    Michbright I'm with you.
I'm going to take a step away from the board too. I OV'd yesterday and it was another fertile period with no BD and I get so frustrated about it. OH is stressed at work at the moment and is always shattered or too stressed to BD at the right times so I think I'm going to try to relax about it all for the next few months and just do NTNP. If I don't keep tabs of my cycle days or do OPK's then I can't get all worked up when I know we should be BDing and we're not!
OH will go for it once he's feeling ready as he did when we conceived DS so I just need to wait until then and try to relax in the meantime.
Unfortunately that means leaving you girlies for a bit but I'll definitely pop in every now and then and keep an eye on any BFP's.
Wishing you all loads of luck and baby dust :)

Hi all, don’t post much as cant often get on the site, but like to follow as much as I can, that’s me been off pill for nearly 6 weeks had a one day bleed exactly 4 weeks ago so expecting period any day soon – if I was actually pregnant I would be shocked as I have kind of worked it up in my head that it would take a while or I might never conceive as I 35 and never tried before….have been surprised how different I have felt in the last month….noticeable change in CM and this week I have felt really moody/emotional so maybe the pill was masking that…was on it for 20 years, who knows…

something i wanted to ask are you doing anything to prepare for getting pregant i am following weight watchers to get a bit of weight off lost a half stone another half would get me fitting back in all my clothes so thats the plan, i also thinking of starting to stock pile household non perishable items...i live in country and will only get ssm so think that would help

I was on the pill for 13years and was so surprised when I came off how many hormonal symptoms I had.

I think I'm 4 days post OV, but I'm not sure. We DTD on Friday but not since and I've had a bit of "sh*t, am I ready for this moment?!" when we visited friends with a 1 year old over the weekend so haven't pushed for it.

OH is really ready for kids but I'm just not so sure, it's such a big commitment and I have to change my life so much. I had a bit of a freak out and so we've decided to NTNP for a bit to let my head adjust. We're also tempting fate by booking another long haul holiday for November :/

Michbright and Blueneleh I know how you feel - last month we decided not to try (Xmas baby reasons!) and it was lovely not to be POAS and SS and to just BD when the urge took us not because a calendar said so. Good look with NTNP - you never know without the stress of TTC it might be easier to actually conceive!

niptuckfan - I am doing slimming world - i have a few stone to shift so certainly cannot afford to put on weight during pregnancy and you can do SW whilst pregnant. Also taking folic acid.

Rambosmum - my OH is keener than me and persuaded me to start TTC, I do occasionally panic about whether I am ready, but ppl always say you can never prepare.

So we are following SMEP this month - positive OPK on Wed and BD Wed night and Thursday morning - OH is so keen he wants to BD again tonight, but I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing to do (sperm count wise) any thoughts?

Chickp, the drug you're thinking of is Norethisterone. Here's the page about it on the NHS: http://www.nhs.uk/Medicine-Guides/pages/MedicineOverview.aspx?condition=Delaying%20menstruation&medicine=Norethisterone
I'm going to play Devil's Advocate here - do you really want to mess with your cycle if you're TTC? I was on AF when I got married, and with a little bit of planning, I scheduled myself breaks and found some very unappealing underwear which would have prevented any unwanted appearances.
    snow_ball wrote: »

I would also second Cuilean's devil's advocate about norithisterone, I used it a couple of times (latest being 2hrs ago) and it took a couple of months or more before my cycle became anything like regular again.

Thanks guys. I've decided I can't put up with delaying ttc and waiting for things to get back to normal.

Cuilean - I'm already wearing some fairly unattractive 'nude', 'no vpl' underwear because I struggled to find anything that wouldn't show through my dress (it's not see-through but white did show through somehow). Have decided to wear some oh so sexy control tights to smooth out the lumps and bumps and may give me the feeling of more protection!

8DPO (possibly - my crosshairs are dashed and have had ewcm and a temp dip after supposed ov) and I'm having the worst skin breakout ever :( It's like being a teenager again - seriously considered not coming to work because my face is such a mess.

I almost want to go back on the pill just to clear it up, but it's a bit self defeating! I hope our future kids appreciate all the trials and tribulations we ttc-ers are going through to meet them :rotfl:

My skin went absolutely mad when I came off the pill, and then again when I had a mirena coil for my endo. In the end I had it taken out. Who wants to be 29 and spottier than when they were 19???

Anyway, I really found 'La Roche Posay effaclar duo' amazingly helpful. I use it day and night and my skin is the best it's ever been. It's not too cheap but not too expensive either. In my experience there is nothing that knocks your confidence as much as acne, so I don't mind paying for something that works.

I have continued to confuse myself by downloading the glow app. Now I have 3 different apps and 3 different fertile windows! Also I'm not sure if AF started on wed or thur depending on your definition of spotting. In light of this, OH and i have decided to attempt to BD every other night for as long as we can this month.

I feel that this will be doing all we can as I'm not happy about starting opks or temping yet.

We BD last night and are having tonight off :rotfl:

    Good luck everyone
  • Thanks chickp, will give that a try. My face is like the surface of the moon at the moment, so I'm keen to do anything I can!

Don't talk to me about apps, am so fed up of them all. Glow is still insisting I ovulated 3 weeks ago, despite no sign of AF or pregnancy. Ovia reckons I've already started the next cycle and FF has put its hands up and admitted it doesn't really know what dpo I am! Hoping opks next month will make it clearer, but not holding my breath.

Kellykins, thanks for the lists - was disappointed to see you back on CD2, hope all's ok. Big hugs x

Hugs too to michbright and blueneleh. Hope quitting the thread for a bit helps you destress - would be lovely to see an update though when you do get your bfps :)

Welcome roses! Hope you're not here for long (in the nicest possible way!)

Niptuckfan, I'm trying to sort my nutrition and general fitness out, but otherwise not planning for pregnancy at all - don't want to tempt fate. Refusing even to buy hpts until I'm a few days late! Ridiculous and superstitious, I know :o

Devildolly, I echo Cuilean - there could still be a chance, keeping everything crossed for you. Ditto MovingUp, hope you can get BDing ASAP!

Morning. So we managed to BD last night, so hopefully we are still in with a chance this month. Thanks for the support ladies.

Can I please be updated to 1DPO
    .

With you on the apps thing. I have FF and Ovia and they are both always a few days out so the fertile window is huge, but in the past for me at least Ovia has been spot on with timings in my last pregnancies.

Another endorsement for La Roche Posay creams, they are brill. I have always had bad skin and this was by far the best brand that has really helped calm my skin down. Usually buy these from boots with my points. I also just use BB cream now instead of foundation which also helps.

Blackribboner, hope you get some clarity soon. I know a 47 day cycle a few months back really threw me off, but that one seemed to reset everything and have been regular (with a day or two) since, so hopefully this is the case for you too.

Hope you all have a nice and relaxing bank holiday.

I think I might try the La Roche Posay creams - I have always had bad skin and can't seem to shift some spots on my cheeks. It's been getting worse these past few months. Feel like a teenager again!

DH and I managed to BD this morning. Ovia says that it is peak ovulation today. Fingers crossed with it being the long weekend we can have some time alone.

Hope everyone is feeling ok and positive. At least we have a long weekend to look forward to :)
