Then the PAC will have expired and the contract will continue until you repeat the process.0

I wasn't referring to calender days of the PAC validity, was reffering to the last calender month of billing of minimum term.0

I appreciate the advice but that seems like it could get messy cutting it that finely as the port only takes up to 24 hours to occur.
Even if I port out on the 30th day that's still within the contract period.
I'm probably better off waiting until day 31 when i'm free of it to avoid any unpleasantness.
I appreciate you don't want to pay extra but number porting can (and does) go wrong. If you value the number do not leave it to the last few days, do it at least 7 days before the code expires and pay the difference.0

As long as you use the PAC within your last month and not before you shouldn't be charged any extra.
at worst, you may have to pay for the full month but only get part of the months services.
but sometimes networks will refund part of the month that you cant use.
i wouldn't leave it to the last minute thou, as things can go wrong and get delayed, which could incure another months charge0

I'll ask them about this, but it's not what Vodafone have told me.
You know what guys, I'm going to give 30 days notice and get them to move my number to a PAYG sim, stick £5 on it and port out from there.
The alternatives are just too complicated.0

I'm in the same position & don't know best way to proceed. I called Vodafone today & asked to give 30 days notice & get a pac code. My plan ends 23 March, so actually 31 days time according to vodafone's own website. I was told there would be a charge for early termination. I said that I don't want to terminate early, but when the plan ends next month. I was told to call back in a month's time. Surely if I wait until then I will need to still give 30 days notice? Why do they make it so complicated & hard to leave? It only makes me more determined to get away!0

If you have the PAC use it a few days before the 23rd March. You will be charged until the 23rd.0

Thanks, but will I still not need to give 30 days notice to leave them? This is what I find confusing.0
-
No, it's either a notice or a PAC.
A notice terminates the contract unconditionally.
PAC terminates it only if used before expired. It lasts for 30 days.0
