Hugs Cuilean xxx my husband asked me to throw away opks as he was finding I was becoming rather err... Demanding on peak days which was making him feel pressured. I cried (which yes I quite agree was excessive)when he wasn't up for it on a key day once and I think he was starting to feel like a donor!!! It's so hard as there seems such a small window so you want to make most of it, but I don't want hubby to feel pressure too :(
Too late for croissants but how about hot chocolate?

    Hugs Maire xx

Cuilean, huge sympathies on that front. For us it's me really, I've never been a particularly sexual person and I've always viewed it as a chore rather than fun, so TTC doesn't help. In fact 5 out of the 6 we've dtd this month it's been his instigation. He's cut out caffeine and eating healthy to help, and I feel so guilty as sometimes I've said no to BD and I'm still having caffeine.

We've been a lot more relaxed this month. I've been doing cheapie opks and I think I've already OV, but really not sure tbh. We've agreed to dtd all the way up to a bfp or AF, as beforehand we were stoping straight when I suspected OV.

    Hugs to everyone

Thank you ladies - sympathy and support much appreciated. I was so miserable yesterday, and that was before DH invited the MIL over for dinner. Big hugs to all of you for getting me through it.

We did try BD one more time before bed, but without going into the gory details, that did not end well either. No BD on either peak day, and I'm now 1 DPO, so I'm not really very hopeful that we've been successful this month. Onwards to the next cycle then. I said to DH a few weeks back that I had a feeling about a March baby, and if we're successful next month, that's what we'd get.

Aileth, I'm not a massively sexual person either (And this whole process is not helping change my views on that ;) ) - I thought I was a bit of an unusual type for thinking that. Thank you for making me feel like I'm slightly less weird :rotfl:

Anyway, let's cheer up a bit. Here's a video from Buzzfeed called "Weird Things Couples Do To Get Pregnant" which we can probably all relate to. Except the end bit, which is a bit Disney, but we'll get there.

How stupid is it for me to POAS when I get home? It's Tesco own brand. AF is due tomorrow and no sign of her yet - I usually get metallic smelling cm (I'm not a knicker sniffer in case anyone is wondering, just have an excellent sense of smell!) and some spotting by now.

Someone talk me out of it.

I'm stressed with this already and it's only month 1! i've had some symptoms which suggest AF is coming, been off the pill 3 weeks, so whilst I secretly wanted to be one of those amazing people who got pregnant straight away, I now just want an AF so that I can start tracking probably :(

how do you all stay calm?!

Rambosmum, I'd go for it, it won't do any harm.

Cats2012, I stay calm because I've got to the point where I've realised symptom-spotting, tracking etc etc, doesn't do anything for me except for make me stress and freak out. I've gone from being giddy and excited to being ambivalent and shrugging!

Hmm this is a tricky one. I just quickly googled it and found this:

    • Getting employers to contribute more to the cost of statutory maternity pay – or as an alternative abolishing it entirely.

I'm guessing it would be workplace specific? I can't see it getting voted through in Parliament though.

  • Rambosmum, I'd try to hold off until tomorrow - fmu is likely to give you a better result, if you test now and see a faint line you're going to drive yourself crazy wondering if it's bfp or just an evaporation line. Depending on your alarm clock, it's only about 14 hours to get through - and most of those sleeping!

Niptuckfan, I saw that too and did worry, not least because scrapping smp massively undermines women and devalues the contribution families make to the economy. But it is only an option at this stage, not a definitive plan, and I just can't see it being implemented. The Tories only have a small majority and there'd be so much protest about scrapping a benefit we've had for years. Besides which, it doesn't dovetail with the shared parental leave that came in this year, or the childcare pledges in the manifesto (not that they'll necessarily be realised, mind). So I think it's probably safe. . .

Cats, my answer is I don't. . . That's why I'm so thankful for this thread! Am happy today because have seen ewcm at only CD9 - am really hoping it means the Clomid's done its job and I might actually ovulate this month - and at a normal time! Fingers crossed for you that AF either comes quick or stays away entirely :)
