If you are quick, you might still be able to swing 2 TSB Plus accounts in your own name - that would save you from needing a Barclays acct, and pays you 5% AER. They definitely won't allow this from the end of the month and shouldn't really now, but people seem to still manage to get two.
I can confirm that they are still allowing people to open 2 of these accounts even if they did not have a single one before the October deadline.
I opened my first on Thursday night and didnt bother trying to open a second because of what I read on here previously but after reading your post in this thread I had a stab at another just a few minutes ago and hey presto i've now got two.0
