had the house valued - very pleased but whether it will sell at the valuation is another matter as I feel there are lots of issues with the house and wonder if she over valued it.
I need to book car in for mot at the end of the month, pay £30+ for a ticket for a work's function and deposit at a restaurant for my DD2 21st.
I havent managed to save anything off the shopping last week hopefully may do this week and it can be put towards the above.
I'm making progress on my knitting and tonight DD1 is cooking the tea (frozen oven chips and fishcake ) with a bottle of red to be shared -
Sunday will be spent visiting niece, shopping, cooking and cleaning, painting and hopefully knitting
Enjoying the weekend !0 -
Hi takingcontrol.
You obviously needed the sleep so not an afternoon wasted.
I dont watch tv much, but my trashy secret is hoarders. I find it facinating, if not alittle sad.
Have a good rest of the weekend.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%
