    Xmas Saver!
Massive apologies for being absent - just playing catch up, to be honest this absess situ just knocked me for 6.

On the absess front, have to have it packed and dressed daily, been between the hospital and the GP surgery, I had a call Tuesday to go back to clinic on Wed, - apparently i have picked up 3 strains of bacteria, how they dont know, but as I can't have pencillain, threw things up in the air there was talk of me having an Iv antibiotic, one look at my arms and they decided on oral mediciation.

Back again today, touch wood everything is healing as it should be, told i'll have a big scar, but at the end of the day never been a page 3 model..... I go again next Friday then if all going ok, be referred to another department for a mammogram among other tests...

Visit no 2, was check up with dad, - touch wood all ok, he goes back in 6 mths to the stoma nurse...

Visit no 3.... Miss Hoodie - she bashed her toes into the arth of the fire, and has fractured a bone in her little toe, theyve strapped it to the next toe and she has a lovely shoe to war for 3 weeks...... he street cred has just shrunk....

Grandad Hoodie going on ok, hes on chemo no 7, and his weight still increasing, he's put on 4 lbs this last 3 week period. He enjoys the hospice it gets him out of the house he said he feels guilty as theres people worse off, and he seems to going on ok, he enjoys the interaction as it quiz or something else on the afternoon, give me chance to do the shopping in peace - got it down to a T now.... xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Apologies for the delay in the Challenge - here goes.

    Santas Challenge February

    Mothers Day
The next event is Mothers Day, earlier this yr, March 15th. As usual shops will be bursting with all the goodies, - also worth popping in on the Monday onwards as left over stock gets reduced, - so there may be some goodies that can be used for Bday or xmas presents...

    Mediciation
Theres mediciation that may be used every day or others once in a blue moon, check the mediciation that you have at home.

    Two other parts...

1st - repeat pescription, - at my surgery I can get a copy of all my presciptions from the reception, (mines 5 pages long) whilst this is handy to keep at home, its a bit impratical to carry around.

    hence - Part 2...
Copy out the items as well as the dosage and keep a copy in your purse, wallet, handbag - generally the 1st question at hospital / doctors / clinic / over the counter mediciation - you can just open the purse and theres a full list, saves worrying about have I forgotten one.

    Survey / Money
Hopefully Jans intentions of adding a new survey / clicks / review sites is going along nicely, if you want to consider adding a new one into the mix and see how you get one.

    Passwords
Apparently the average person uses 6 passwords for all the online sites / banking etc .... With all the security scares, the question to ask ourselves is when was the last time I changed my passwords....

    Birthday and Christmas
Do a recap of presents brought, and how the lists are coming on, look at cards, do i need any cards for March and April and presents - you can keep them handy.

    Easter Eggs
Its that time where supermarkets are stocking Eggs in every spare inch, there seems to be different offers arising, so if you do need eggs - keep a eye out for the best offers.

    Miss Hoodies corner
That special part of the challenge, Miss Hoodie's corner.... as its coming up time for Spring Cleaning, - Miss Hoodie has suggested looking at kitchen cupboards - whether that is the big sort out, or just a tidy up. Ask yourself do you really need/ what that item....

    Recipie challenge
The me part of Santas challenge is to cook something you have never done before, whether its a pin in the cookery book / choose a random number / odd ingredients - all part of the fun.

As always treat it as a pick and mix and take care xxxx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • Thanks for the challenges mum2one I hope all the healthier problems ease soon and things get back to as normal as they can for you.

    Hope everyone else is well.

Please could I ask if you would mind voting for my daughter who has got in the Top 50 of the L'Oreal The Brush contest. The Top 5 from the public vote get an approx. £2,500 make up kit and a winner picked to represent UK, who will then be up against other countries in Paris for the major prize.

You don't need to identify yourself to vote, you just have to watch the video unfortunately and a "VOTE" button should appear bottom right so just one click of a button.

It does seem to be one vote per IP address so other members of a household cannot vote from different devices.

    Morning all
Hugs, get well wishes and coping vibes to all who need them
Happy Mother's Day to all celebrating and supporting hugs to anyone who finds today difficult.

Sorry Angela I missed your question about my cross stitch, it's a Lizzie Kate design. It says
One hundred years from now it will not matter what kind of car I drove what kind of house I lived in how much I had in my bank account nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a better place because I was important in the life of a child.
I've finished the first retirement gift one apart from the personalisation and have started another for a teacher rinds 50th birthday. I can't post a picture on mse for some reason but if managed to but one on the Flickr feed for the 15 in 15 in memory of soulie thread.
Don't forget tomorrow Sains will RT. All their Mother's Day stuff so bargains can be had for next year.

    Hi all

My laptop broke last week so have finally managed to return after ex mended it for me today. I tried using my phone but it was impossible to post as my password was really hard to enter and shortly after it went through it disappeared again.

It was a stressful time as the tv seemed to go strange too and so did my mobile which I tried using as a laptop substitute - after adding FB updates I couldn't even write a text as the phone seemed to go exceedingly slow so had to remove updates and miraculously it improved.

This evening I'm going to write down as many of my bookmarks as possible in case of more problems in future as I have hundreds of them and have automatic log ins so lost them all when the computer crashed.

    Hello again

Susan, I looked through all your photos - wow - the village is spectacular - what is the make of the houses?

How are you bearing up with the constant work being done on your home?

Mum2one, I think you could write a long standing serial with the amount of medical incidents in your family, you must be a very patient lady to put up with it all.

What cakes did Miss Hoodie make for you?

When I read about the latch hook kit in a previous post I wondered if you were giving it as as a kit for your mother to make herself.

I had an unexpected call from DS1 as he's been in Germany the past month and was back in London for this weekend, and DS2 arrived with his support worker with presents for me and we had a nice afternoon. then ex turned up too and mended the laptop.

Mrs M - what a fantastic cross stitch design you are making - that's a really emotional message.

Santa challenge - you're going to laugh but I was going to ask you who Jan was - until I just re-read the post and realised that you meant January lol I thought that someone had gone onto the surveys post at the beginning of the thread and added some names lol

I've got dad's birthday on Thursday, not sure what to get at the moment as original idea has been changed.

DS2 arriving Thursday for weekend too.
