Meal planning is fun, I really enjoy doing it. It's nice that your mum is so supportive and such a load off your shoulders, a relief I should think, my mum knows everything about me, well almost, because I am a rubbish liar lol :)

  • Happy New week :)

Thanks for the comments guys. Today hasn't started as planned as I am working from home due to DS being poorly still, it's been coming on for a while, just cold related (chest infection, temp etc) so Doc gave him antobiotics. He's on the sofa now watching a dvd - am sure he will start picking up soon.

I've got plenty done for the day job this morning - lots of politics going on there. I won't miss that when I win the lottery and can leave ;)

I have £63 earnt from Job 2 for Jan so £48 of that is allocated to 1/2 pony and anything remaining will go to overpayments. Fingers crossed that goes up quite a bit before end Jan.

Pay day is Friday - thank god! No spends on food this week now I have the stuff for the above meal plan. It only cost me £26 ish.

We are on target for Dec 2016 still. Happy Monday :)

  • Hope DS is feeling better soon x
  • Morning diary landers.

Thank you SS - he's getting there.

Well, horsey points out of the way first. Last night I rode the big girl, just flat work. She was going nicely and we'd not done anything too strenuous etc, just basic schooling and then I was walking her off when she went down on her front legs. I couldn't say if she stumbled, tripped, it all happened so quick. Her back leg went a touch as she obvsiously didn't expect it either. I leant back (praying) and she got back up. Felt like a camel ride. I walked her a few paces ridden then jumped off and walked in hand. She seemed fine but I have to say it shocked me. If we were cantering she would have tumbled. I'm supposed to be doing the clear again on Wed and not sure I dare now. I know it'll pass, feeling unnerved, but it's knocked me. I'm also worried that it is something underlying as she was denerved over a year ago (sound since) and is 17 now. She's fit as a fiddle and I've always seen her working in some form until she's 25 plus. I feel better now I've written it down. Oh and the pony was a s0d last night. Jumping at everything. Head like a giraffe and ignoring all aids he was given pretty much. Just as well he is gorgeous. I think I will get an older kid on him at the weekend to push him round a bit instead of vice versa which is happening now.

Roll on my own place where they can get out every day!

Work wise, hoping for a bit of work tonight. Pay day a day closer now so I best check my accounts.

  • Oh, what a worry :( Were you still in the school or outside - could it have been an icy patch? Fingers crossed it was just one of those things.
  • Money wise. The big cheque has cashed that I was waiting for meaning I have £30 left in the bank (which I didn't even expect) and another chq is still waiting to cash. That's the farrier one which is £80 amd he said it'll be late this week. I don't get paid til Friday so there's a risk of it bouncing which is simply NOT allowed! I have left that life behind me. So now I need to get some money into my bank. I have been paid £40 cash to pass over to a friend, which I have in my purse but not til next week, so will use that plus can find £10 elsewhere so I guess now I need to put it into the bank somehow. The bank is in town and I hate going there. I will grin and bear it and go after school tomorrow. Then I will put everything back to where it should be on Friday!

    Ok sorted.

  • Just had a call, she went back over this morning. They said she may have slipped - too coincidental for me. I feel sick. Going over there.

  • I'm back. The good news is , if I didn't know it had happened, I would be none the wiser. The bad news is she went right down today. The only saving grace is she went on her side whereas last night she just went top to bottom and onto her knees if you know what I mean? So this morning would appear to be a slip from rushing into stable (she does occacionally, fear of thresholds since we had her) and her legs went one way and her body the other. To me, that's more of a slip fall than a collapse fall. She looks happy and is busy eating her bed which I've made right up for her for comfort.

Other factors potentially the cold, arthritis kicking in due to it? Long stretch but possible.
I'm giving Wed jumping a miss and won't be riding tonight. I will try to turn her in school when it's quiet tomorrow and maybe lunge rather than risk riding.

If she does it again, I shall call the vet immediately, or is she shows any other symptoms. Nothing yet, no heat, no swelling, no appetite or personality change. Ideas welcome :)
