Official Trying to Conceive - Thread 12

Think I can join in now... my depo seems to have gone out of my system. I had a pretty pathetic AF on the 12th. Pre-depo, my AF was like clockwork on the 12th each month so good sign!
Officially TTC as of three days ago. We're not particularly super serious as chances are my cycle is pretty disrupted. I've been using the clear blue digital OPK every couple of days since the 14th and the last two days it's registered as high fertility, so I hope OV will be en-route soon if the test is correct and my hormones aren't lying to it.
I really don't know anything about all of this! I honestly didn't really know anything about OV or conception before this month, and I still feel so ignorant.0 -
Welcome Sunshine and Aileth!
Don't worry about not knowing everything aileth, we all have to start from somewhere :-) If you haven't done already, try and get yourself some pg vitamins. If you have a good relationship with your doctor, try and have a chat with them, as they will be able to provide advice :-)0 -
Sorry to hear about AF skaps xxx
Welcome to Sunshine and aileth! I hope your stays here are short. On the vitamin front I take Folic Acid, B6 complex and vitamin D - if anything the B6 gives me an energy boost so I can actually BD! :rotfl:
JoBatch you have got a very busy few months! Maybe the business will sneak in a BFP as we all know Mother Nature doesn't like us making plans!
4nnabella hope you've managed to squeeze a BD or five in
dotty I am impressed with you, although I demand you POAS in the next 24 hours! I am CD18 now, I definitely know I'm out this month as only got to BD on Saturday. OH is not helping at all, I feel like I have to beg him to BD. I don't understand!
Oh well, I've lost 4lbs this week so I'm happy
Hope everyone is okay! Our Rainbow Twins born 17th April 2016

I've been taking folic acid, I thought that was all I needed! Mortified!0

Can someone advise me, I've been reading so many different things about regularity of the BD, some say every day, some say multiple times a day, some say every two and some every three! It's really confusing. My hubby is very um enthusiastic and so far the longest without BD has been 24 hours, with majority being twice a day! Now normally I'd say his enthusiasms will damper over time, but he likes the BD quite a lot! Any solid advice I can show him? Then either he will have to cool it or I'll have to find the energy!0

Hi Newbies and Regulars.... bon voyage Blue Liners!
Aileth... I think every other day is the usual rule of thumb (or daily around ovulation time) but with some women having just an 8 hour ovulation window, then the more you do it the more you increase your chances of conceiving. Just don't wear yourself or your bits out and remember you should enjoy it too.
Well done on the weight loss lulu92 - a super effort.
So this is my first month of OPK testing. I got a 'squint and imagine it' line on Saturday, faint lines Sunday and Monday. Yesterday it was darker so OH made his way home from where he works away Mon-Fri to get an extra BD in. Today it's darker than yesterday but we can't BD until Friday evening now.
I've read and re-read the OPK instructions and they just say "ovulation is most likely 24-36 hours after the LH surge" and BD "is advised after the first positive". What's a surge? A strong positive or a first weak positive. Might tomorrow have an even stronger positive? It's still not as dark as the control line. What's the point in testing if I can't do anything active about it? Urgh. I'm getting het up about this after a stressful day at work.
I guess plonk me in the TWW queue... answers on a post card about my DPO number?!MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -
Lulu congratulations on the weight loss! That's fantastic! There will however be no stick peeing here.... because as I said, I don't FEEL pg... also I had a bit of a freak out last night about the possibility of having a two-faced baby (way to freak you all out, google Janus Cats, which are freaky, but kind of adorable in a weird way, and then understand that it happens in humans too.... it's rare, like there's been 2 reported cases ever... but hey, anxiety doesn't follow logic)
So yeah, not POAS in case I have a two faced baby... I'm weird, I know.
OH has decided that THIS is the week he wants to dtd every day.... thanks darling.... not relevant AT ALL. Bless him. But as I'm no longer having to beg him for BDing I'm hoping this shift in libido stays :-D
Aileth, I'm afraid I have no idea... I've read every other day, but then logically as much as possible seems to make sense... it's not like they can knock the baby dust back out... (I HOPE YOU ALL APPRECIATED ME USING THE PHRASE BABY DUST INSTEAD OF THE WORD I WANTED TO USE... It starts with a J.... we're all adults here :-D)
MRN, from what I understand of OPKs the surge in hormones is what they measure, so when you get your line, that's your surge - so if you had a super dark line yesterday, you could be OV today or tomorrow... so Friday BDing is totally within the realms of good... make sure you spend your weekend doing nothing else but BDing... not because it helps with TTC, just because it sounds like fun :-)0 -

Oh darn it all... why do I bother with Dr Google...
I've been feeling REALLY thirsty the last two days, like horrifically thirsty, nothing I drink is enough (and yet my bathroom usage has stayed constant... weird)
So I googled...
Turns out if you are PG your blood volume may need to increase, so an early sign to watch out for is increased thirst... now, given I have hypovolumia (lower than usual amount of blood) quite badly...
darn it all
I may POAS Saturday morning - they're less effective during the day/evening aren't they?0
